This was my first time here, they're open until 6 on Sundays so it was convenient. That being said, this was the worst manicure I've ever had. I didn't get gel or anything fancy, just a regular manicure with polish. The employee put no effort in. She seemed almost bothered, and inexperienced. She filed, soaked my nails in cold water, and barely did the cuticles. She put lotion on my hands but instead of rubbing it in she wiped the excess off with paper towels. The paint job was messy. Make an appointment. They do take walk in, but they are the only game in town that are clean, sweet, caring. You show them a picture, they will try to replicate it!! I was looking for a new place since my usual is always too busy and took too long. I am happy I found Ocean nails and particularly Hanna. She does a great job and can do fancy stuff if you want! Most of the time I'm boring and just do gel or dip but she did a few designs for me (marble) with the gel and then helps me pick the colors for the dip. Prices I think are similar to what I've been seeing. Place is always clean and spacious. They also have a card you get stamped every time which earns you something on your 10th visit. I like this place. It's clean and the nail techs seem skillful. Except, I did get the dip powder manicure (50 bucks) once before and my fingers were very irritated for days after. Maybe it was just too much for me, but I wouldn't get it again. My gel manicures and pedicures received have been good! I've been about three times total already. The reason for the four-star is because they are overpriced! The gel manicure cost me $40 plus tax the other day. Most places are about $25 or $30 for a gel manicure. I didn't see anything specifically special about the manicure that would warrant a $40 charge. The pedicure was $48. Once again, way too much! I've had my nails done a few times here definitely recommend an appointment. My experience has been mixed. Pedicure is great and depending upon who does your nails if they last or not . It's always nerve-wracking finding a nail spot that's going to do a nice job without costing a fortune. I'm glad I checked Yelp and found this place. Officially my nail spot near home! For a mid-day/mid-week walk in I noticed it was fairly populated. But once I picked a color the nail tech was ready to go. Lots of various polish colors to choose from. Went for a pinkish coral for July. My experience was clean, efficient, and relaxing. I just got a regular pedicure which was only 20 bucks. There's a tv and small bottle of water to keep you entertained and hydrated. Capped off with a shoulder rub while toes dry. A stamp card was included for future visits...which is great because I'll be back! Tips in cash are encouraged but there's still a spot on the credit card receipt to add. read more

I usually really like this place but it seems like the workers come and go here. There's one lady who works the front who has the worst attitude I have ever had to deal with. She asked me 5 times if I liked the color I picked and scoffed everytime I said yes like she wanted me to change my mind. The newest girl I had today was nice but I had to go home after my pedicure and file my nails over because it was almost like she was afraid. I will probably be back but I think I'm going to start requesting who I get as most of the staff is great just a few that aren't. read more

They did a decent job with my gel refill, however I didn't like that they added a fee of five dollars to put some glue on my nails because supposedly they were lifting they were not lifting i've been to plenty of nail places where they just fill it without charging an extra fee I had just gotten a refill two weeks ago somewhere else. I also brought in a picture of a design to do on my nail which a wasn't a hard design at all and looks nothing like the picture I would not come again and would not recommend to anyone unless you make sure you know what you're paying for. read more

I went in recently for a pedicure and went with a pkg that included callus remover. Not the first time I've done it, but soon after I felt a burning sensation. Come to find out, I got a chemical burn that caused skin to crack in multiple areas on one foot and heel. Next day I was in urgent care and unable to walk properly. inflamed enough that I could barely get my shoe on. It's been a few days and still very sore. I'm upset with myself that I paid for it and provided a tip. The girl that did the pedicure was very nice and gave me some tips on how to take care of it. Loveee I was super nervous getting nail art done for the first time especially because i didnt know nail TECHS usually do that but the girl that did my nails ateeee i was showing them off every five seconds. I came in with my mom last minute with a 30 minute notice. They took us in and there was no waiting time, they gave me the best set I've had in a long time. They really take their time on the nails and show effort. I would recommend, however if you aren't going to do a simple set the prices do raise. They only use UV gel as well! read more

This place is awful and I genuinely don't understand how they are still in business. It took a man over 2 hours to do' a basic gel pedicure and he did a horrible job. For 60 dollars! No massage, cut my nails uneven, no proper callus removal. An absolute joke. Then before we were even done signing the receipt they start yelling at us about a tip. Huh? Tips are not a requirement and are optional. I always tip wherever I go even when people suck and these people jumped down our throat about it before we could even sign the receipt. First time trying Ocean nails . NEVER again. I rarely write reviews, but this needs to be said. From the start I was greeted like I didn't belong. They sat me down and as I was picking a color she began to file my nails making it difficult to browse. She hardly cut my cuticles and appeared to be rushing as more people arrived. FASTEST manicure I've ever gotten I would say 20 mins from start to finish. Sloppy work. Once I was drying she had a second person come over to finish the manicure and give a shoulder massage. He appeared to not know what he was doing and and never put the cuticle oil on. I'm assuming they have enough regular clients to not care about making new ones based on their behavior. I came here for the first time recently after moving to this area and needed a new nail place. I don't get them done regularly but I do treat myself once every month or two to a pedicure and manicure. Since this is usually my "treat" to myself, I'm picky about where I will go. Cleanliness is obviously very important, but I also like to go somewhere where they go the extra mile to make their clients feel pampered (ie. fancy pedicure upgrades, extra massage, etc). I used to work in New Haven so I would sometimes take the extra drive to a place that I liked in Guilford bc it was only a quick 15 minutes on the highway from work, and it was worth the pampering after a long day sometimes! So when we moved 30 minutes further up north and I no longer work near the shoreline, I was bummed that I would miss my favorite spot but couldn't justify the drive just for that. I came here based on the good reviews and am so glad I did! It was quiet and clean and they did a good job of spacing clients apart during Covid times. I got the gel uv tips in french for $70 but I wanna say a regular set is like 55 or 65? Overall worth the price bc it's so clean and sterile.
