We went together and she walked me up and down each aisle, introducing me to new items and daydreaming together about how we would prepare them in a meal. Of course, we didn't leave empty-handed! Yes, it was the produce section that got me in the door, but there's more than just that. You'll find every imaginable noodle and seaweed snack on the planet and spices and sauces that you didn't know existed. Plus, the dumplings, potstickers and frozen prepared meals! Plan on an hour or so to properly explore the store-or if you know just what you're here for-good on you!

Lots of authentic middle eastern groceries. Got some Aleppo chili peppers which is not available anywhere. Also got some Turkish yogurt. Got some real lavash, which was actually thin lavash. Great for shwarma and wraps. Got some orange blossom ice cream. Delicious! Tried middle eastern brand of orange soda. Refreshing! I had to exercise self-discipline and not buy some authentic Turkish delights. Will get them the next time. The owner lady was very friendly and helpful. Look for them on the corner of the lower level of an apartment building. Absolutely worth the visit. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. These guys are a family owned business, and have been around for more than 20 years. Over time, they expanded from the back corner of Ivy Place. Tastees has all kinds of Eastern European baked goods, cheeses and meats, imported shelf staples, etc. Nice treats too! The day I stopped by, they had just restocked their Milka chocolates, and there was a broad selection to choose from. They have a neat display case of nesting dolls and various decor items that I enjoyed looking at. I was more in search of ingredients for a dish I was planning, which this market fell short of. The meat and fresh produce section is limited and the seafood did not look fresh. The bakery that is attached inside was 75% empty and only prepackaged bread products were displayed. There were two other little shops as well where you could purchase food/deserts. Overall, my expectations for this place fell short and with the limited selection I think I would prefer a more local place that doesn't require me to go out of my way to shop at.
