The name "Maryland's Fresh Seafood" suggests statewide quality and, more importantly, seafood that is freshly prepared. Unfortunately, my food did not live up to that expectation. I ordered the lobster bisque and a fish platter with catfish, sweet potato fries, garlic green beans, and scallops. The scallops were dark in color and appeared as though they had been sitting under a heat lamp for an extended period of time. The catfish, which I specifically paid extra to upgrade, was dry, hard, and lacked the freshness I expected from a seafood restaurant. The lobster bisque was the biggest disappointment. It had an unusual, tangy taste and an extremely thick, cheese-like, marshmallow-gummy consistency. There was also very little lobster meat in the soup. Because the taste and appearance were concerning, especially with seafood, I ultimately decided not to risk eating it and threw the food away. I don't normally leave negative reviews, but spending $30 on food that I couldn't comfortably eat was extremely frustrating. To be fair, the customer service was excellent and the restaurant looked clean. Unfortunately, good service and a clean environment cannot make up for food quality this poor. I hope management takes this review seriously because the concept has potential, but the food I received was atrocious and nowhere near what I would consider fresh seafood.

From the outside, it doesn't scream much - just another unassuming roadside spot - but like any true Southern Maryland crab shack, the magic is all on the inside. This place is gloriously unfussy. No frills, no pretense. Just good food and a communal love of Old Bay. When you walk in, you'll head straight to the order window, where you'll also claim your table. It's usually hopping with locals and regulars, but even when it's packed, the wait for a table isn't bad. The dining setup is pure crab-feast efficiency: cardboard paper tablecloths, buckets for the shells, a roll of paper towels, and of course, the sacred tools of the trade--wooden mallets, crab knives, and an "I dare you not to get messy" vibe. They'll bring you a pitcher of water, and then the feast begins. Crabs come in half-dozens, full dozens, or more if you're rolling deep (and hungry). The sides hit just right: crispy hush puppies, creamy mac 'n cheese, buttery corn on the cob, greens, slaw - you name it. And if crabs aren't your thing (first of all, why not?!), there's fried shrimp, clams, oysters, po' boys, sandwiches, and all the seafood comfort classics. Wash it down with a cold beer or cocktail, and you're golden. The service? Friendly, fast, and no-nonsense in the best way. These folks have the whole crab shack dance down to a science. You're in, you're fed, you're full, and you leave smelling vaguely of the Chesapeake (just as it should be). Bottom line: Grinder's is the real deal. Perfect post-paddle, perfect anytime. Affordable, authentic, and absolutely delicious. If you're in the neighborhood, don't miss it, just bring your appetite and maybe a wet wipe or two.

When I walked in I was greeted by a few smiling and friendly faces. The young lady let me know that they only had medium males and large females available for the day. That didn't bother me so I went with a dozen medium males and the crab pretzel. The crabs were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Not overly seasoned which normally overpowers the actual flavor of the crab meat. So glad I came across Country's Seafood and will definitely be back for more crabs.

The steamed crabs were well seasoned and meaty, just the way I like it! Out of all the seafood combo, my favorite was the scallops. It was soft and chewy covered in the perfect batter. So I got a 2lbs each of shrimp and crab legs to start to see how they cooked their seafood. They have a plethora of items to choose from fried foods to steamed fish and other seafoods. So if you not into the steamed they got you for the fried foods. And I think they might had other items to choose from, but I was just wanting to try the seafood. I paid for my food and went back to the car to wait about 20 minutes. So after I grabbed my food I headed to the house to partake in what smelled really good. I really enjoyed that they give you reusable bags with your order. As we all know that in Maryland you pay for bags so I think I might have paid but not even sure. I was pleasantly impressed how good the seafood was cooked that I went back the very next day! This time I got large blue crabs and more shrimp. I was a little disappointed with the blue crabs because the large were light and small. And I had one that was not fresh so had to throw it out. Now I will give them one more try to get the blue crabs right...so hopefully next time I can maybe give them that 4th star. For now they get a 3.75 star rating. I will definitely be back for the shrimp because they have gotten that right each time!

Our food was done in a jiffy. There's not much ambiance here because it's a quick service option located in the food court. Given the surrounding options this may not be your first choice. The only reason why we opted to come here was because the surrounding sit down restaurants were packed before a concert on a Thursday night. We ordered the crab cakes, the fried shrimp, the hush puppies and the crab fries. The shining start of all the items we tried were the hush puppies. They are sweet, very sweet but delicious. The fries could easily be upgraded with a better quality of fries. The crab on top was okay but could have been better and the cheese whiz cheese shouldn't be happening. I would voluntarily pay an up charge of more for these to be a Parmesan crab truffle fry. I know their goal is not to make elevated dishes at a place like this but just a suggestion because there was potential there. It's like a Long John Silver's at a much higher price point.

I found the restaurant located outside of the casino in the food court next to a pizza spot. The restaurant has a walk-up counter to order food. Seating is open for all the restaurants. The menu is limited to a few items. Pappas Crab cakes offers crab balls, shrimp platters, fish and chips, Jumbo crab cake platters, and a few sides like old bay fries and coleslaw. It is odd to have a bunch of expensive restaurants in a food court, but some folks don't need to have an entire dining experience to eat good food. We just wanted a good crab cake in between losing money at the casino. My husband and I both ordered their Jumbo crab cake platter, which came with old bay fries and coleslaw. The 8 oz crab cakes were delicious, full of crabmeat, and very little filler. The fries were nice and crispy. Old bay makes everything taste better. Crabmeat is not cheap, so expect to pay for what you are getting. As a Baltimore native I give this spot 2 thumbs up.
