I want to call out the excellent service by Troy who delivered the new 2026 Honda Odyssey to my home in Saratoga. He was very polite, cheerful and helpful. Troy then went above the call of duty and chased down our garage door remote control in the 2019 Odyssey that we accidentally left behind when traded in the older model. When no one else bothered to look for it despite numerous requests, Troy made sure to find it and then hand delivered it to me the next day. What a breath of fresh air. I would prefer to be kinder to Ocean Honda, but I have to be honest and say that my experience 'could've been better,' in the hope that someone in management will take all of these mediocre ratings--and the crappy word-of-mouth I always hear about them. I'll spare you the details, but their wait times are too long and their prices seem higher than they need to be. (CAVEAT: I'm no expert on going rates of garage service, but I know what feels expensive when I feel it.) Maybe they just over-book too many people, but when you schedule an appointment well in advance for a small procedure, wait all day for an update only to be called late in the day to be told that you'll have to wait another full day for your car, it can be very frustrating, inconvenient, greedy, and unprofessional. Had my transmission, differential and brake fluids changed.. $1500!!! To undo a plug, drain and add new fluids (and pump the brakes a few times to get air out of the lines)! I was floored by the cost. THEN, they tell me I have a shock absorber and bushing on my front end that needs replacing for another $2,500. On a 2019 Pilot with only 50,000 miles driven by a 75 year old grandmother. Price gouging at its highest, and Honda has turned into junk. I should have heeded the reviews and bought a Toyota. I've wait before & it takes 2+ hours, I started utilizing their round trip Lyft service & still come back hours later to pick up my vehicle. I put up with the lag because at least I was able to get a ride back! They now changed the Lyft service to just one-way...the advisor told me it's so the company can save money. Boo Honda! Parts buyers beware. I brought them a roughly $4,000 OEM parts order and asked whether they could get close to online Honda dealer pricing. The parts manager said he was giving me a discount, but when I audited the quote, the "discounted" net prices matched normal Honda MSRP. For example, 30530-P5M-013 was quoted as List $641.97 / Net $548.03, but $548.03 is the public MSRP. 44600-S84-A00 was quoted as List $370.97 / Net $294.42, but $294.42 is also the public MSRP. The "discount" appeared to be from an inflated dealer matrix price, not from MSRP. I understand the overhead of a brick-and-mortar department and am generally willing to pay a reasonable premium for local availability, expertise, and quality control. However, I handed them a fully researched bill of materials, and the "service" I received in return included a quote for a discontinued part (instead of the available equivalent) and being sold an already-open tube of sealant. I did all the heavy lifting on parts matching and still had to audit the counter for accuracy and compromised gasket maker, so the "premium service" argument completely falls apart here. I would have preferred to buy locally, but the pricing presentation felt misleading and the execution was sloppy. I placed the entire order online instead. read more

About a year ago, we went in to buy a new (or gently used) Honda. This was going to be our 3rd car that we bought at Ocean. The experience was AWFUL. Price kept changing and then a full court hard sell on add ons (warranties, etc.) Nobody could really explain why we needed all these extra warranties, but they did know that we needed them. We NEVER want to step foot in there again. Not even for the free oil changes. We would rather pay some other place than go back. To this day we wish we would have walked out. I called to schedule an oil change for our van, and making the appointment was easy and quick--it only took about three minutes over the phone. On the day of my appointment, I arrived on time but had to wait about 10 minutes just to check in and another 15 minutes before I was able to speak with a service advisor. At that point, I started wondering what the purpose of having an appointment was. I had already lost 25 minutes, and my vehicle hadn't even been looked at. It also made me question whether purchasing the service package was worth it. Once I met with the service advisor, the paperwork was completed fairly quickly. I asked if the dealership offered a complimentary car wash, and he said yes. I told him I would like to take advantage of it, and he said he would make a note of it. About three hours later, I received a call that my van was ready for pickup. I was looking forward to picking up my serviced and freshly washed vehicle. When I arrived at the dealership, my service advisor appeared to be on lunch, so I asked where I could get assistance and was directed to the service desk. Unfortunately, I wasn't greeted when I approached the counter. The employee was distracted by a mobile device and wearing an earpiece, and it took about a minute before I was acknowledged. Once she began helping me, it took some time to locate my paperwork, which didn't seem very organized. After signing a couple of documents, I was told to wait outside while my van was brought around. To my disappointment, the van had not been washed. I mentioned it to the employee who brought my vehicle out, and he said he had never been informed. At that point, I told him not to worry about it because I had already waited three hours, and this request had been communicated when I dropped off the vehicle. Overall, I feel the dealership needs to improve its customer service and communication. I understand that no business is perfect and customers aren't always right, but having multiple issues during something as simple as a scheduled oil change makes me question whether I want to return for future service. read more

We went back to Ocean Honda to get a deck lid installed that was purchased through the Honda Dreamshop when we arrived for the scheduled appointment on a Saturday they had no idea how to process the work request since it was paid for online it took over an hour for them to figure it out. They said the car would not be worked on until the next day Sunday and someone would call us once it was ready. Sunday came around no one called we tried calling no answer so we show up the parts department was closed and the car was not worked on. The car was nowhere to be found it took forever for them to locate the car. The manager assured us that he would take care of it and make it right. We finally got the deck lid installed and guess what?!? They scratched the trunk they obviously took responsibility and had it fixed. When my husband checked his app to see where his car was he noticed that they had driven it over 70 miles and at speeds up to 94 miles an hour. Was reading a review of an Ocean Honda customer that put special marks on their wheels ahead of time as they were getting a tire rotation. They paid for it. When they got the car they noticed wheels in the same position. So before I bring my car in for some maintenance which includes a free tire rotation as I bought my tires there I cleaned a section of wheel rim. Plus, one tire has a silver valve cap the others black. I get my car back The next day I check the rim and tire. Wheels still in same position. Plus, no greasy smudge marks on the wheel spokes. Mechanic had also gone to lunch with :30 minutes worth of work remaining instead of completing the work. A 3 hour job took five and a half hours. I work as a mechanic for a railroad transportation company in the Bay Area. A few years ago we had about 10 ex-Honda mechanics working there. The stories they told. read more

Jakob let me know it was and he would have it ready for me when I arrived to test drive and look at. He made the process so casual and easy, I was out and on the road with my new truck in under two hours. Seeing as I drove almost two hours, they offered to uber me back to them after driving my truck home to pick up my car that I had driven there. It made the stress of figuring that out completely vanish. Johnny answered the phone at first call, however upon explaining the situation regarding my mother and her confusion on the numbers and such without clear and concise answers from her representative. I feel as this deal was misrepresented and would like to speak to their manager regarding what could be done, Johnny rudely interrupted me, then questioned why I wasn't there, I have work aside from that a question is none of your business. His tone and sudden firing of the questions was rude and unnecessary, I told him if he could please check his attitude and to remain professional to which his response was that I was being unprofessional in my attitude needed to be checked. I did call and recorded this call in a calm manner to which his smart responses and lack of professionalism was truly shocking and disrespectful. I've never been talked to you in such a disrespectful manner, especially by a sales representative considering our family has just spent $51,000 with this company. I will be heading to the store tomorrow. I've already emailed both of his managers regarding this interaction and will be talking directly with the manager of sales as well as the sales representative that sold my mother this car for an unholy amount of $17,000 worth of extra fees added on top. Came in on a Monday @ around 5PM and got greeted by Jeff W. Dealt with him on what car we wanted and he showed us, along with taking us on a test drive. Everything went alright, up until striking a deal. We originally got a quote for a 2026 Honda CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid from a different Honda dealership and asked them to see if they can beat the price but with a Hybrid Sport-L and Jeff, thought he was Mr. Know It All and automatically assumed that the price we got quoted wasn't the price of the Sport Touring-- he even laughed at us from afar with his colleagues as he went to try and run more numbers. Then he came back to us with, and I quote... "Yeah, we're not interested in making a deal. We're not gonna agree to that number." And as a customer, ready to purchase, that was really off-putting to me. Like, he didn't even try to win our business at all. His approach was terrible and definitely not someone you want to deal with; super unpleasant experience over all. However! Drive as far away from this Honda dealership as you can! My brother in law brought his Honda HRV in for a tire rotation. He marked every tire by number to see if they actually did the rotation. He comes back four hours later and his car is returned to him with all four tires still in the same place. My mom brought her Honda in for the same thing so guess what we did? We marked the tires to see make sure they do the job and you wouldn't even guess what happened?! They did it again and left all the tires in the same place! And tried charging her for a service she never received. The clerks excuse was " the mechanic probably forgot to do it " even though he marked it as done.The final straw I brought in a car for an oil change at 9 am. We dropped it off at 9 am and went about our day and came back at 1 pm. The car was in the same spot we left it when we left! If I could give 0 stars, I would. Unfortunately, I purchased a 2022 Honda HRV that had transmission or electrical issues immediately after purchase. Within a three week period I had two scary incidents on the freeway where the vehicle would not go past 40 mph. Unfortunately, the dealership was less than helpful not willing to buy the vehicle back from me, but willing to sell me a new vehicle but trading my old one in for less than I paid. So in essence they wanted to sell me two vehicles. I'm now pursuing this is a lemon law issue, and no longer see this as my tried and true Honda dealership. I'm so disappointed in them and the way they treat their customers who have issues with vehicles they sold them. Beware of buying a vehicle from them.
