I saw this 2016 Audi allroad at this dealership 2 weeks prior to my purchase date at a "good price" and wanted to have the sales person/owner; Charlie Yeo send me a video and he would not use the online format I suggested and was somewhat unreasonable so I decided I didnt want to make a 2 hour trip based on pictures. Two weeks later the price was adjusted over $1000 less to $6999 + gov't fees = $8,068 so I drove up the hill and test drove it for 38 minuets. I drove it on the freeway twice, pushed the speed, manually shifted it, hard breaked it and stopped to check out some of the electronics and found the drivers left mirror was faulty. The glass was not fixed to the movement motor and about to fall off. Not a big deal but technically a "safety issue". We arrived at the dealership and did a check on all the lights and had no problems o I decided to get a bank check to buy it based on me thinking all I would have to do is spend $200 on replacing the mirror and assembly and a check up. Now I know all used car sales are As-Is and final but he reason why I am writing this is because I want to share my Post Story. After driving it down the hill and 3 days later a warning light came on "Stop the vehicle immediately and check fluids". The radiator resivor was empty, I purchased gallon, another gallon and another until I took it in for an assessment. I needed a water pump which was my worst case thought for this vehicle and common for this model at 123,000 miles. I would have spent the $1600 fixing it but I was also told " the timing chain was stretched". This is a $5-8,000 fix for both! Dispite Charlie telling me "you can have somebody look at the car here" and him asking me to "sign off on the mirror that we won't fix it" what I was told days later was that the "check engine light should have came on much earlier" I was also told something else that has led me to believe that this dealership knew this vehicle needed major work. Another odd statement front Charlie was that "your plates and registration should come in the mail in about two months". I know dealers have 10 days to have sale documents into the state but based on personal experience this rings very...odd. MY LESSION: I would have better lost $200 having an independent inspector look at it and drove back rather then loose $8,000. When you go to THIS DEALER take a mechanic or hire an inspector. The Best Dealer placard that they have on the wall is not what I experienced because after this unit being on there lot for months I am of the opion they should have auctioned it off rather then knowingly selling a vehicle for 8k that is worth 3k base on the work needed. I took my one-time large VA disability check and threw it away! As long as this place has been in business I may be the minority opion but this is just BAD BUSINESS. read more

The price was more than for the same model with a clean Carfax, one owner, no accidents, and low mileage that I subsequently bought at Victory Toyota in Seaside. Buyer Beware. I was sold a 2500 Silverado truck with undersized tires which blew a belt while driving. Luckily it didn't cause an accident. Ninety days after selling me an unsafe vehicle, the owner of the business is only willing to reimburse me for half the amount I had to spend to make the truck safe and drivable, including new tires (correct size) and new properly sized wheels - the wheels he sold it with were oversized and rubbed against the body and bumper of the truck. I've tried to resolve this issue with the business owner for three weeks now. He's offering to reimburse half of my $2,045 cost. I have to file in small claims to be paid. I would not recommend this auto sales business. read more

We were in need of a mountain terrain vehicle since ours just got totaled by a deer. I did days and hours of research to find the type and price I was looking for. Finally, the one I wanted showed up in Santa Cruz. No need to go over the hill, so I decided to stop in and take a test drive. I was standing in the parking lot when a gentleman came up to me dressed in casual clothes and asked me how my day was going. I didn't realize he was the owner of Sunset Auto Sales. We walked over to the Highlander Hybrid and tried to open the door but the battery was dead. Not a good start but I figured I would keep going down the rabbit hole. He gradually walked over and got the jumper cables and viola the car came to life. Before I knew it I had given him my ID and he let me take a test drive all the way to Scotts valley. The car was everything I expected. Now to see what the wife felt about the deal. Even before my wife did her investigation and test drive I put my cards on the table and made a fair deal. Mike did not take my first offer since I was not aware of various standard fees, but we came up with a price that was below asking and felt good. He even gave me a 30 day guarantee that if there was any electrical problems with the hybrid engine he would fix it and on top of that he installed a brand new battery. I was really hoping my wife would go for it. She and I both were ready and tired of researching and looking for that perfect deal. So we did our due diligence and asked Mike if he would bring her in to get a pre-purchase inspection at the local Toyota dealership. This was very helpful since both of us were working at our jobs during the week. The bill of health came back perfect scores and no recommendations needed. The Toyota tech said I was the cleanest vehicle he had seen in a very long time and gave in a perfect score. The bottom line is Mike is not just selling you good vehicles with a smile, he is building a long lasting relationship and really tried to earn our business so we could share our experience with our close friends and family. If you are looking for an honest sale experience with someone who has learned that is is better to treat people like you would want to be treated. And we feel Mike gave us a fair honest deal and would definitely check his lot for any future used vehicle purchases. read more

I havent bought a car from them, and I never will. After reading some of these bad reviews, it looks like I ran into the same complaint as other people. I'm guessing i was talking to the owner, I had called in to ask about a car and shoot them a offer and he was so unmotivated and rude. These guys dont even try to make the sale, you just get hit with sarcastic remarks to make you feel stupid about even calling. I told them i was a serious customer with cash and he told me to not waste his time and just drive hours to come say it to his face, then he can conduct business. I understand that alot of people call and make offers and never show up, i have a business also. But not every customer is like that. I was actually gonna buy the car at his asking price eventually cause I really wanted it but if they cant even be nice about that, then i couldnt imagine running into an issue, how would they act then? Not to mention the fact that while I was talking he said have a good day goodbye. He probably assumed i was wasting his time. Point is. I wouldnt buy a car from here regardless of how nice and how cheap it is. Look elsewhere. read more

They provide 3 month "warranty"on all their vehicles but if you do have an issue with the car and call them you are told "we are not a repair shop" and ignored. Beware of them. If I could give them no stars I would. They were selling a 2009 Ford Escape XLS Sport with 87xxx miles. They had the car priced at 11,000$ KBB wont even offer 10k for a PERFECT conditioned car. Might I mention there were visible scratches and cosmetic defaults. We offered the man who was working 10,000$ cash right now. and his reply was "What planet do you guys live on?" My boyfriend tried to explain to him that we understand in dealerships the price gets marked higher. But if he were smart he would've taken the deal. And would have made at least 2,000$ profit, but he continued to argue with us. He was just plain out RUDE, and we left went to san jose, and bought a 2011 Toyota rav4 with only 20k miles, for 17k. He also mentioned to us he had only been working for 6 months... maybe the manager should hire someone new. read more

Mike was nice enough on the phone but he would not budge on the price and he was about $1000 over bluebook.. It was a 2005 mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor with 111,000 miles and leather seats... Showed me the Carfax but he would not budge on his price of almost $8000.. I even offered to pay him cash... I found it 2006 (one year younger) C280 at StevensCreek mercedes-Benz dealer... It had 116 K on it but the car was immaculate... New front suspension and brand-new Perelli's on the front.... I got that car for $7000 cash out the door tax and license included... Do not purchase a red shield extended warranty from these guys. It is the absolute worst company and they will not cover anything. I actually ended up paying more because they took forever to deny our VALID claim and we had to have a rental car for two weeks.
