The massage itself was good, but unfortunately the payment experience left a bad impression. I was required to pay for the service upfront, and then after the massage I had to use my credit card again separately for the tip, which resulted in another credit card fee. I was already planning to leave a tip, but when I gave the amount I wanted, the employee responded, "That's it?" which made me feel pressured and uncomfortable, as if I was being forced to tip more. A tip should be voluntary and based on the customer's experience, not something a customer is pressured or embarrassed into increasing. The service was good, but the way payment and tipping were handled was unprofessional and took away from what otherwise would have been a positive experience. I hope management improves this process and allows customers to tip whatever amount they feel comfortable with without pressure. read more

Judy helped my back pain and headaches so much. I highly recommend Ocean Healing Spa!

Got talked into upgrading to something more than what I originally booked, I paid with card upfront, but had only brought a cash tip for 20% of the original service. The upgrade ended being $20 more so the tip was still around 18% of the total and the energy shifted immediately when I handed her the cash, almost like she was offended. They also have mandatory tipping signs on the front counter. (Illegal) The place is expensive for walk-in services. It was clean. The head wash has an electric massager you lay on that squeezes your legs and moved constantly during the wash. read more

I had a great experience today. I will return soon for a scalp massage! The environment is calming and clean. The staff is very friendly and treated me well. read more

Popped in to today to get a massage here. I think their prices are pretty high for a pop in massage place and apparently they require you to tip 15-20% (they have a sign at the front saying that), which I actually don't think is legal. They made me pay ahead of time, which I found odd. And then when I was leaving she asked if I tipped, again, odd. The massage itself was pretty good. I've been having neck and shoulder pain and she did a good job getting in there. A different massage style, more of a rough style, not relaxing, but the masseuse certainly was working hard! I think it's a good place to pop in to if you are in pain and need a massage, but there are better places in town that are less expensive to schedule massages ahead of time. read more

OCEAN HEALING SPA - Pricing - Massage Therapy Near Me - Bakersfield, California

I called yesterday, made an appointment for 9:00 this morning. They had availability! Excellent! I booked the one-hour deep tissue. I usually book a 90 minute, but you never want to be there an extra thirty minutes if it's horrible. Lol! About 10 minutes into the massage, I wish I'd chose 90 minute! When I arrived I noticed how clean and tidy the place was. The staff is very friendly! I added essential oils to my service. The total was $100 for the massage and add-ons. I also tipped, because the service was really good. The rooms have curtains instead of doors, which isn't bothersome to me, but could be for others. All in all, I will definitely be back. I also want to try the scalp treatment service. read more

This spa is my wife and I's new favorite spot in Bakersfield. We really enjoy all the essential oils they have and their facility is extremely clean. Love their decor and everyone is extremely friendly as well. Highly recommend and has great value for what you pay for! We'll be back frequently read more

I got a deep tissue massage that was decent, the lack of communication made it kind of difficult to explain what parts hurt the most but it definitely relieved some tension. Giving one star mostly because the customer service was a little weird. I was required to pay before getting the massage and as I was leaving the lady pointed at the tip sign without saying a word and I said oh sorry I'm used to paying everything together tip included and she took it the wrong way and said a tip is always required kind of rudely. Of course I was going to pay a tip but having it separated paying at the beginning then tipping at the end made it the whole experience complicated. Been to plenty of massage clinics that charged everything together at the end so this was a first. read more

Got an amazing deep tissue massage from Jenny this morning. Good gawd, it was so amazing! She massaged everything, down to my fingers tips! She used a good amount of pressure, which I was happy with. I also got hot stones added to my massage. Worth it! I was told that Jerry is really good (stronger) for deep tissue massages, too, so I might have to try him out next time. They give you comfy slippers upon entering and you leave your shoes in a cabinet in the front. Clean and relaxing environment. I even got a little snacky afterwards. This place is super new - I was told they just opened last week and I'm excited that they're close to home. Will definitely be back! read more

Absolutely love this place. I found them on a whim but I'm so glad I did. So professional and such a clean and calming place. They even get you slippers before you walk back. I have done the individual deep tissue massage and then went back the following month with my boyfriend and we got the couples deep tissue massage. We both absolutely loved it and felt so good! I am now a loyal customer and highly recommend this place! They are so sweet. They have several options of services. I will be trying the head scalp massage next! read more

My wife and I went in for 60 min combo massages (30min full body/30min foot massage) and it was absolutely the worst massages we have ever received. My wife's lady left multiple times to handle other business and did not extend my wife's time to compensate, she had her phone sitting on my wife's massage table vibrating throughout the entire time, she was very erratic and hard to communicate with. My lady obviously had no idea what she was doing and did not speak any English. She focused on random areas (my left lower back/hip) not really on the muscle and grinding on bone multiple times, my right shoulder, jabbing her finger into my neck as if massaging it, she never moved onto the other sides and my foot massage was less than 10 minutes of her digging more into the bones than anything. When we told the lady at the front about the terrible experience she brought my lady to the front and they argued/yelled at each other in the lobby in front of us and then proceeded to yell at me and refused to give us any sort of refund or compensation. Hands down one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a business and an absolute waste of $175. read more

I honestly cannot believe the experience I had here. I've been to multiple head spas before and usually love them because they're supposed to be relaxing and calming. This place was the complete opposite. The lady doing the service was extremely rough the entire time. I never felt relaxed once and honestly kept my eyes open almost the whole appointment because the vibe felt so uncomfortable and off. The whole place gave me a strange feeling, like something shady was going on behind the scenes. Instead of feeling peaceful, I just wanted the appointment to end. On top of that, the lobby experience was bizarre. We were being told about the expensive furniture and how we could "only sit a certain way" around it, which felt more important to them than making customers feel welcome. The worst part was at the end when she actually argued with us about leaving a tip. Tips are earned based on service, not demanded from customers. I've never experienced something so unprofessional. Between the rough service, uncomfortable atmosphere, and attitude, I would absolutely not recommend this place. read more

What a fantastic massage! From the moment I walked in, it had a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Lala at the front desk greeted me and offered me a pair of slippers. The place is very clean, relaxing and has a pleasant aroma. It was very clear and easy to communicate what type of massage I wanted and any type of add-ons like essential oils or hot stones. I opted for the combo body and foot massage. My masseuse Jenny, did a great job and did not short me on time. She covered everything very thoroughly and methodically from head to toe! Very professional and not the place if you're looking for "extra" services. This place gives a real proper massage. I will definitely be going back. read more

This is a brand new business in Bakersfield, and it is wonderful. I had the one-hour hair wash, scalp massage, hair treatment, "waterfall" rinse. It was amazing. Jenny has the perfect touch and the essential oils she used were amazing. This is a very clean, relaxing venue - soft music, wonderful calm ambience. I cannot imagine a better way to get rid of the stresses of a long week. read more
