8/17/24 and 6/20/25 Update: This place is super under-rated. This is the 2nd and 3rd time that I have been here. This spot is located by Fort Walton Beach/Mary Esther. Parking lot is huge and they also have rear parking for trailer parking. I came here on a Saturday night and Friday night around 6:30p and surprisingly the crowd was light both nights. This place is great! The crawfish is huge, fresh, and tasty. We had maybe 4 plates. They also give you a nice big bowl to place the crawfish shells into. The selection here is big and the made to cook hibachi is very tasty. They have different selections that your typical Chinese buffet doesn't have. I enjoyed the stuffed jalapeño, mussels, and coconut shrimp here. The sushi wasn't too tasty as it was old and hard. The food is fresh and yet I just don't understand the horrible reviews and low stars. This place is definitely a 3.5 to 4 star place. Comparing to all the low budget Chinese buffets that I have ever been to, this place is in the elite status. The ice cream is one of the best quality I have ever had at a Chinese buffet. It's hard to get because you have to scoop it yourself and not a machine. I will definitely be coming back again when I am in town and I urge you to do the same. read more

It was really good with a lot of variety. If you go in expecting something fancy then you'll be disappointed but if sketchy Asian food in large quantity is what you're looking for then this is the place. It's also very conveniently located in the FWB area. read more

My daughter picked this establishment based on the reviews and me and the Mrs went willingly with the rest of the family we were seated quickly and efficiently and after ordering our drink we were welcomed to grub down at the buffet 5 tables of multiple delights from traditional to Asian American choices and by the noise the locals were making as the plastered their faces with food from lo mein to crawfish to shrimp to a multitude of soups this place was a gold mine of goodness for them! But for us a well traveled group of foodies it was just average buffet fare. A serene and tranquil atmosphere was truly pleasant yet the food was ok, a highlight was the Mongolian BBQ/Hibachi area where you can have it your way so take the opportunity to try this place out for yourself. The food was great especially the coconut shrimp and the crab meat. I had several rounds of those. Dessert options are nice as well with the banana pudding, ice cream bar, and various pastries. Unfortunately, the hostess with curls styled in a half-up, half-down and glasses was not too kind. We entered the establishment and were immediately asked "how many?" with a monotone voice and an uninviting face. Perhaps she had a bad day, but it definitely made us wonder if we should stay to eat. The building is unique and it draws you in but the food is meh! I paid $71 for four drinks, 3 adult buffet, and one child. We are on vacation and we decided to dine here on a Monday night. We arrived around 6pm. The restaurant wasn't busy but it had a fair amount of people. We were sat promptly and drinks were served promptly. I felt like the food wasn't fresh, probably because there were many people to go thru the food. My nephews liked it, but they don't know any better. The floors needed cleaning. I've been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years, making it a regular stop whenever I visit Fort Walton Beach. Moreover, I have been promoting this to my friends and family. We've always enjoyed their coconut shrimp and honey chicken, and while the cleanliness has never been stellar, we've overlooked it given that it's a buffet. However, our most recent visit was deeply disappointing and will unfortunately be our last. Upon entering, we were met by a cashier whose behavior was SHOCKINGLY UNPROFESSIONAL and INHOSPITABLE. She was a slim white woman with curly brown hair and oversized glasses. She did not greet us, offered no pleasantries and instead flatly asked how many were in our party before silently escorting us to a table tucked away at the back of the restaurant. When we politely requested a table by the window, she paused long enough to make her annoyance unmistakably clear, then curtly responded that we could "sit wherever we want." Her tone and body language were completely INAPPROPRIATE for someone working in customer service!!! Hospitality is a core element of the dining experience especially in a restaurant setting, and it was completely absent here!!! If this individual is unhappy in her role, that's an issue that management must address. It is unreasonable and unacceptable for paying customers to be treated with such visible disdain. To make matters worse, when we asked the second cashier on duty (who was far more polite) for the first cashier's name, she claimed not to know it. That level of detachment among coworkers is both UNPROFESSIONAL and IMPLAUSIBLE, suggesting either a lack of accountability or a culture of indifference among the staff. Sadly, this experience has made it very easy for us to take our business elsewhere. We'll be telling all our friends, family, colleagues, and fellow travelers to avoid this establishment until they invest in staff training or (better yet) hire NEW STAFF ENTIRELY. A restaurant is only as good as the people who represent it, and in this case, that standard has been severely compromised. read more

I personally love ocean buffet. People are always there grabbing your plates or filling up your drinks and even if they don't and you have to ask, there's no hassle about it. The scenery is nice and cozy. A lot of people are upset with the food and I personally recommend going during dinner. They have a better selection and hot food is constantly being put out (if it's mid busy). As for the "food doesn't taste good" honestly you just have to know what to get. For example I wouldn't get the crawfish when it's not in the season. And if it doesn't look good then obviously don't get it. As for price, it's a buffet. read more

Food isn't bad. They have sadly cut alot of options over the years. Sushi seems to get replenished at random long intervals. Other than the lunch hours, the food tends to sit too long on the buffet line. Service is really bad. You get your initial drinks. But after that, the only time a server visits your table is when they clear plates while you're away getting a new one. I usually have to get up and ask someone for the check. After almost 10 years, I came back with my girlfriend to check if the buffet was still around and holy crap I was so happy. All of the food was very clean and they even had all of the "OG" dishes they used to make. Yes, chow mei fun (white noodles), frog legs, scoop your own ice cream, wontons, bean buns, bacon wrapped crab, and more. You don't see those anymore and sometimes you just don't realize what you had until it's gone. The service was as you should expect. Finished dishes were taken promptly and refills whenever you needed. A cook helped me with the hibachi and soup station and even ordered some fresh food to put out per our request. Bathrooms were clean and the same ol' chairs and tables in good condition somehow LOL. Owner was on her knees cleaning the ground when we left. You can tell they have taken care of it over the decade. Overall, it's sad that so many people have given such a low review. The nostalgia hit hard but in all the right places. 5/5. read more

This buffet is amazing and includes mongolian grill too. You can eat what you want and not bad for lunch, about $16 for dinner, after 4pm. They have all your regular dishes and some very surprising specials, like crawdads boil and many more. Try this place and I think most people will be happy they did. I will be going back. read more

Had a very good lunch at this restaurant on Sunday, 6 Oct 2024 around noon. The food was good the service was too. We left a cash tip on the table for our server and paid for our meal with a credit card. My wife lined through the tip section on the credit card receipt because we had already left a tip on the table. 3-1/2 hours later, when we were at home, my wife received a Credit Card notification indicating Ocean Buffet had just made another charge (manually) to our credit card for $11.00. A charge we did not authorize. We called Capital One to have the unauthorized charge removed from the credit card, and then unfortunately, we were obligated to cancel the card because we weren't sure if further funds would be stolen from our account. read more

After mixed yelp reviews of this business we decided to at least give it a try. Poor choice by us. The lady yelled at us as we went in and rushed us to follow her, only to not have a table ready. Then when we got a table she wouldn't let us sit until she had our drink order. We should have turned around and walked out. The food was definitely not fresh and bland at best. Is there a zero star option? You are greeted with a pungent odor as soon as you walk in to the doors. I hope your balance is at least subpar to maneuver the slippery slick floors. We literally skated through with our shoes on. Food is mediocre to say the least. Dry and stale just like your regular Asian buffet joint. I wasn't going to post, but now it's day 3 of stomach problems- -both upstairs and downstairs. Not only was the food totally subpar but the dining room had a huge cockroach which even scared children at other tables!! I wanted to pick a place that had variety because we had a large party, so we picked a place that boasted a big selection. Yes, they have 4 different types of crusty sushi. Yes, they had a pho bar that wasn't very clean. Yes, they had Chinese food that ALL tasted the same. Yes, they had a hibachi bar that was totally gross and the cooks made it seem like you were ruining their "candy crush" time to cook your food! (Which you have to ask for seasoning on you food) The only thing I will praise them on is: the person who sat us, made sure to question each child about their age so no one would be able to utilize the "child price" for non-children. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We came on the account that my toddler wanted Chinese buffet. Food looked like it had been left out for hours and they had just opened. Building is old and not well cleaned or kept. Sure it's cheap - $11.99 for adult lunch - but you get what you pay for. We left and got pizza across the street. Save your $. We've been eating here for years now. It may not be the fanciest looking place around, but for what it is, the lunch buffet is absolutely the best bang for your buck around town. The peanut chicken is honestly heaven sent. The mongolian grill is my favorite part about this buffet. The sushi is hit or miss depending on whether the sushi was just freshly prepped or if it has been sitting out there for a while. Went there 29 June and much of the bar never changes, we have at times got the runs after eating here. On this day I asked them to put a different pork roast on the bar as the one out was bloody. Safe pork should not have red or blood. Not only did the not do it but they removed it and never replaced while we were there. To top it off, some cook showed up at our table and started loudly berating me for complaining. With him, he didn't bring the bloody piece but another scrap that looked overdone.
