This place is so cute!!!! I was in the area because I have two family members with appointments at the Baltimore Field Office that were 3 hours apart and wanted somewhere to chill in between. This is the best place. While waiting my brothers and I played Jenga that the cafe offers and also monopoly which is this super cute specialized version for the area, Arbutus/Baltimore. This cafe is so cute and quiet - a great place to get some work done, have a small meeting or chill with your family. If I lived nearby this would definitely be a regular place I would come to get work done. To drink, I ordered something on seasonal media specifically their Rose B. Chai (I forgot the second word ) which a mix of chai and rosemary. And dare I say it's the PERFECT FUSION!!! It's so good! at first I was a little skeptical thinking it shouldn't work but it does. Now unfortunately my mom didn't approve and she has a more of a sweet tooth than I do so maybe different people have their different opinion but I loved it. There's also an orange creamsicle drink that's on the menu that I really want to try.I didn't have time to order food but the prices are super reasonable like less than $10. I I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my wife and our twins for our morning coffee. When we're on vacation, we try to hit up a new local coffee shop, and on this morning we decided to go to Oca Moca. We picked this location mostly because it was conveniently located just off the highway on our way home. It's situated in what felt like a small downtown area of Arbutus. The inside of the coffee shop is much larger than it appears from the outside and, in addition to the main café area, it also includes a community room. Once inside the coffee shop space, there's a cooler with drinks and a small display case with their pastries. For our coffees that morning, I went with a large hot Lavender Dreams latte, while my wife ordered the Peach Keen cold brew. It took somewhere between 5 to 10 minutes before we had our coffees and were on our way. My coffee tasted good as I could clearly taste both the lavender and the honey, but there was still plenty of strong coffee flavor on the backend. My wife's coffee, on the other hand, wasn't so good. The peach flavor was extremely strong and sweet, and both of us thought it clashed in a strange way with the bold cold brew. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While I enjoyed my coffee, my wife's was definitely one of the weirder flavors I've tasted and not in a good way. read more

The pop tarts were phenomenal but very pricey. I bought a strawberry and blueberry homemade pop tart. I also ordered a large caramel apple cider which tasted great but the temperature was lukewarm. I would come back to actually try their coffee and review it. The customer service was okay. The young lady working the front counter gave average customer service. The place has lots of seating and my order came out quickly. I had $100 bill and they couldn't break the hundred dollar bill. They had no change for it. So I had to go out to my car and get my car which was a bit of an inconvenience. read more

I was in the area and Yelp let me know that this was nearby, I'm always up for coffee and food so why not? I nearly drove by it, I went at about 11a on Monday and there wasn't much street parking. There is a parking lot right next to it....but I'm thinking you're not supposed to park there. Anywho, once inside, it is a pretty large space with tables, what looked like a community space and plenty of spaces for folks that may want to study. The menu had a nice selection and the prices were reasonable IMHO. I got the iced mocha and an everything bagel with loc and cream cheese. Located in Arbutus, this cafe is a great spot for students to study and hang around. Very close to the UMBC campus. The food was decent, but a little on the pricier side. Drinks were also decent. Parking was a little weird as there is a lot next to the strip mall however you cannot park there as it is bank parking only. No worries, I was easily able to get a spot on the street. I ordered their signature drink frozen and it was a chocolate delight. They also offer many food options however I did not try them this visit. My companion had the pine needle tea and enjoyed it as well. I thought the pine needle tea was an interesting option. The service was kind and mostly customer friendly. The person at the register took abt 5 minutes to take my order as they were doing something with the register. I wasn't in a hurry so not a deal breaker. The space is open and modern with a lot of art work for sale. Many different size tables as well so great for large or small groups. Also a very good relaxed atmosphere for working if you work from home and want to get out of the house. I'll definitely check it out again and you should too. read more

This is a lovely spot to catch up with friends or get homework done in a cozy environment. The service is fast, the staff are friendly and helpful. I love supporting this coffee shop that is run by UMBC alumni and students! Today I got a delicious vegan breakfast sandwich, it hit the spot to be nutritionally filled and get to work! The interior has spacious booth seating and some tables and chairs. Sometimes the music can get loud, but if you are seated further away from the speakers, you should be fine. The cafe also has some boardgames to accompany your visit. In the back of the cafe, there is a large community meeting space, perfect for hosting larger private events. The restrooms are clean and organized and there are plenty of parking options available via street parking or the adjacent parking lot. read more

I stopped here to find something for lunch (and a little treat to take home too). I was in a rush so I got everything to-go, but the place was pretty packed. I'm not sure if I would've been able to even find a seat if I wanted to stay. It definitely seems like a hotspot for UMBC students - most booths were filled up with people camping out on their laptops, and the campus is super close by. I decided on their signature drink, named the Oca Mocha after the cafe itself, and it was DELICIOUS!! So sweet and chocolatey, but it was also very rich. I also ordered the avocado toast, which was pretty average. I liked the seasoning on it and the bread (a huge slice!), but I think the avocado was just a tad underripe for my liking. I also tried their berry (?) scone. I question whether or not it was berry because I think that is what I was told it was, but couldn't find the berries in it. It was also very very dry, and not very sweet at all. I've had good luck so far on my scone-trying adventures, but this was the first true disappointment I've had. I think if it had more berries, it would have been much much better overall. I'd like to go back here to try some of the other pastries they have in an attempt at redemption for the scone. I would also go back just for the Oca Mocha alone, so I definitely think another visit is in my future. read more

The Lox Bagel ($9.75) was far less superior. It had your traditional cream cheese, lox, and capers, but also thick tomato slices?? The tomato in the lox bagel was not appealing at all. The praline latte ($5.65 for a medium) had good flavor and their cold brew ($6 for a large) was just okay. Overall, Oca Mocha is a nice coffee joint to go on a date, hang out, or work. They have booths, as well as couches. There is a 15% discount Yelp offers that I forgot to use during my visit. The barista informed me there is parking in the back of the cafe. DD & I both had an appointment not far from here & I suggested coffee first. So glad to have found OCA Mocha! I'm just going to take a moment & rave about the Southwest Retriever panini. It was a real party for my mouth in every way. So often, chicken breast is dry and inedible but this was succulent. The bacon perfectly done and the Southwest sauce piquant. I really wanted DD's half, too! ;) Their signature Oca mocha was delightful, just the right balance of espresso and chocolate. Parking can be scarce during busy times, I'm sure. I scored a spot in the street right in front & DD got one across from me. Guess it was our lucky day. This place is so good that I came 2 days in a row. I got an iced lavender and white chocolate latte with a lavender cold foam, then the next day; I got a turkey pesto panini and a mocha. I absolutely loved the drink bc it was a pretty looking drink, and it tasted great! The sandwich was also amazing, and perfectly toasted. The staff are helpful, friendly, and very knowledgeable about their coffee. They also offer other breakfast and lunch sandwiches, coffee, tea drinks. Disappointing food and service. Their chicken pesto was nearly tasteless, with only the slightest hint of pesto, and overpriced for what you get. The texture was decent, but that's the only good thing I can say about it. I've also had the displeasure of trying their hot chocolate, which was similarly bland and primarily tasted like warm milk. A true shame. There was a complex undertone of spice that could have made for an excellent drink, had there been more than a wiff of chocolate flavoring. Honestly, Swiss Miss would have been better. Firstly this place is cute. Secondly I took pics after inhaling part of the warmed!!! Cookie and my honeybee latte. The honeybee latte has honey and cinnamon. The cinnamon is way more pronounced than I expected but I'm not sad about this. The boy got a plain latte and it was slightly bitter but much nicer than other chains that shall remain nameless. We also just hung out with the MIL for a bit, listened to some live music. The parking lot next door isn't theirs's (oops) but on Sunday or Saturday late afternoon noone was making a fuss. An absolute gem in the area! A friend recommended the shop but I never really thought of stopping by until I was passing the area and randomly decided to check it out. I was blown away... the pictures don't do it justice! First off the shop is much bigger than expected, with booths, tables, a lounge area, even a meeting room in the back! Their staff was very friendly and were helpful helping me decide which drink to order. I tried their signature drink, The OCA Mocha, and it was delicious! Definitely recommend it if you go! Didn't try any food, but they had an entire plant-based menu that I'm curious to try. read more

Oca Mocha is such a cute and much needed addition to the Arbutus area! It's a great spot for UMBC students and others to gather in a welcoming, warm, and nicely decorated environment! Besides coffee and a seating area, there's a little stage for performers, a mini art gallery, and even more study rooms for students! Their pumpkin spice latte had a good flavor and I plan to come here much more! Based my first visit, this place overextended my expectations and I highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

Okay so first off, the cashier on staff today was passive aggressive. Don't leave a teenager in charge, they won't do you any favors Second, I thought I was about to get a boujie sandwich for the price. And yes, I know inflation is a thing but that sandwich was naaaasty. I was excited to try something cute and local. I finished and I skipped over most of it and am still hungry. I was frustrated I spent $10 on a sandwich that was Dunkin/McDonald's quality. The egg is fake, made of soy (cheap), the bacon was little bacon bits and most of it was fat which was bc it felt like I was chewing gum and I couldn't swallow. It was sub par at best. $10 I won't be getting back. Their drinks are not bad but I would not come here for the food. The place is cutely decorated, has comfy seating and it is in a convenient location which is why I gave it 3 stars. Came in here on Sunday, April 21st after work for a little pick-me-up. I ordered a large frozen chocolate and a cinnamon roll. What should have been a small order that only took a few seconds to make, took around eighteen minutes in total to finally be made. The cinnamon roll was sitting on the display shelf, it should not take as long as it does just to heat it up in the microwave. It seems they probably only make one order at a time, rather than several orders concurrently, which is baffling considering there were more than four people working behind the counter, one of them on the phone in the middle of things being made. Once my order came out, the frozen chocolate had barely any sweetness, a waste of $5.50. Overall, the service was horrible and the mediocre food was absolutely not worth the wait. The employees that work here should feel embarrassed for this poor display and I will be taking my business elsewhere to a place that actually respects the time and money of it's customers. read more

This place is so much bigger than I realized and has a very cool vibe. They have games you can play, books to read from a community library, and a food donation box. It was nice to see so many different groups of people just casually hanging out. Every time I'd come by this place would be closed (only open to 3), but I finally made it out on a weekend. It was disappointing they were out of the vanilla chai, but the latte I got was pretty good and the bagel sandwich was very yummy. The iced oca mocha seems to be their most popular item from what I noticed people ordering. Will have to give that a try next time. Just a heads up, they do require face masks when you're not sitting down. read more
