Well. This review a bit overdue. So i have been coming to OC Salsa for 2-3 months now. I tried Salsa dancing back in college but it didnt spark much interest. Now that I am in my 30s, worked for 8 years and dated my ex for 6 years. Things have changed. I decided to try this hardcore instead of all the common guys hobbies. you know. guns, cars, PC, sport etc etc I picked this studio because of the schedule and setting. The membership pricing is easier to manage. They have a banging Black Friday Sales (wink) People are very friendly, they may take some times to get familiar with you. I understand, there is alot of people would only show up a few times. The dance instructors are great. They teach the key details even at beginner level. I enjoy the overall studio facilities. Really disappointed in this place when I went in to look at the location and look at the contract .She said there would be no issue returning the deposit as long as I gave her three weeks of notice.. I decided to go forward and put the deposit down because I trusted her word, she told me and 3 other people that. I decided to cancel 5 weeks before the date because I realized it wasn't really what I was looking for the location is outdated, there's a lot going on, so it seems chaotic inside and not really elegant.. When I went to cancel, She said it was non refundable, it's giving greed.. A friend of mine encouraged me to try out salsa dancing at Sevillas, Wednesday. Finally, got the confidences to go alone. Everyone was welcoming and the class was fun. I was then told OC salsa runs classes Mon-Friday. I went on OC Salsa studio on Friday. I saw the price for each class and end up purchasing the monthly membership because it was reasonably priced, and never looked back. The classes are group as beginner 1, beginner 2, and intermediate. There's an online syllabus for each group to progress in dancing. OC Salsa is truly a dance school. Everyone is welcoming, from the staff members to the other dancers. I enjoy the challenges with dancing and learning/executing the sequences at the end of each class. I also like OC salsa having social dances on Wednesday and Friday. I enjoy the rotation of dance instructors because I can learn from different teachers. There's one instructor who would style the sequences with different movements, and another instructor who works on timing and perfecting each move. The four dance boot camps are fun and challenging. I like that they have a boot camp for salsa, bachata, and cumbia. In addition, the boot camp teaches musicality and finding the salsa one in music. Outside of dancing, OC Salsa has pool party and bus trips to Ensenada. OC Salsa is a great place to meet people, learn how to dance, stress reliver, and it's a great community. Spontaneously taking a dance class in May of 2022 has been one of the best decisions I've made so far. Great lessons with knowledgeable and patient instructors. This is the BEST PLACE to learn Salsa and Bachata at a decent pace. Not too fast, not too slow. Fun environment where there is a mix of being serious and structured, sticking to the techniques and steps taught, but also a little bit of small talk and banter as we all laugh and figure out how to dance! Love the easy-going fun class environment. You can show up by yourself or bring a friend or two. It's encouraged to dance with other people as we rotate partners after learning a sequence of steps, as you get more experience that way and maybe try something different or get different feedback from someone new. The dance community overall is a friendly place thats great for meeting new people, or even taking a date/girlfriend/significant other. Dancing is good for the soul and the exercise helps keep the weight off! I signed up for their monthly membership and come all the time. Have made some new friends, and now have some cool moves to show my friends who don't do salsa! I've been getting better and better, which is an extremely satisfying feeling when you impress your dance partner with the smoothness and skill of your moves. People are friendly and give good feedback, will even teach you some new moves and correct bad habits of the moves you already know. Dancing is communicating with the body and it's interesting to sense someone else's energy just from dancing alone. Many people here are single, but respectful of those who are married or in a committed relationship who come here as well. I highly recommend OC Salsa. I absolutely love OC Salsa and can't say enough positive things about my experience! I've been coming for about six months and have really improved as a dancer, grown in confidence, and cultivated a sense of community in OC. All of the teachers have different styles, but all are dedicated to seeing you grow in both salsa and bachata. Pepe's energy and stage presence are unmatched, Miranda is absolutely hilarious, Jenny is extremely patient and makes everything accessible for beginners, Arthur has a great understanding of body mechanics, and Juanito's classes are very fun and challenging (in the best possible way). I have really loved my monthly membership and try to take advantage of it as much as my schedule permits. There are 4 hour workshops every second Saturday that are the highlight of my month and are a great opportunity to hone your skills. The Wednesday night socials at Sevilla are always a blast and often have live music. I really enjoy taking classes at the studio on Tuesday and Thursday. There are also classes and social dancing at the studio every Saturday. Prices are very reasonable and the monthly membership works great compared to other places in OC. Esteban respects and listens to his clients and always tries to make things more interesting (different themes for bootcamps like casino rueda and additional classes) and more convenient.
