I got two moles removed, three cherry angiomas (red moles) and a small skin tag above my eye removed. It was around $1300. This doctor is $$$$ if you don't have insurance or are coming for cosmetics. I made the appointment the day before on the phone, and had to wait over an hour to get the procedure after the consult. It wasn't the best experience having to wait such a long time with my shirt off for the doctor in the little room, but again I am grateful. Next time I'd rather come quick and go, as opposed to having to wait such a long time. (Prior employees were visiting the doctor and this took up a huge deal of time of me having to wait ) Don't make an appointment if you have something to do or planned afterwards, this takes at least an hour! The doctor wasn't too involved in the initial consult, it was more the medical assistants who called the doctor in at the end to introduce herself. I personally didn't mind that the medical assistants were helping in the consult because I know doctors are busy. The medical assistants also go over pricing with you, not the doctor. Most everyone in the office seemed sweet and welcoming, with the exception of a blonde girl who sat at the left front desk and looked miserable. The office was clean and sanitized. The doctor was kind, and explained everything she was doing when at my procedure. She knew how to distract from the pain, and is so confident in her work, she said if she leaves any kind of scarring after a few months she will take care of it complimentary! I have been going here since 2015 due to having PCOS. I have had previous laser session elsewhere for this condition, but was ripped off and was hesitant to do laser again. I would hide my face by leaving my hair down until I was introduced to Dr. Shafa by an acquaintance and couldn't be happier. I was extremely worried about the results and if the laser would work. Dr. Shafa gave me the details and unlike other doctors that "guarantee 100%", she told me an estimate with even a possibility of my treatment not working. She made me to try it once more and I'm glad I did. I got laser treatment done on my face (extremely stubborn area; chin, cheeks, neck) and have been very happy with the results. My acne has also been under control compared to my old puberty days with laser hair removal treatment. My acne scars have healed and I don't deal with ingrown hairs anymore that cause acne. Due to my condition, I do need more treatments and would definitely recommend her to anyone. I only have to go every 3-4 months now. She cares for her patients and is very welcoming. She is not one who will take your money. You get your money's worth. :) I started with her in 2015 and still see her in 2019 for touch-ups. ^__^ The location of this place is super convenient & clean. I know waiting can be frustrating from some of the reviews. Do expect to wait after check in because sometimes there is a delay sometimes. She is the only laser doctor available. I would call and ask how the schedule looks ahead of time to see if you'll have to wait or will be taken in right away. Although I have only been a patient of Dr. Shafa's for three months, the results ive seen have surpassed my expectations and fears of treating my current acne and acne scars. Dr. Shafa is great at Kenalog injections for dealing with keloids. I'm prone to keloids and need shots to keep them at bay due to a traumatic car accident a few years ago. Dr. Shafa is great. Hi everyone. On 6/6/2019, I had a horrible traumatizing experience with Dr. Shafa that I have never been through in my entire life. I was there to see Dr. Shafa for a lite laser session to remove some broken capillaries on the two sides of my nose. At that time, I decided to ask her about a couple of large pores I had on my nose that was caused by acne. She offered to do a quick non-invasive laser to reduce the appearance of the pores at a discount since I was already there. Because I trusted her as a professional experienced doctor and she assured her it would be non-invasive with no downtime, I decided to do it. What came next changed my life negatively. On her own, she decided to do me a favor and did an aggressive procedure by burning the tip of my nose with a laser rod. I knew something was wrong when the burn gave me an excruciating pain, I can smell the burn of my flesh, and saw the tip of my nose was flat when she showed me the mirror. I was so scared that I lost sleep for 4 weeks and I was shaken in bed. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror, I declined all gathering, and refused to get out of the house unless I have to. I sought out two other dermatologists for after care advices and they shook their heads. This procedure should have never been done on my nose to minimize large pores. She thought my skin would be smoother after the scabs fall off. It was like she used me as a guinea pig to test out her theory. My conclusion which is the same as the other 3 or 4 reviewers on Yelp is that Dr. shafa is not a trained dermatologist. She does not know enough about skin since she is a family doctor. She's an inexperienced, reckless, risk taker that ruined my life. Now, I have a dented nose with bumpy texture and brown discoloration. I did not agree to this procedure and nothing was explained to me beforehand. I have been looking for a lawyer to sue her and to prevent her from doing this to anyone else again. If you know a lawyer who is willing to take my case, please give me your recommendations. read more

I came here to get a larger mole on my face removed by Dr. Shafa and she did an incredible job. I was so nervous because it was on my face but the staff were so comforting! Even though the procedure could've been done in 5 minutes, Dr. Shafa took extra time on the excision and stitching to make it look perfect. I got my stitches out 3 weeks ago and it has already healed SO much! I'm so happy with my results, the scar is barely noticeable and eventually will be invisible as it continues to heal. They are very up front about the pricing and there are no hidden fees. You even have the option if you want to send it to the lab or not if you know it is benign. I went in for my first appointment and I have been seeing her for a bit over 3 months now. My acne was so severe it was affecting me emotionally. Dr. Shafra, her office, & her staff, are super professional and caring to their patients needs and concerns. At first, Dr. suggested I might have to take Accutane (strong acting acne oral medication) when she first examined me. However, it would take some time to start that process to get approved, so, in the mean time, she prescribed me some medication and topical creams. After these 3 months so far, that was the cure for me. I didn't even have to get on Accutane; my face changed so much for the better. Dr. Shafa is a miracle worker!!! I have had this unsightly huge bruise/spider vein since playing soccer in my teens. I once had a treatment done before but it didn't work and I was discouraged until I stumbled upon Dr. Shafa's Groupon. I thought I'd give the spider vein treatment one more try and I am so thrilled that I did. After the first visit the results were amazing, but after the second there was barely anything there! I had my third and final treatment a couple weeks ago and the huge bruise is pretty much completely gone.
