Went on a Friday cuz I was in the mood for seafood. I ordered the mahi mahi sandwich with no fries and a tomato bisque soup. The girl at the register was polite but not friendly. Shortly after I sat at a table, the line got huge and the cashier worked really quickly despite having many questions from customers. The sandwich arrived, with fries, shortly after I got the soup. The soup was delicious. It had I think a few tortilla strips and cheese strips on top and the flavor was just so robust and good. The sandwich tasted fresh and the bun was so soft, although the fish had a strong "fishy" taste. The fries had Cajun seasoning and were pretty good even though I didn't really want any. The restaurant is very airy and nice with big windows and lots of natural light, as well as a large outdoor patio. Very pleasant area to have lunch with friends. They have happy hour on select appetizers and drinks (beer, wine, few cocktails) until 6pm during the week I think. If I was in the area, I would try it again. read more

Go to spot whenever I'm in OC. It is so much better than California fish grill, wish they had this in LA. The sides are so good. Best is the Brussels sprouts and they're generous with portions for all sides even the sweet potato fries. The fish is nicely cooked and good, the sides just take it to the top. Great value as well for a combo plate for under $20. It is a filling meal. They have nice outdoor and indoor seating so it's dog friendly. Outdoor is very nice ambiance with the decorations and sofas. Definitely a must visit. Parking is part of a larger plaza. Service is quick and kind. read more

Found my go to spot for some quality fish. Came here a couple weeks ago with my coworker during lunch and Seda took our order. I ordered the Barramundi Sea Bass Plate w/garlic sauce and my sides were sweet potato fries and grilled zucchini. This place has a very nice outdoor patio with water fountain accent snd vine leaves draped as shade coverings. Inside is spacious, bright with low and high tables and love their chill lounge music. Great place to dine in and relax during your lunch break. Overall, very nice set-up...I'm impressed! Not like California Fish Grill off of Barranca; small, dark and crowded; and their outdoor patio is small. Also, OC Fish Grill have desserts and it's displayed. I don't recall California Fish Grill has. I'm not sure don't quote me on this as they don't display it that's why I can't remember. I'm big on desserts. Today, I came in for lunch and this time I ordered their Taco Combo: Grilled Salmon and Battered Fish Tacos w/corn and coleslaw as my two sides. Oh boy was this so yummy!!! With pickled red onions, sauce, tomatoes, corn, and salsa on the side. Btw their water is clean, cold and tasty! I met Seda again and told her I'm bringing more friends to try this place. I have been going to this place since they first opened. I have been there plenty of times but somehow the place changed and now they force you to get French fries. I ordered an item from the menu that says pick two sides so I tried to pick something healthy and the girl who was working the counter, told me that I had to get french fries. I did question her, and she told me that her boss had made that decision, and now you have to get french fries as one of the sides. I am attaching a picture of what I got and you can clearly see that it says two sides. They are open for dining at the restaurant. They have a patio area for outdoor seating and some tables indoors. It looked like most people ate in their outdoor patio. I ordered food for takeout but ended up also eating at one of the tables outside. Staff were very friendly. I ordered the battered fish and chips with side of sweet potato fries and grilled zucchini. It was all delicious! The fish was perfectly crispy and still quite hot...tasted so good with the tartar sauce it came with. My husband and I were in the area and decided to give this spot a try. We are so glad we did! The food was so good. Tasted fresh and good quality. We ordered the fried calamari, fried green beans, fish and chips and salmon tacos plate. The two entrees came with two sides. I tried sweet potato fries and Cole slaw, and my husband got fries and Cole slaw. The calamari was our favorite ! From the batter to the light dressing they had on it and underneath the calamari, there some type of thin shredded cucumber salad. Delicious! No complaints on any of our entrees either! We ordered the grilled swai & salmon combo plate with brown rice and grilled eggplant and also the shrimp salad. Pleasantly surprised by the abundant amount of fish and shrimp. Mildly seasoned but that is my preference. The salad was tasty and well textured with candied walnuts, cranberries although kind of lacking in tomatoes and sprouts as specified on the l menu and also overdressed. Will ask for dressing on the side next time. Service is perfunctory with staff saying the absolute minimum to you required but who cares? Food is good, they bring it to you quickly. Stopped by for lunch. Gorgeous spot with very friendly staff. Suggestions they had were delicious. They subbed out grilled shrimp for fish on the kids meal for our son (no up charge). The Thai shrimp bowl was delicious--I wish there was more sauce. The fish and chips were very yummy. I think the fish was a hair undercooked, but didn't really affect us. The addition of grilled zucchini was a big win! Next time I come I'll be sure to come by for happy hour. The happy hour menu and prices are awesome. The line up of live entertainment at night was also impressive. Eating under their large and shady patio was a perfect lunch break. Bathroom is clean. There is outdoor and indoor dining. Surprisingly, it was much cooler outside than it was inside. You order your food and you get a number to bring to your table if you decide to dine in. Staff bring your food out to you. We ordered a salmon taco, fish and chips, and the kids chicken tenders. The fish melted in your mouth. The kids meal is a kids meal. Nothing special. The salmon taco was delicious. I'm a sucker for salsa on tacos. This place didn't get the full 5 stars because the cashier forgot to put in the salmon taco which was about 15 minutes after my family got their order. It was very obvious I was pregnant. Thankful for OC Fish Grill, food selection is decent, prepared well and service is friendly even though they are quite busy. Friday night jazz is a blast and there are simply not enough venues providing great artists and musicians exposure for their craft, so I give props to the ownership. Many come for wine, dinner and dessert to be treated so some of OC's best musicians and some of their students who they let sit in on the second set. No cover, but give the musicians a healthy tip as they clearly put in time shredding to become the heavy weight talents that they are. read more

I love coming for free live jazz on Friday nights! We get there for happy hour and then we stay for the music. Our favorite is when Elena Gilliam and her husband are playing. She has quite the voice. It's amazing! All the bands are great, but she is my favorite! Food is good too! I like the coconut shrimp, the calamari and the fish and chips. read more

Unfortunately, this restaurant is not as good as it once was. They get two stars for the food and that's it. The tacos taste good and fresh and so does their corn. A few months ago, this restaurant offered a good deal for Taco Tuesdays. 3 tacos for $8. They were regular sized tacos. It was a great and affordable deal. We ate there frequently. They then changed the offer to 2 tacos for $8. That was still a good deal. This week, we called in an order and was told that they had a deal for 3 tacos for $9. I was thinking that it would be a great offer. When my dad brought home our food, the tacos were miniature sized. Each taco was two or three bites big. It turned out to not be a good deal at all. Yes, the tacos tasted great but the portion sizes were mediocre at best. Good food can only go so far in a restaurant. read more

Oh man, I am not a fan of leaving bad reviews because I think that restaurants deserve a break from occasional blips, but what we experienced was just not acceptable. First, they took our order, payment, and tip at the register, gave us a table service number (which clearly means they know we intend to dine in). After 40 minutes, and everyone around us who arrived much later ALL got their food, I checked with the register to see what was going on. It took the lady a while to realized that they lost our order. OK, fine, mistakes happen -- but no apology. Then after another 20 minutes, I went back to check what happened. This time, they said they'd fix it right away -- again no apology. After another 10 minutes, they told us that it was ready right after we first ordered, but that it was just bagged away in the takeout section for the past hour+ -- still no apology. Then they took out the packed food that was sitting there for over an hour, put them on plates and served them... at room temperature, and no apology. I think the prepaid tip system at this restaurant really disincentivize the wait staff to care at all. This is the worst service quality I have experience in about a decade. read more
