Cigar lounges are popping up everywhere around the Tidewater area, and last week, I came across Magoos Cigar Lounge (established in 2021). Sitting at the corner of Main and Atlantic St in downtown Norfolk. Across the street, the Marriot Hotel and the Hilton are nearby, so the location is perfect for visitors. This cigar lounge is very roomy, with plenty of cozy seating spread out around the pound. Magoos have four TV monitors, mostly for sporting events and the news, and all seating is in good view of them. Plenty of stylish ashtrays are available, as are some really lovely coffee and end tables. Membership is available, and it comes with a locker. The exhaust system is top-notch, allowing for smoke to vent clearing, making for a good experience. The humidor is stocked with various premium cigars but is on the small side. I brought a nub there, and it burned a little slow, leading me to believe that the humidity was a little high in the humidor. I recommend buying any cigars there, letting them sit in your own humidor, and bringing something from home. I also thought the price was a little expensive, but there are some good smokes in there Water, coffee, energy drinks, and soda are also available. Cigar accessories, prep stations, and a pool table add a nice touch. The vibe is relaxed, and plenty of windows allow for a nice view. Open 11 am to 8 pm Monday through Thursday, 10 pm Friday and Saturday, and 6 pm Sunday. These hours can be flexible depending on special events. The humidor is well stocked. And in my experience so far of cigar lounges in this area, Emerson's has the mostly reasonably priced sticks. I will definitely make it back. Just not sure when because there are so many great breweries in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake. Most who are cigar friendly, or at least cigar accommodating. Plus there is an Emerson's in Chesapeake, which is currently closer to me.

One side is the smoke shop. Here you can get all your smoking needs. Cigarettes, vapes, and hookah. They have a large supply of everything you need depending on what you smoke. Not to mention Accessories, incense, fragrances, ashtrays, hookah tobacco, pipes and pipe tobacco, drinks, and snakes. The staff is super knowledgeable and the price is super nice. Now, The piece of resistance, The Cigar Lounge. This is located on the other side of the building. Once you walk in there is plenty of comfortable seating. TV monitors are conveniently located around the lounge. Seating is enough to sit small groups of 4. The lighting is perfect and the decor is fitting. It just gives off the perfect smoke experience. So I headed to the walk-in cigar humidor. When I walked in I inhaled the sweet smell of Spanish Cedar and the bold but beautiful smell of cigars. The aroma was just so pleasant to the nose. The temperature was cool and the humidity was perfect. I was like a kid in a candy store as I observed wall-to-wall boxes of cigars! It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!! There had to be over 1000 different brands and kinds of cigars. They were all neatly stacked and perfectly displayed. Chiba, LFG, CAO, Padermo, Eloria, Acid, Cubans, Nicaragua, Dominican cigars, and I too many to name. Seriously, you have to see it for yourself cause I can't adequately explain it. Why I didn't take a photo is beyond me, I guess it was because I was so overwhelmed! As I browsed the selection, I kept finding a cigar I had never seen before. They all looked so good and it smelled so delicious in there. I went up and down each wall grabbing the best I was aware of. The selection of cigars was endless, so many I have not heard of. The ones I was aware of, have been featured in famous cigar magazines like Aficionada. All brands were still in their box just open. The price was well displayed on each box and easy to find. Halfway through by browsing experience, Victor one of the sales clerks can in to talk to us. I spoke with him later. After getting about six sticks, I headed to check out, Victor was there to wait on me. We engaged in a conversation to find out we were both retired military veterans. We laughed about past encounters and talked about "the new navy." It was a good time. Victor showed me some other cigar accessories in which I purchased a lighter. They don't give military discounts which is something I'm finding more and more in areas with a large military presence, I think Virginia Beach is the worst but that's another topic. As we left I had a smile on my face from ear to ear. I was already planning my next visit there. Just amazed by the quality, service, selection, and environment.
