Our garbage disposal started leaking on Sunday and we needed someone quickly. The companies we used before weren't available until Wednesday and couldn't give me a quote without coming out. I sent messages to several companies on Yelp and Inheritance Plumbing responded within minutes. Their service fee was $125 but waived if we approved service, which seemed fair. Chris estimated a 3:00pm arrival but later texted that he was delayed. He didn't arrive until 5:00pm. Once here, he quoted $785 to replace the disposal. Based on my research, average cost is usually $400-$500. I asked for details and was told the price included a 50% markup on the disposal plus a $350 flat fee. I reluctantly approved because our schedule didn't allow us to wait longer without a working kitchen sink. Afterward, I looked up the exact disposal and saw it cost $200 at Home Depot. Even with a 50% markup (which I also think is high) that would be $300. I also know that businesses don't pay customer costs so that seemed really high. Add in the $350 labor, and the total should have been closer to $650. With cash and first time customer discounts, we paid just under $700, but I still feel this was significantly higher than fair market pricing. I later spoke with two friends who own plumbing companies, and they confirmed that the price should not have exceeded $500. We also run a few businesses and I understand needing to cover overhead and labor costs, but this felt more like an "emergency fee" than a standard labor charge and feel like we were price gouged. I called 2 more reputable local companies the morning after and both quoted under $400. As a consumer we would expect fair pricing and this was definitely not fair. Overall, the work was completed professionally and same-day, but the pricing was much higher than other companies. For that reason, I personally would not use this company again.

I was in need of a replacement toilet so I checked Yelp for some suggestions on a good plumber to…read moredo the job. I was impressed by the positive comments about Wedgeworth Plumbing so I filled out the Yelp form to request a quote. (Note: If you want to get a quote, don't bother with the Yelp form. Just pick up the phone and call them directly! All the Yelp form does is add a delay in response time!) Within a couple of days I had a plumber (and his apprentice) at my home to check out what I needed. They gave me a reasonable price estimate and let me know there might be additional cost if the flange under the toilet needed repair or replacement. Because their quoted price was reasonable I decided to go ahead with them for the work. They were able to schedule the work quickly and the plumber came back, new toilet in hand, and did a quality job! The flange was in good shape so I avoided the extra expense I had been warned about. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work Wedgeworth did for me, and I'll be calling them again the next time I need a plumber.

It passed inspection and all boxes were checked. What I like about Shawn and Latham is teamwork. While Shawn was wrapping my water heater installation in the attic, Latham was doing working on another plumbing issue in my kitchen under my sink. Both were highly professional and skilled in meeting League City rigorous standard and code. Most of all, this company is affordable and do quality work. I always feel like I get immense value when I hire them for any plumbing job. They make recommendations and I have learned to trust their judgment. Over the last few months, I hire them for my bathroom, kitchen, and water heater installation needs. If you need a fantastic plumber, call Wedgeworth plumbing and ask for Shawn and Latham. A.
