Obento is a functional place to sooth your ramen craving. It's mostly a Japanese shop with some take-away food and a couple of tables. Sushi, ramen, katsu, etc.
I took home two types of ramen: shoyu and tonkotsu. The soup bases have a lot of depth, but the portions are skimpy for the price. In Grønland area you expect great values, but Obento had 140-kr tonkotsu in a small bowl with only one slice of meat. The taste is authentic, but not particularly impressive. (Authentic doesn't always mean greatness. Even in Japan you have good and bad cooks of ramen. Imagine Obento as a regular Japanese home cook.) At least it's not pretentious like some ramen-hipster wannabes.
The preparation was too slow even with no other customers, so it can't be a quick take home for dinner place. read more
