Most importantly things always look clean and fresh! I have tried out a handful of different dishes, both sushi and thai-dishes, and I am generally very happy with my food. I love their curries, and I feel like their portions are generous. The staff is always polite and friendly, but they might miss your call during prime time because they get very busy and do not have the capacity to deal with it. However, I would still call ahead to order takeout, that way you do not have to sped 20-30 minutes waiting for your order. Definitely recommend for Lambertseter locals who are looking for a good sushi/Thai place.

Honestly we never have gone in because we assumed based on review comments and the Yelp $$$ signs that it was too pricey, but we learned it's not cheap how ever you get what you pay for!! Do not leave here without trying the Valcano Roll... it's not really a roll, it's a pile of deliciousness piled with shrimp deliciousness. It's huge, and at NOK185 it's a bargain... definitely enough to feed two, unless you're feeling extremely porky (like my husband). We also ordered noodles that were really good, not too salty and of decent portion. We also got a salmon roll which had huge chunks of fish on it, I believe it was NOK95? Anyway, good prices for what you get, really good friendly service, and they have a great patio too!!! EAT HERE PEOPLE! Now!

Jonoe has quickly become my favourite local sushi place, and I eat here about once a month…read more The sushi is quite innovative, and they offer combinations I haven't seen at other sushi places. Also (a crucial point), they are very good at creating flavour combos that work well. The quality of fish (which is my main judging criterion for sushi) is excellent. I always order the sashimi with ponzu sauce. Although not the best in town, the maki rolls are well-made - it must be said that they often are somewhat too large, making it difficult to eat in one bite. The sushi is also always beautifully presented, which I think is an important point when eating sushi at a restaurant (as opposed to having take-away). The staff usually consists of two waiters, where one is extremely friendly, and the other is much less so. This has become something of an amusement, and doesnt bother me too much.

The sushi at Hanami looked terrific, but for me its about the modern fusion dishes. I had seafood risotto with a core of sherbet. Just fantastic. Best miso soup I've ever had, hands-down. Though, my first impression was that it looked like a really small portion for the price (at least when you are not eating the rice). The pieces are no big sashimi chunks, but the same size as you would get on a nigiri. And then there was the ponzu sauce. I'm really no fan of ponzu sauce with sashimi to begin with (and would have asked for soy instead if I known in time what was included) but this one was really not good, very sweet and with a synthetic feel - reminding me more of a cheap sallad dressing than anything else. Not at all what I'm looking for with a fresh sashimi. Except from the sauce, the sashimi tasted good. The fish was fresh and the the portion (although small) was filling. All and all: this is a good place for a weekday dinner - but stay away from the ponzu sauce, and you'll probably get more value for your money with a sushi.
