I spent the winter developing a swing…read more I was already a decent golfer. I'd broken 40 in league on occasion. Even stung two together and broke 80 at Fox Hills once. But in 50 years of golf I could never draw the ball. Everything sort of faded right (except for the occasional dead pull). I always wanted to shape the ball. Hit that nice high draw. How nice it would be to have that weapon in the bag? So I signed up for 15 lessons, a swing evaluation and 6 months of simulator time. It cost what you'd expect to pay for 16 lessons. The things I didn't know about the golf swing! Here I was concerned my coach was so young I had clubs older than he was. How could I possibly need that many lessons? Turns out I needed that many lessons because that's how many I could fit in before league started. This is a gym with a personal trainer. You need to show up consistently train your mussel memory and develop a proper swing. Your coach has cameras and swing statistics on a computer telling him how every element is moving in space throughout the entire swing. That's the easy part. His experience, training, resources allow him to provide the feedback and encouragement you need to actually see progress. Well I'm happy to report it was well worth the time and money. My entire swing has changed. I've learned to draw the ball, but I can also fade the ball when I choose to. But mostly I just bomb it straight down the fairway. It's not perfect and my scoring hasn't changed THAT much. It's just way more consistent. So there it is, you get what you pay for. A life long skill that will greatly improve your enjoyment of a game you're gonna play for years. Years from now you'll think it was cheap.

Mickey's seems to be well maintained and the staff is always friendly. Prices are very reasonable and if you add the putting green to your experience, you can use the grass range! There are some covered areas but most of it is in the sun. I decided about a month ago that I was going to try to learn golf I took my first ever lesson from Steve. He was great! There was a great balance of stories, explanation and instruction. I wasn't even holding the club correctly, so he fixed that right away! What a difference! I will be back for practice and some more lessons!

The outside is very non- descript; feels like you're walking into some kind of discount warehouse to buy knockoff goods or something. Once inside though, it's comfortable and welcoming, with great music playing all the time. The bays are good sized, especially the two up front. The back bays can get crowded and only one bathroom can be difficult to manage with 20 guys hitting and drinking. Prices are a bit steep too so bring your wallet. Three hours and several beers later, you're hitting almost $100 with tip during prime hours (weekends mostly). But the waitstaff, when a full staff is on duty, is on top of it. Had a great waitstaff recently and never went thirsty. They also have an air fryer for snacks and minimal food. Wish I could afford to go more often. I will say, the putting portion of the sim is ridiculous. Err on the side of caution and hit lighter than you normally would. Lipping- out happens regularly in the game and you gotta be flush on to sink it. It's 16' to the screen from the putting surface but get it inside 6- 7' and you can concede the hole with an additional stroke added. Overall I'll go back to hack away but not as often as I'd like. It puts a hurting in your wallet. But if you get a group of people to go with it can lighten the load. Recommend keeping it to 4 or less to really play every hole and swing, unless you wanna play for six hours or so. Great for parties or gatherings, like birthdays though! Rent the entire 5 bays out and have the place to yourself but call ahead cause they book up quick! Hope they expand or open another location in the area cause I'd love to join a winter league there.

I currently play in a golf league here and it is very well-run compared to other leagues I have played in. The manager of the league does a great job communicating and the staff is great. The course itself is challenging, with some impossible greens. However, it's still golf, and it's hard to complain about that. The front 9 is significantly more difficult than the back, with many creeks in challenging locations and a green that's atop a huge hill. The course definitely could use some work and needs some TLC, but I think they're committing to mkaing improvements. I could see this course being in great shape in a couple of years.

I assume they're going to say something along the lines of a third party fee... but I missed the part where that's my problem. I followed their 24-hour cancellation guideline. I will not be back, which is unfortunate, because I live so close to them.
