From what I understand, this course is under relatively new ownership that is working to make improvements. I currently play in a golf league here and it is very well-run compared to other leagues I have played in. The manager of the league does a great job communicating and the staff is great. The course itself is challenging, with some impossible greens. However, it's still golf, and it's hard to complain about that. The front 9 is significantly more difficult than the back, with many creeks in challenging locations and a green that's atop a huge hill. The course definitely could use some work and needs some TLC, but I think they're committing to mkaing improvements. I could see this course being in great shape in a couple of years. read more

Made a good review here a while back and I take it all back booked a teatime online for nine holes pretty pricey for the course. Walked in And went to check in rude man who looked like he peaked in high school with a Titleist visor on who decently needed to be raked down a peg Screamed across the clubhouse how old are you? I replied 16. He then said let me see your license. I offered to show him a picture while I was talking he interrupted and said I don't wanna see that and he got aggressive and said I don't if you don't have a license you're not playing and it was very rude about it not to mention he was screaming at a couple of minors. Startled because I just got verbally harassed after paying 35 dollars for 9 holes of mediocre golf just to get yelled at. Side note I've gotten a cart at least 10 times from this place and the one time I was denied ranger let me have one anyway I booked the tee time online and since I was made to walk I asked for the cart fee back to which I was denied because "it was through a third party service" I asked how to get my money back. He said I could not disappointing most staff here are nice especially the older men and younger women I know from experience but one bad apple ruined this corse for me I advise you do not come here read more

My husband played a round with my SIL and FIL today. It's a decent course and was fairly easy to play. It's quite hilly too. The greens were a bit wet today, but it was a nice course to walk. It's $20 to walk for 9 holes. $15 for a cart here, a bit pricey. read more

Hate leaving a bad review because it might just be a bad day but it was BAD. Went for a quick 9 holes and spent close to 3 hours here. Tee times are not spread out at all, you'll probably be waiting in your cart for 20 minutes at each hole. Even called the clubhouse to try and speed things up since the people in front of us were hitting 2 balls each but the pace of play stayed the same even after that. This course is in poor condition. Played 18 today, and at $42, it is overpriced. Several of the ball washers were dry, and many didn't have a towel. The greens were in poor condition and very slow. The clubhouse staff was courteous. The restrooms were dirty. A hotdog and two beers were $16. read more

Golfed at hilltop top today it was backed up but Beth the cart girl was amazing she kept us hydrated and displayed amazing customer service. She made what could have been Miserable 18 holes completely amazing. I've never had that kind of outstanding service on aGolf course. Don't come here if you value your time, health, or dignity. Played an afternoon tee time, where my golf partner and I waited at least 5 minutes at every tee box for the backlog to clear, if not more. 18 holes took 5.5 hours. The clubhouse clearly states "no mask, no service," but NO STAFF in the clubhouse were wearing masks. It is appalling considering they are serving food. I was then insulted repeatedly by the staff when I was inside, to the point of being chided, being repeatedly called "kiddo" when I asked for the side that was listed on the menu as coming with the food that I ordered. If you can survive the unsafe conditions and rude staff, wait until the 14th green when you can't putt because the green is completely coated in goose poop. Not only does that destroy your golf round, but that is purely not hygienic. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Slow back swing, stand on my tip toes as I follow through and pinch my cheeks...now kill the ball!!!! Oh crap...I hit another car. OK...It must not have been yours or you would have broken my window...I know, I deserved it. I hate the first hole. People watching to see if you play as welll as you dress. It's right next to the parking lot and if the tees are back a little it's possible to shank it...unlesss of course you're a good golfer. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Do not waste your money here!! The only positive thing I have to say about this place is that the bartender was very nice. The ranger followed us around the whole time yelling and tried to tell us the golf cart had to stay on the concrete the entire time. Do not go to this course. The course is in awful shape, not worth $40 on a weekday evening. We had a 6-some of women in front of us. They defended it by saying they were scrambling, but it was the most frustrating golf experience of my life. It should never take 2 hours and 45 minutes to finish 9 holes that are less than 3000 yards. I base this review largely on the fact that I play twilight here and nothing else. Most nights I could walk 9 holes at 5 or 6PM for $10. This course lives up to the "Hilltop" name, with sloped greens i require a delicate touch. I also have been very frustrated playing here because the fairways are very narrow and lined with trees so I've lost many a ball. That being said, playing here will make a normal course feel very wide open! I wouldn't pay normal daytime greens fees here, but for the twilight deals, you just can't beat it! read more

This is not a review of the golf course. Hilltop offers footgolf, but they need to stop. Wife and I came out on a Sunday afternoon and their footgolf "course" is very much an afterthought. The map they provided is little to no help and the holes are laid out with no thought at all. You will either annoy golfers, get hit by a golf ball, or get lost if you attempt to play footgolf at this course. By far the worst course I've ever been to. I hate any golf course that packs people in for more money. Tee times were maybe 5 minutes apart so we were log jammed on every single hole. Also, we were stuck behind a league (and were NEVER notified of such) of all walkers. We had to skip 3-4 holes just to get around them. It was a big disappointment. There are way too many issues to list, but here are a few of them: - There were weeds everywhere - The grass was too long - The course layout was atrocious - There are virtually no signs along the holes so you can get lost and miss holes easily - Tee times are spread by maybe five minutes, so be prepared to have people on your back the entire time - The course is too hilly and there are tree roots on the cart path everywhere - Holes are WAY too close together so you can easily get distracted and hit a ball on different hole - There is virtually NO rough on any hole. It's the fairway or the woods or another hole. It was a joke I found this course via Groupon and will never be returning. This was an absolutely monstrosity and the worst golfing experience of my life. read more

Do not pay more than $14 to play this course with a cart. Gimmicky, covered with leaves, greens that have the undulation of Augusta National without 1% of the conditioning, terrible sand traps and man-made objects stuck in the middle of fairways -- pipes, berms, tree stumps, etc. Now granted, we played there yesterday (Nov. 7, 2015) and the leaves are off the trees. But obviously unlike other golf courses that blow the leaves into the woods, or at least the rough, Hilltop doesn't think this is a good idea. We were losing balls that were literally in the middle of fairways and less than 10 feet from the greens and that is unacceptable. I really like the course layout, tried it 3 times, but I will not come again bases on following bad experiences The first time I had to wait 45 min because no cart was available. The second time I was asked to leave after hole 8 because they needed my cart because of a golf outing. I was offered a rain check, but I didn't care. Wanted to play the full 18 on that day. I love this course. However, on Sunday May 3rd I notice a line outside waiting for golf Carts. however, I proceeded to check in for my 1:39 tee time only to find out the computer system was down. I still was able to check in with Shawn. I walked outside and was told by another customer they were out of carts. As fellow golfer finished their round of golf people were obtain their carts in the parking lot and myself and fellow golfer were standing there without any recourse. I walked inside and informed Shawn and this guy jump into action. He stop the people in the parking lot and made everyone feel good about the wait and the golf cart issue. Actually the location is the best thing about this course it is easy to get to from any of the western suburbs. It is not as easy as it would appear on the on the score card. Realistically about half the holes are birdie holes but the par threes are tough and there is a lot of change in elevation tee to green. The only really negative is the grounds crew/management could put some more time into making this into a better playable course. The traps and greens are for the most part sub par from a maintenance standpoint especially early and late in the season. read more

No GAM markers. Yardage markers on some holes, lacking on many. Greens in fair condition considering the recent weather. Some tee boxes too close to adjoining fairways. Saw crabgrass in the some fairways. Worst part, bad attitude at the pro shop, requiring an address for "liability or accident issues" I suppose if I get hurt on the course they will send my wife a letter.
