She set me up with some calming tea and brought me to a private changing area with a locker for my belongings. Everyone in the vicinity checked in to make sure I was doing ok. I was worried that because I had arrived late, I would eat up some of my massage time. No siree! They moved my massage to start when I was ready to begin. I booked the 90 minute Nuansa classic massage. You know how some places start the clock before you've sat down and finish the massage early (aka you pay for an hour and it's only about 45 minutes)? Well! That's not the case here! I got all 90 minutes of my massage. The massage itself: not to be believed. Lukkana started by saying "time to relax". And boy did I. Let me tell you one thing about me - I have the most ticklish legs of anyone I've ever met. Usually, when I have my legs massaged, I kick a hole in the wall and the masseuse files for a lawsuit (this is an exaggeration). Well! Somehow, Lukkana was able to work the muscles in my leg without triggering my dainty ticklish reflexes. I was astonished! Then, you know how sometimes you ask for a firm touch and you get jelly hands? Or the other way around and you're walking out with bruises? The place is a tiny bit hard to find, so look for the big American flag and go in the door under it. It's an upscale building and spa. They don't have the spa amenities you might think of when I say upscale, but they are so good at what they do they don't need frills. Trust me, they will take care of you!

I was surprised at her strength and she literally almost had me so relaxed, I could have drooled while on the table. She did full back, legs, hips and arms. She didn't have me flip over but I got exactly what I needed so I felt no way about that. When she was done, she thanked me and I proceeded to get dressed and be on my way. I was a bit disappointed to see that it looked nothing like the picture and it was fake rose petals which I thought was weird. I'll give them an A for effort though although it looked nothing like the picture. The massage was amazing. She did a really great job. Most of my massages are pretty rough but she did a great job with light to medium pressure. I really liked the glass of champagne and the chocolate truffles. The private soak was nice but I really enjoyed the sauna. It was definitely a great experience. Came out feeling revitalized. My boyfriend really enjoyed the massage and the amenities.

ZERO STARS. DO NOT COME HERE. THIS IS NOT A SPA EXPERIENCE. Worst massage experience of my life in…read moreany country. Terrible technique. Disgusting hygiene. A 40% mandatory tip posted on the wall. A "cash is better" front desk. A masseur who had to be yelled for like a dog. Real physical pain a full day later. Read this and run. Walked in at 5:35pm for a 90-minute foot massage. Walked into dark room where masseur was sitting in dark, chilling. Told to sit down. Sat 10 minutes while the masseur walked away. First red flag. He came over to start with shoulders, which is standard for Chinese reflexology. I declined and asked for feet and legs only. He dropped my feet in a basin of hot water and disappeared again. Unprofessional from the first second. Once the massage started, it was clear this man has no technique. Zero. 90 minutes of brainless squeezing, yanking, and grinding like he was aggressively scrubbing a pot. No skill. No rhythm. No pressure control. He seemed nice enough as a person. This is just not the job for him. I have hairy legs and he used so little product the friction was unbearable. It felt like rug burn. I told him during the massage. He kept going. I asked for less pressure. He kept going. I asked for more product. He barely adjusted. It is now past 11:15 the next morning and my legs are STILL on fire. Every hair follicle feels inflamed and yanked at the root. Skin feels raw. I woke up in pain. That is not a massage. That is sanding someone's legs down for 90 minutes. Hygiene was vile. He repeatedly plunged his bare hand into an old communal jar of product, smeared it on my bare feet, and dunked right back in. Over and over. No spatula. No pump. No scoop. Just bare hands, bare feet, and one shared open jar collecting skin oils and dead skin from every client before me. NY State requires massage establishments to keep equipment and supplies in a clean and sanitary manner, and double-dipping bare hands into shared product between clients?! This is exactly the kind of sanitation issue that gets businesses written up. The front desk woman seems sweet for 30 seconds. Then, unprompted: "yeah, cash is better." Universal red flag for no paper trail. Combined with everything else, the place is shady. Tipping policy is insulting. Posted on the wall: $20 per hour of service. On a $75, 90-minute massage, that is a mandated $30 tip. 40%. For service this horrible. That is a shakedown, not a tip. After the massage, he vanished again. No thank you. No water. No goodbye. The front desk woman had to yell for him like she was calling a dog. And this is the man collecting a mandatory 40% tip! When asked how it was, and I told her the massage was honestly bad, she did not even ask why. No follow-up. No apology. No concern. Just blank indifference, like complaints are a daily occurrence. She was already pressing the elevator button and standing at the door, ready to flush me out before anyone overheard. I have had hundreds of massages in dozens of countries. Hotel spas, neighborhood shops, luxury resorts, at random beach cabanas, night markets, and even sessions with blind therapists whose technique was extraordinary. This was an able-bodied man with full use of his eyes and hands, and he managed to deliver the worst massage of my life! Every glowing review here and on Google is a lie. Fake, planted, or written by people who have never had a real massage. No honest person walks out of here and calls it good. Take your money and your dignity literally anywhere else. AVOID. RUN.

I've been to Oasis twice and the 2nd time won me over. The first time was just OK. I'm not even going to bother going into details because I think that most of it was preferential and not anything to be held against them. The 2nd time I had Tammy as my masseuse and she was INCREDIBLE. It was New Year's Day and I decided that morning that my chronic neck and back pain (muscle spasms) were not a good way to start 2014! So I called Oasis and all they had was a 30 minute available. Understandable, I called at 10am that day! I took it, because I needed it. Tammy right away understood what my problem areas were and what I needed to feel relief. I booked a Swedish but asked for as much pressure as she could give without it being deep tissue. She got it JUST RIGHT. She also knew that I only had 30 minutes and right away said she'd make the most of it, and she definitely did. Sometimes masseurs/masseuses will walk away for 30 seconds or so, to get more oil or to take a rest, I don't know...haha. But Tammy knew I NEEDED this and our time was limited so she never took more than a second to get more oil and then she was back at it. It was pretty much continuous for the whole 30 mins, in the exact problem areas I showed her. This was on New Year's Day...I walked straight out and booked a 90 minute full body Muscle Meltdown with her for Saturday (only 3 days later!). I cannot WAIT for tomorrow! The 30 mins helped as a quick fix, but I can't wait to have 90 whole minutes of relief! I guess that the only reason I left off a star is because it IS a bit outdated (the common areas) and red...not very relaxing "spa-like" decor. And in the locker room that day, the steam room seemed to not be working, there was a light out in one of the showers making it unusable, and the shower I was in kept fluctuating between freezing or scalding. It was actually a pretty unpleasant way to end a VERY pleasant massage! But its not enough to keep me away! Mostly just posting this so that they know about it. read more

This is mostly in defense of Oasis and their microdermabrasion facial, to whoever said that you should go to the Mandarin Oriental (?!??) to get microdermed. I regularly get microdermabrasion for acne scar treatment at my dermatologist's office, and I initially was kinda iffy when my fiance bought me an Oasis microderm for a birthday gift. I was even more skeptical when I read that review here about the Oasis microderm. But my fiance assured me that Oasis is the best, and that IF I get bad skin from a facial that he bought me, he'll be fully responsible. So I went, and it was the best microderm I've ever had. At my dermatologist's office, they usually just do the crystal blasting thing, dust off the crystals off of my face, and pat on some Eucerin. My face will be red and swollen for the next 5 days. At Oasis, the microderm facial cost LESS than the procedure at my doctor's office - plus it's a real facial. They do the cleansing (in what seems like a 20-step process: love it!!), the microderm, a mask, a shoulder massage, and this awesome hand treatment where my hands were massaged with this great-smelling cream and then encased in these warm gloves. My facialist, whose name begins with an S and I wish I remember her name so I can recommend her!!!, asked me if I needed extractions done as I don't have many blackheads but have sensitive skin, and I said no. My face (still a bit red from the procedure), neck, shoulders, and arms were soft like a baby's bum by the end of the 60-minute facial (but I was really in there for like 75 minutes). In the end I got the same results as the $350 procedure from my doctor's office, except that the redness went away in one night. I'll be going back to Oasis for microderm from now on - and I really really want to try the pedicure with hot rocks!!! read more

2009 has been unkind to me. I know that most people are hurting now, but this year so far I feel like I was being punished for something bad from a past life. My sisters said I just need to relax, and I will feel better. I did not believe that it would help me when they gave me a Gift Certificate for Oasis Day Spa, but I am a believer now. From the moment I stepped into the spa this weekend, I was treated like a queen. My massage erased the tension this year has brought upon me, last night I slept well for the first night in months. My facial gave me a beautiful glow. The Salt Scrub was relaxing as well, I wish I could have that shower at my house! The only "problem" was, when I checked out, the lovely receptionist gave me a postcard of Oasis' new spa in Westchester - it has an outside garden!! But alas it was too far from me. Perhaps for my birthday in a few months, I will ask for a day trip to Westchester, just to experience their Rooftop Massage. I wonder if they can serve margaritas LOL. My daughter had a decent experience but my Facialist was not up to par as I am used to. While my aesthetician was nice, her facial abilities were mediocre. Her touch was so soft, it was almost irritating, not soothing, and I brought up that I wanted to tackle my congestion and she barely pushed on my nose, chin and forehead, with the lightest touch that probably did nothing, and my skin didn't look any more cleansed than before I went in. I am also used to at least getting a bit of a shoulder, neck and head massage while waiting for the mask to dry but once again her touch was feather light and it was more ticklish than anything. I feel like I spent $ on just getting a lot of creams slathered on my face and that's it. My skin doesn't look any more glowy or clearer afterwards. Not going back. This was my first and last time going to Oasis. The staff quickly brings you back to change into robes and then they have you wait in a room with around 15 other people, which was not calming at all. The massage rooms are cold and dark, the products they use have no aroma and were not moisturizing at all. The worst part was after my massage. When I went into the locker room to try out the steam room I found around 6-8 women changing loudly running around. The amenities are minimal, and the steam room was uncomfortable as well. The showers felt unclean and all I could think was "get your clothes on and run." Not to mention the 3 loud women standing around stark naked complaining. I went to New York to visit my sister. She took me to Oasis Day Spa because she knew i was a spa fanatic. My first impression was clean, fresh and comfortable. Although, there was nothing unique or eye popping. The receptionist was very sweet and polite. We had the Side by Side Massage (for two in one room) About 1 hr of Swedish body massage for each person. My masseuse was fabulous. She was very quiet and gentle which I liked. I felt relaxed. I fell asleep at one point which was wonderful. I am glad my sister took me here for this treat. Nothing is better than having a good massage after a long flight. Too bad I do not live in New York. I had an amazing experience at Oasis Day Spa. The ladies at the front were very friendly and they took great care of me. I've been to a lot of spas in various cities and states and I was very pleased to find on in New York that I plan to return to. I had 60 minute Swedish massage with Mary and it was wonderful! They have a relaxing waiting room with teas and waters to replenish you. You will also have the option of relaxing in their sauna and or taking a nice warm shower. I will also add that I am a plus size woman and they gave me a robe that fit comfortably. Overall this is a place that I would highly recommend. read more

I LOVE Kevin A (Aquino) massage therapist. I am a designer on computer and a dancer. I have a history of significant back pain to the point it freezes up and I cant turn my head. This is problematic since I need to be able to make part of make a living dancing. Since I have been getting massages with Kevin A I have not been locked up. I book a weekly appointment with Kevin A and he does wonders for my pain. His deep tissue massage is powerful and gets out my knots like no other. His positive energy and consistant "glass is half full attitude" puts my mind in the right place too. Kevin A gets two thumbs up! read more

Oasis at One Park Avenue is my oasis. From the moment I arrive, escaping beneath the streets of NYC, the scent of the candles take me. The polite and friendly staff welcome me, and the sauna soothes me. The massages are the perfect cure for ALL of the tiny, and not so tiny knots that take over my back. I guess it is good for them that they are so busy. The disadvantage is the burned out massage therapists. I had a massage today from a lady who could not do deep tissue massage even though that is what i asked for. She told me that I am her 7th client in the day and her wrists are hurting from overwork. She also said they dont get paid enough at this spa, that is why often the therapists have to work a double shift. I dont want to be the therapist's 7th client in the day, so i am giving this spa a 2 star review. read more

I have been going to Oasis now for many years and I've been seeing Holly for my waxing and facials. She is fabulous! I used to go to other locations and would sometimes have a reaction but I've never had any problems or reactions since I've been seeing Holly. She also does a great facial and I wouldn't go anywhere else. If you are looking for waxing or facial services, ask for Holly. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommended in general, a garden of Eden in the middle of the crowded city... if you ask me my favorite is the Oasis Purity Wrap!!! You will be back and thank me I promise you, I'm not easy to be satisfied, and I sure am... I gave it only 4 prices because of the ridiculously high prices of the manicure and the wax. This was my first time visiting Oasis Day Spa and I loved everything about it. Everyone on staff was kind and helpful. The detox body wrap with Hala was amazing and relaxing. The Swedish massage by Stefon was soothing to the aches I had in my muscles and my facial with Sandra left my skin glowing. All COVID-19 precautions and safety measures were followed. I had a gift card given to me since September 2019, but due to Covid that kept me from using it before. I was very impressed with the ambience of the facility and the professionalism of the staff. I had a massage and the masseuse asked me what pressure I wanted. Told him I would let him know. I had some shoulder mobility issues, but I left feeling so much better. Great spa I've ever been to! I had an amazing hot lava stone massage. I have seriously never felt anything like it and I am a spa junkie. Afterwards I had a great 30 min facial - for free. I've been coming here for years although I admit not often enough. Evelyn is the best esthetician hands down!! She is the only one allowed to touch my face. She is so knowledgeable and professional. Oasis is one of my favorite spa's. I love going there to get the scrubs and wraps. The over head showers in the rooms are ideal. You don't have to get up and hop to the shower and shower off. Your technician will do it for you. My technician was fabulous and caring. I walk away feeling like a baby. "Nice and Smooth." This year I have been there twice. I must say, the establishment exudes serenity as soon as you arrive. The female (Cathy) at the front desk greeted me warmly and offered me something to drink. Since they didn't have coffee, I went ahead and had the life changing ginger tea. Took a moment to complete a bit of paperwork work being that it was my first time there. As soon as I was finished, I was greeted by my masseuse who provided me with a deep tissue massage upon request. To my surprise, the woman at the front desk (Cathy) performed my facial. Goes to show that everyone there is skilled and not just there to provide a pretty friendly face. She educated me on which facial products to use versus what not to use. Also, spoke about how beneficial the electrical currents are for your skin. One thing I would say would've been great was if my masseuse was a Male instead. I just feel that males can naturally apply more pressure without exerting much energy than a female can. After having been to spas all over the city for facials I am happy to commend madison spa (Irina) to be a great revelation. Here's what my first facial was like: The place is tucked in between streets on Madison Avenue. It's got nice treatment rooms. Irina (she did my facial) definitely knows what goes into keeping skin relaxed and happy. I went in with slightly blotchy skin and acne scars. She analysed my skin before making suggestions as to what kind of a facial was best suited for me. She was honest about my skin and how I could treat it better. Also not once during the two hour facial, did she push any product endorsement on me (big plus). Irina then proceeded to treat my skin for two hours (including treatment time for face packs). My facial included a mini micro derm, an oxygen facial and extractions. She was very thorough without pinching my skin. The best part about this facial was that the next day my skin was actually not red or more blotchy than usual. I received my fair share of compliments over the next few days as my skin looked rested and happy. I would love to go back there and see how this feels after 3-4 facials. Definitely recommend.

I repeatedly asked the massage therapist to go lighter because the pressure was causing discomfort, but the massage continued to be painful. Before the massage, I did not have the level of back pain that I experienced afterward. Since the massage, my back has been hurting significantly. After the massage ended, I attempted to leave. I told the staff that I would send a tip once I got home because I wanted time to decide how much I wanted to give. The first woman at the spa continued pressuring me to send the tip immediately and would not accept that I planned to do it after leaving. She showed me a QR code for a Zelle payment and instructed me to send the tip through it. I attempted to leave the spa after this continued pressure, but I was then followed outside by a second woman. I again explained that I would send the tip when I got home, but she would not accept that. She insisted that I send the tip immediately and asked me to show her proof that I had done so. I sent a $30 tip through Zelle using the QR code provided by the first woman. After I showed the second woman proof of the $30 payment, she insisted that I had not sent it and attempted to use my phone herself to send an additional $30 payment. I took my phone back before she could complete the additional payment. The entire interaction made me feel extremely pressured and uncomfortable. I felt like I was not free to leave without providing a tip, and the Zelle payment was not given voluntarily. I did not know whose Zelle account I was sending money to; I was only provided a QR code and instructed to make the payment. Strangest and worst experience I've ever had getting a massage.

When I walked in, the receptionist just stared at me like I was interrupting her very important work of doing absolutely nothing. No "hi," no "welcome," not even a nod. Not the warmest start, but okay, I came for relaxation, not charm school. Thankfully, my massage therapist was a dream. I was ready to float out the door until I reached the front desk again. I told the receptionist I didn't have cash for a tip and asked if I could Venmo. Nope. Then came the kicker: you can use a credit card but there's a $6 flat fee. Not 6%. Six actual, American dollars. For a $20 tip, that's a 30% surcharge! For comparison, most businesses charge a modest 2-4% fee. This felt less like a tip and more like a penalty. Another woman checking out at the same time didn't have cash either and got the same spiel. She sighed, shrugged, and paid the fee too...misery loves company, I guess. To top it off, once I paid, the receptionist didn't even say thank you. She just grimaced. Bottom line: Fantastic massage, but the front desk vibe and tip gouging left a sour taste. I came in to relieve tension, not pick up more. Won't be back.

The space seemed very clean during my visit. The therapists had face masks on and there were hand sanitizers throughout the space. Adam has good skills and all the elements that I love in a massage treatment were there. I left euphoric.
