I stumbled upon this place when my regular esthetician was booked and I couldn't get an appointment... I needed a facial badly. I am so glad I chose Cherish and that I found Carmen. She is AMAZING!! I had the best facial of my life, I have brown skin and always had trouble finding someone who knows how to handle it or use the right product or use the proper technique that is required for my skin type. I got a Groupon for a 45 minute facial and 60 minute massage. I was a little wary because there are so few reviews, but it was a good deal. After going, my thought is the reviews are fake. Facilities - not bad looking overall. Tables and chairs looked a little worn but decent. The room in which my facial and massage took place was HOT! I am always freezing cold and I was almost uncomfortably warm. The weirdest thing is that the rest rooms are in a common hallway and you need a key to get in...a little ghetto. Facial - not bad for a Groupon. It was just a cleanse and exfoliation. Dermoligica products, which I liked. Carman gave me a great shoulder rub so I was excited for the massage to follow. Massage - again, not bad for a Groupon, but.....it was only 35 minutes! When it was over and Carman left the room, I realized it was way short! Then she tried to argue with me! Of course, I can tell time so I was right and she apologized but didn't offer me anything for the mistake. This dropped my 3 star review down to 2. The cheery on the cake was the 10 minute wait for her to figure out how to charge me the $2.75 tax on her iPad. If your desperate and have the Groupon, give it a try but keep an eye on the clock. read more

I booked a 60 minute massage with Carmen, with an hour's notice, late in the evening and Carmen was gracious enough to take me in. I had thrown out my back the day before and was looking for a little bit of love for my lower back to help bring the inflammation down. She listened to my concerns and spent an hour really trying to work out the strain while being gentle on the areas that were causing me a lot of pain. She made me feel so relaxed and I appreciated how much time she spent really focusing on my lower back. I felt incredibly relaxed when I left and I'm recovering faster because of her massage. The location is super accessible to all trains, the massage tables are so soft, warm, clean and comfy and their overall presentation is clean and comfy. I didn't think this place was too small at all, I actually thought it was bigger than most. Loved Carmen, such a warm and gentle soul. I will definitely be back to get a massage from here because she was amazing and lovely. read more

I last left a review for my aesthetician Carmen at Cherish Body almost a year ago. She's still the only person I go to for my waxing needs! This past week I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with massages for us since we were both really stressed out. I texted Carmen around 1pm on a weekday and requested two massages for that evening, if any way possible. She texted me back saying she was seeing which masseuse was available for the same day, and boom! -in about 2.5hrs we confirmed two massages for that same evening! Carmen is great with communicating, so booking appointments with her is easy. I really appreciated her working to find another available therapist (we needed at least one female therapist) for a 9pm massage the same day. I only gave the boyfriend hints that afternoon about a surprise, and didn't tell him about the massages until we parked in front of the building that evening :) I never had a massage before at Cherish Body, but I trust Carmen's other beauty services (and I had a facial with her that included facial, neck, head, shoulder, back massage which I enjoyed), and she's always booking massage appointments. I felt we were in good hands and we were!! Boyfriend is extremely picky with his massage experience, but loved and appreciated how hard Carmen worked on his tension and stress knots. His massage did not have music, and that was fine with him since he was very comfortable otherwise, and was able to really relax. Thank you Carmen for helping out his stressed out back and shoulders!! My therapist was Jorge, and after assessing my concerns we ended up doing a sports/ deep tissue combination massage for my really tight hips, and back. I had just trained heavy for lower body and core for the previous few days, and it was my first time getting a sports massage (I normally get Swedish/ deep tissue) so I def needed the extra stretches and muscular focus. Jorge was the right person for me in that regards since his massage background includes sports massage experience. My massage had music, and Jorge was very attentive with proper draping techniques and massage pressure. I found Cherish Body because it was in the vicinity of my friend's office. While you cannot see it from street level, it is definitely worth finding. I had such neck and upper back pain that needed relief and Eddie, my massage therapist, was up to the task. He focused on the areas I requested and applied the perfect amount of pressure. I definitely walked out of there a new person! I was so relaxed I left my watch and ring, which I picked up today as they held at the front desk. I highly recommend Cherish Body. The staff as a whole were completely warm and welcoming. Carmen, with whom I booked, was completely accommodating to my requests and same day booking. I will definitely be back. read more

I brought my brother to Cherish last week for his birthday and we were received and seen by Carmen. The appointment was set for 7:30 pm and we arrived exactly at that time. She greeted us and took my brother to the back while I waited at the front desk. Shortly after, I saw my brother coming back while she pointed at the lobby, indicating the way to the restrooms. I didn't really pay it no mind since I knew all masseuses ask about that "small detail" before starting the session. By the time he got undressed, laid on the table ready for his massage 10 mins must have already gone by. Exactly at 8:25pm, I saw my brother reappearing before my eyes, all dressed up and ready to go! I looked at my watch and said to a smiling Carmen, "well is this a 45 min massage because it clearly states that the Groupon I was going to buy from her that night covers 1hr!" She immediately stopped smiling and started arguing with me that the appointment is an hour with all of it included! (arriving time, restroom use, getting undressed AND dressed!) I replied that I didn't know that the massage would start even while still in the elevator since it was already 7:30pm in there and also at the front desk when we arrived! I then mentioned another review I had read on yelp.com talking about her shady ways of not giving the full hour to her clients. She then argued with me even more! How could I possibly be saying the same exact thing than that customer!? I've never even met her! Anyway, Carmen said that she had a feeling this would happen! And refused payment from us, clearly implying the color of my skin and referring to the fact that black people use tricks to get themselves out of paying for services or goods! I was outraged and asked her if she was the owner to make such racist comments? She said yes and quickly rectified to "manager" instead. She also added "don't ever come back"! I left there completely humiliated and upset. She made sure she locked the door behind us in a very loud manner at 8:40pm!! When the spa's business hours indicates open till 10pm! No one deserves to lose their jobs in such hard times but I truly do hope she gets some serious verbal warning from management on how to do her job better because she is making this business look bad and lose customers by the minute with reviews like this one! read more

I bought a Groupon for a sixty minute full body massage and a scalp massage. I've read some of the other reviews here and I want to say that I got my full seventy minutes. I didn't catch the Lady's name but I am assuming it was Carmen; and she was very nice and accommodating. I didn't get a great look at the facility because the lights are rather dim but it seems pretty and clean. I didn't need the restroom so I didn't get a look at those - the massage room was spacious and smelled nice and the music was nice. Carmen asked if I had specific areas I wanted her to work on and I said neck, back, upper glute, hands, feet - no legs. She did a pretty good job at following those instructions. Usually I like a stronger, deeper massage but Carmen's work is extremely soothing and she uses these nice smelling lotions, one of them really hot, which was a wonderful and new sensation for me. So, even though I was wishing it was a deep tissue massage, I can't complain because it was very tactile and soothing and I thought she was nice. When I left, I noticed three handsome, muscular men in the halls and the lobby and I thought "I wish he had done the massage - it would have probably been deep tissue, the way I'm used to it" but I can't fault Carmen's work, honestly. Some of the reviews below don't appear to be very complimentary but none of them reflect my experience at Cherish Body. And I'm not a shill. I buy a lot of Groupons and Living Socials for massage and other body work because I'm an athlete with a long history of injury and I need the body work. I'm always very honest about my experience with these places. PS. When I called for my appointment, Carmen got me in the very next day, unlike a lot of places who sell Groupons and then don't have any appointments for six weeks which, let's face it, is extremely unrealistic and always smells of scam read more

Easy to get to via subway and centrally located in midtown, this beautiful space is very welcoming. I booked a 90 minute massage with Carmen and I was not disappointed at all. Do not book an appointment at Cherish Body. This business is a joke. When I showed up for the appointment that I had scheduled the door was locked, so then when I called the designated number Carmen picked up and said someone would be there shortly. Not only did no one show up for an hour but then she ignored all my calls. She is unbelievably unprofessional and It would be a pure waste of money to go to Cherish Body. I never had an experience as frustrating as this one and I would advise all people to steer clear of this establishment. read more
