In this case it was excellent, however the mash on the side was even better and the onion was exceptional. So, in summary a quality establishment. Not the cheapest but still very good value for money and I'd be more than happy to return and spend my hard earned euros again. Kudos to the chef, kitchen staff, front of house and the owners. We were so happy when they agreed to let us have dinner with them- as long as we could vacate the table before the reserved customers arrived (1 1/4 hours). Not nearly enough time to sample more than a cocktail and main, but well worth it! The covktails were small but well crafted. The lamb I ordered and the linguini w/ aglio e olio were simply delicious! For dessert, theybrought out a tray of parfaits. I chose the cherry/amaretto and it was great. So happy we were able to enjoy such a wonderful meal on our anniversary.

The texture isn't unique to this restaurant, it just seems to be how meat is in Ireland. Burgers also have a strange texture. Irish meat tastes fine but seems drier. I also don't think you can get free refills which is just how everyone does things in not America.

Both of us were full, big portions as usual. Only downside was with ribs being new on the menu, they never included a wet wipe for your fingers and using just a paper napkin left paper pieces stuck to the sticky BBQ sauce. One thing that did stand out was after we got our food, the waitress never came over again to check how the meal was or did we need more drinks. I ended up having to leave the table and walking to the bar for another round. But then again, it was a full house and very busy, so that could explain it....

The seating is casual, there are large screens around showing sports and a bar counter up front. The menu is pretty limited, burger, lamb, chicken, fish & chips etc. The mains will set you back between 14 and 22 euro which makes me believe they're going for a certain crowd but the decor and atmosphere tells a different story. The food is very nice and the deserts are amazing and about worth the price. If TWO fully committed to being a restaurant (or even sectioned off an area for diners) it could be an amazing place.
