We bought my husband a suit for a formal wedding at Barry's. The price was ok. We were under the…read moreimpression that the alterations being done to the suit were going to be professionally done. The sleeves of the coat were too long, the pants were nearly 14 incges too big, the butt was HUGE, the legs were at least 20inches too long. Mind you my husband is not a small man at 6'1'' with a large barrel chest and very long arms but he has not butt and average size legs for a big guy. When we came 8 days later to have him try on his altered suit and pick it up, it was very clear the alterations were not correct. He tried on the suit and we attempted to show them all the issues and new ones. Including the now much tighter fitting coat in the chest. They got squirrely with their answers and we got told to take it to their Alterations person to be fixed, at our cost, since they had done the original alterations to the suit. I was not ok with what felt like a bait and switch. We took the suit to our local trusted Alterations person, who has been in business for 40+years. My husband tried on the suit for her and she shook her head. It was very clear that the suit we had purchase had fit him correctly across the chest now did not allow him to cross his arms and the sleeve still was too long. The suit coat had been some how altered and was entirely too tight now. She even opened up an internal arm seam and found the error in the shortening of the arm. It was VERY clear the arm had been shortened via the arm pit and was not even cut evenly. She also had to take in the waist of the pants, shorten them, and remove many many inches in the legs and butt of the suit pants as they looked as if my husband was carrying a tent behind them they were so large. She told us there was unfortunately nothing she could do to the suit coat since they had not left hardly even a ¹/ inch seam allowance, but to go back to Barry's and get a new coat. I came in to Barry's to see about swaping the coat for the correct unaltered size. I was told that my Alterations person didnt know what they were talking about! That the suit had fit my husband at pick up and there was no way they could have had the chest altered. They insisted on keeping the coat. They told me that my husband HAD to be there to try it on for them, even though we had tried to show them the error at pick up. They even told me I was wrong about my husband's complaint it was too tight at pick up, that he had said it was fine. They had too see if it was actually an issue on him for themselves. But that there wasn't a way it didnt fit him right. So now we only have the pants. Im having to try to get him to leave work early to come get re-fitted in the missed up coat. Oh and did I mention we have less than a week now befor the the wedding to have this fixed!

It has the feel of a classic neighborhood department store: bright, clean, easy to move through, and calm in a way that malls rarely are anymore. The wide aisles, clear layout, and convenient parking right outside make the whole experience simple and stress-free, which matters when you want the outing to feel enjoyable instead of exhausting. Mom loves being able to browse at her own pace without the noise and bustle of a mall. From everyday essentials to seasonal finds and home goods, there's enough variety to make the trip worthwhile without feeling overwhelming. And yes, we never leave without checking the clearance racks and debating whether the Kohl's Cash math counts as a victory. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and checkout is usually quick, which means more time spent chatting and less time waiting in line. Having a dependable, local department store like this makes taking Mom out feel easy and comfortable instead of complicated. Sometimes the best outings aren't flashy--they're the ones where you can stroll, laugh, and enjoy each other's company without the chaos.

Today is the second time I've had difficulty returning items. These are items that were not worn, I had my receipt in hand, everything matched item per item on the receipt. Apparently they wanted to credit me back with kohls cash when I purchased the items using my debit card. Then gave me a 800 number to call to figure out the issue. Again, try to avoid customer service.

Tanger Outlets Commerce - Where Reviewers Are Many, But Enforcement Is... Selective…read more As someone who reviews shopping centers often--on both Yelp and Google--I've come to expect a certain level of consistency, especially from a well-established outlet brand like Tanger. Usually, sharing photos and feedback is welcomed. Encouraged, even. At Tanger Locust Grove, I posted a review with photos and was personally thanked by the owner. But at Tanger Commerce, I discovered something quite different. While taking a few standard photos during my visit (like I've done at dozens of malls - some with almost 100k views), I was approached by a security guard, followed from across the complex from Nike to Marshall's, photographed, and informed that photography is prohibited unless I had a press or media pass. When I identified myself as a reviewer, hoping for some clarity or even conversation, I was met with suspicion and stone-faced enforcement. My boss makes me enforce this rule I was told - leaving me wondering who his boss is, as from the owners replies to other posts it clearly isn't them. Here's where it really gets confusing: a multitude of other reviewers--on both Yelp and Google--have uploaded photos of storefronts, interiors, signage, merchandise, and even selfies at this very location. Entire photo carousels exist, ranging from fashion displays to food court visits, without a whisper of consequence. One reviewer even uploaded 14 photos on Google and was publicly thanked by management for their "great review" and "wonderful experience." only a month ago. So I ask: if photos are truly not allowed here, why is enforcement only aimed at some of us? Why the inconsistency? And more importantly--where are the signs? None were visible. No policy posted. Just a sudden switch from shopping to being surveilled. Reviewers, take note: If you're documenting your experience, know that Commerce enforces its "rules" selectively. You may be ignored like the 50 reviewers before you--or you may get followed, photographed, and reminded you're not welcome to record your visit. P.S. - I'm not being paid for my reviews, nor do I have anything to gain from this. I just enjoy helping people find great places to spend their time and hard-earned money. But this place? This wasn't it and recommend it I do not.
