We went to each store recommended, and Girli Girl was the classiest of them all - from the dresses stocked to the shopgirls to the check-in and check-out - and the only one to which we will return. We did have a glitch, and I think a glitch is an opportunity for any business to show its true colors, and Girli Girl was wonderful! Because of our timeline and the distance of the store from our home, we were unable to use the onsite seamstress and instead used a nearby seamstress recommended by the store. When the outside seamstress damaged the dress, the store was incredibly helpful in allowing us to bring the dress back in so that they could assess the situation and advise us on next steps. With their input, my daughter and I were calmed, equipped, and able to locate a seamstress who did a wonderful emergency repair (Sandy's Alterations in Roswell). Overall, Girli Girl was incredibly classy from beginning to end, and it had a well curated selection, including gorgeous dresses we did not see elsewhere. As with other stores of this type, the dresses are arranged by size and by color. The shopgirl was not overbearing in any way but was consistently present to offer assistance and to provide advise when we requested it. She also did a *very* impressive job of centering my daughter and her desires while balancing my input, so that my daughter felt like finding the dress was her experience, while I felt all my opinions (and the budget!) were taken into account and honored, with my daughter and I ultimately loving the dress my daughter chose. Two small notes: One, Girli Girl is in an adorable little town with a beautiful main street, so next time we are dress shopping there, we will make a day of it with lunch, et cetera. The day we happened to go in, we were driving for hours from store to store to store, when really this store, which was our last stop, was the only one we needed! Two, you might find it helpful to check the designers (and the prices) before you go. We found that the *value* was better at Girli Girl than at the other boutiques we visited (featuring designers with much better materials and construction than at the other stores we visited, for the same price), but all of the stores of this type are pricey for a dress for a teenager compared to a mall store. That said, the dress my daughter chose is a dress that she wants to and will wear again to the resort wedding of a family member in the spring, whereas the majority of mall store dresses do not have the same quality and versatility.

Since we knew we were running a little behind, we called ahead and asked if they could wait just five more minutes, and we were led to believe that wouldn't be a problem. We made it there with only minutes to spare, but instead of being greeted or even spoken to, the employees looked directly at us, refused to open the door, and simply walked away. We waited outside, hoping someone would at least come explain the situation or apologize, but instead two employees walked out, got into their car, and drove away without saying a single word or acknowledging us. After making a five-hour trip, this was beyond disappointing. What hurt the most wasn't that they were closing--it was the complete lack of communication, professionalism, basic courtesy, and respect. A simple conversation or apology would have gone a long way. Instead, we were made to feel like we didn't matter at all. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. If this is how they treat customers before they even walk through the door, I can't imagine how they treat people inside. I would never recommend this business based on the way we were treated.

I took the dress I paid $170 to have altered to another seamstress for a second opinion, and I was…read moreshocked. She told me that almost none of the work I was promised had actually been done. On the day of my event, the dress was still so loose in the bust that I had to wear a bra underneath it because it did not fit properly. I was charged $25 for bra cups and another $20 just to have them stitched in, which the new seamstress said amounted to only a couple of simple stitches. I genuinely have no idea what the remaining money was for because there was virtually no alteration work done. I strongly recommend not using this store's alteration service. The seamstress was rude, rushed every appointment, unprofessional, and completely dismissive of my concerns. After paying $170, I expected my dress to fit correctly. Instead, I had to pay someone else to fix what should have been done the first time. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, and I feel I was charged for work that was never performed.
