I don't shop at Ace store that often but I came in today December 23 around 11:30 to use one of the app rewards. The cashier who was the younger female, wanted to see the lid of the bin. I was trying to purchase to make sure it wasn't sold separately. For some reason, the bin I was purchasing was the black bin with the yellow lid, I've never seen a lid that would be purchased separately from a Rubbermaid type storage bin. Then when she scanned my rewards barcode, she claimed that it was already used and said she can only give me a 10% discount when the reward I had was a $10 off $10 purchase. Just seems like the whole interaction she was intentionally giving me a hard time. I had to leave the item and use the app to order online for store pick up, which wasted my time going in initially and dealing with this employee. I wish I would've caught her name, she was the younger girl working this day and time. I will not frequent this location again due to the poor customer Service. read more

This is my neighborhood hardware store and it is surprisingly well stocked considering that it is a fraction the size of the Home Depot or Lowe's. I'm a homeowner and it is often too inconvenient to run to the big box store 20 mins away when you need something immediately for a project you're in the middle or an urgent matter. I've gotten sprinkler heads, cement, joint compound, primer, drill bits, mudding supplies, fencing screws, household screws, to cleaning supplies. They have it all. On top of it, the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. And the price isn't any different than HD or Lowe's, the bigger stores just carry more variety and brands read more

This is the second time I've had difficulty in this store with customer service. Both times I was treated as if I was a woman who knew nothing. This time I showed the clerk a picture of what I wanted and that what had been available online. Supposedly. The clerk tried to grab my phone without asking. When I said you cannot hold my phone he was noticeably disgruntled. This was close to closing, both myself and another man were in the aisle. The clerk yelled down the aisle from the front and said ma'am we're only open for 10 more minutes. I looked at the gentleman next to me and then I looked at the clerk and I said were you talking just to me? And he said yes. I said you weren't talking to me and the gentleman and he said no. At that point a manager came out and asked if they could help me and told me that I was being rude. I believe I will never go in the store again. I hope they learn to teach their employees not to try to grab people's items out of their hand, whether it be a phone or any other item. And also not to single out one person about the closing time. Huge line at cash register. This place is always so damn slow at the register. No one on a 2nd register. Web site says lawn mower I'm looking for is in stock. Go to the rear customer service. No one around. Find lawn mower in opened storage area. Grab a cart and put lawn mower on the cart. Get stopped. Polite store employee seems surprised I got it on my own, but I told her I could find no one to help me. She says she she needs to ensure not an online order for someone else. All good she says. Take it up front to pay. Cashier decides to lecture me about how I shouldn't go and get it on my own, tells me it could already have been ordered by someone else. I politely tell him I only did it cuz he had such a huge line and was trying to expedite it, help him out. Cheaper at Lowe's, but not in stock. I decide to return it. Attempt to bring it back into the store. Cart is gone. Go in store. Get more lecturing. Told pretty much to figure out how to carry the heavy lawnmower back into the store since the cashier has made it clear he's not gonna help me. I carry it in on my own without a cart or assistance. He continues to lecture me on using their cart, helping myself (cuz none of them weee helping anyone), etc Ask him to please refund. Oh no wait. Time for more lecturing. Holds on to receipt, continues to inform me of my crime before he begins the laboriously slow refund process. Finally I tell him to not lecture me. What I really want to say is "if you weren't so incompetent then I would not have had a need to do your job for you ". He keeps running his mouth rather than do his job and refund my purchase. I ask him his name. "Scott" he tells me. Says "make a phone call I don't give a fuck." Last time I'm shopping there. Terrible service. Slow, condescending. Rude. This store uses to be great, go there every weekend or other weekend to grab stuffs. Now it's getting shittier. Picked weedclear and once got home found it's only half and missing the hose. Believe in small neighborhood stores and I try to do business with them but after being treated rudely by the young lady manning the front cash register I seriously doubt that I will ever return to this store. Acted like she was doing me a favor ringing up my purchases, did not give me the receipt, and never said thank you upon my departure. She just increased her scowling at me. read more

i sure don't mind going here not one bit, i actually like the staff. not the manager(s) that decided to interview for a job though. they were doubled up why? i haven't ever heard of a job needing to managers to intimidate you while asking harsh questions acting like this was a corporate takeover. maybe its the fact the interviewee was female and they had to show her up with machismo. then what are you doing here this is a man's job interviewer. if you ask a "what if" question you don't press the person on it once answered or correct them to push store over customer satisfaction. i get it i am sure they are double-teaming the female candidates because they want men there. though i can't see why i've seen 90% of women there to help i like it, make it diverse, you know women are just as capable as men. i will still be going here but you have to do better with your dual team of interviewers, you don't need 2 and you don't need questions as if you are interviewing for a government job. if you are going to interview so harshley then you need proper bedside manners in doing so. good day, do better..... read more

I was shocked at the rudeness and lack of help that I experienced at this place this evening, August 7. When I arrived the two employees were standing in the doorway talking. When they saw me approach the store, they hurried back inside. However, they were still standing there talking and completely ignored me. I politely asked if they sold pepper spray, and one of them grudgingly showed me what they had. It was hanging on a peg near the register. I told them I wanted to purchase one, but that I wanted to buy something to unclog my drain as well. Neither employee offered to tell me where to find that item. My friend and I wandered around the store but could not find the item. The two employees continued talking to each other and ignored us. My friend called out to them to ask where we could find Drano or something similar. Neither of the employees came to show us where to find it. Rather, one of them yelled across the store to look in aisle 13. I finally found it and proceeded to the register to pay. I asked the young man to give me a canister of pepper spray, as there was a peg preventing me from removing one from the peg on the wall near the register. He rudely said that he already had one there for me. He rang up my purchases, handed me my receipt without a thank you or any other pleasantry and left my two items sitting on the counter, without making any move to bag them for me. I asked him to put them in a bag (Lakewood stores still give bags to customers without charging for them). He put my items in s paper bag and shoved the bag at me without comment. All I can say is that I must have irritated the employees by interrupting their private conversation. Sorry about that...and I won't bother you with my business again! read more

A small store that has a little bit of all your hardware needs. Its prices are more that you would pay at larger hardware store, but you do not have to fight any crowds either. This isn't a bad place if you need to make a quick stop to grap that one thing you forgot to pick up elsewhere. read more

Since this store is a lot smaller than Lowe's and Home Depot, they don't carry anything outside of the usual nuts and bolts hardware stuff. If you need something specific, they most likely won't have it, even though it says on their website that they carry it and it is in stock. Everything that I have ever wanted was told it had to be ordered. Oh vey. Might as well drive the couple of miles down to Lowe's and get it the same day. It's decent if you need something quick and small. Service is unpleasant. It seems like no one ever wanted to be there. It's understandable that no one wants to work, but come on, just crack a grin or smirk to let me know that you're capable of being human. Basically you're encountering a group of grumpy old people...
