I've asked for help from employees, either get blank stares or completely opposite information of what I need. I have even been mocked for not knowing technical terms by their staff in electrical. I keep coming back and I don't know why. If you're only picking up one item, and have 30 minutes to stand in lines waiting for other people to get their crap together, then McLennans hardware is for you. As for me, I will take the extra 10 minutes instead of standing in line and drive to Home Depot or Lowe's.

There was a big African American man standing there so I asked him how I could get some help. He just stared at me. I guess he thought I would just move on. I didn't. Finally he said " With what " in a sarcastic tone. I told him then walked back to the bulbs. He didn't respond to me at all. Luckily I received help from both a lady and a man who were awesome. I don't know who hired the security guard but he in no way should be communicating with the public. We definitely won't be going back to this store unless we don't have time to go to Lowe's or Home Depot. Wow

After standing in a long line to check out, my cashier changed from one woman to another mid ring. Weird but it happens. I noticed my two pickups rang at $2.99 each and asked her about it. She said "oh. Blue tags are for members only." I suppose errantly assuming because I wear a bra I'm not a member? (I am one.) Then she checked and said the pickups were on blue tag last month and pointed to a display near check stand. I said "Thats funny because I picked up two of these back on aisle 6 end-cap BECAUSE they were on blue tag." I told her I'd go take a photo and did and came back and showed her my phone screen. She reiterated the sale was last month. I reiterated that the price was on display in their store in washington state. She finally called the manager and price was adjusted but this left a bad impression on me. She never said "sorry for the confusion" or even "you were right." I hate retailers (and restaurants ) who display one price then charge a higher one. I'm also not keen on assumptions made about me because of my sex.

I was just finishing up the purchase of almost $8,000 for a SawStop table saw. As the store employees were bringing the saw out to my rental truck, the internal mobile base broke. They had another saw on the showroom floor with the part that broke in it, but they didn't want to pull from that saw to fix mine. They also were not willing to deliver it to me. They offered absolutely nothing to compensate for my $185 rental truck, or my time to take the day to come get the saw. They just wanted me to eat all my time and expense and wait for the replacement part to arrive and for them to install it. I had absolutely no fault in this. It broke while in the store's possession, yet they wanted me to bear all of the time and truck rental expenses a second time to pick up the saw a week or so later. I thought that was ridiculous and said that they can fix it with the part in the saw on their floor, they could deliver it to my house for free since I already paid for the truck once. Or, they could give me money back. Dennis Schmit chose to refund my money. My salesman later came up with an idea of a store credit as a third option. I was good with that, but again the store manager Dennis Schmit said "no". I will never shop at the Sumner Woodworker Store ever again. I truly hate to badmouth a small local business, but sometimes those businesses have just gone bad. In my opinion, this is one of those.

While I was in Eternal Soul I got a text notifying me of a situation that made me have to head home and forgo my trip to this store. I get in my car and start driving down the road and notice an elderly white man and his dog are blocking the road in front of me. I roll down my window and it's the owner of the store telling me he's about to tow my car. This bitter old man starts yelling at me, asking if I can read, spewing profanities, and wouldn't hear anything I had to say. I was flustered and couldn't get a word in to explain. He kept insisting that I go back into his lot because he has a tow truck on the way. Like he seriously thought I was just going to go put my car back in the lot to get towed . I apologized profusely and remained calm but he continued to spew profanities at me, screamed at me "wake up!" and got too close to my window. It ended with him screaming at me to "get the fuck outta here!" I don't know if he was extra hateful because I'm a young black woman and didn't think anyone like me could POSSIBLY be a customer of his store but be VERY careful shopping here. I was literally only parked in his lot for maybe 15 minutes. If you do decide to give this place your business, make sure you IMMEDIATELY enter the business after parking and leave IMMEDIATELY after you're done shopping...even if you have multiple stops, you have to move your car in between or risk getting towed. The owner is seriously unstable and aggressive. Beware!

We got a massive tree at a very reasonable price. Customer service was excellent and it had the same smell as the hardware store I used to go to for popcorn when I was a kid. The only down side, and it isn't much of one, is I wish they trimmed the tree when you bought it. When we got home we had to do a little snipping in our apartment to take care of stray branches.
