Lior and the Oakasa crew handled two simultaneous projects or us, the removal of our carpeted floors and installation of luxury vinyl planks and the full remodel of our master bathroom. In both projects, Lior and his foreman Allan were responsive and a constant presence throughout the work. We dealt with prior contractors where the main point person would disappear after we signed the contract, so it was refreshing to see Lior regularly and be able to ask him questions and provide suggestions. We also had a number of extra projects that came up, which his crew handled efficiently and effectively. For the most part, the work was very good, and tile work was exceptional -- especially the creation of the seamless shower and detail work on creating the sloped shower pan. We've just finished a complete interior remodel of our house with Lior and the team at Oakasa Construction and we cannot say enough amazing things about them. Let me take just a moment to tell you how much my family and I would recommend Lior Lazarovich's contracting company, Oakasa, Inc. Oakasa just completed a whole-home remodel of my built-in-1947 childhood home, which we will be moving into after my elderly father had to move into a continuing care facility. The home had one "remodel" in the early 1980s, in which some square footage was added, without significant upgrades or improvements to the remainder of the home. From the initial consultation through to the present day, Lior and his team at Oakasa have provided outstanding service, and have made a usually stressful and fraught experience into one that was truly enjoyable. The scope of the project included re-plumbing and re-wiring the entire home, installing recessed lighting in all the rooms, adding a bathroom within the existing floorplan, completely redesigning the kitchen and bathrooms, painting, and repairing and refinishing the beautiful oak flooring throughout the house. Along the way we also approved the replacement of the existing roof and the installation of a security gate across the driveway. Communication: A+ We currently live 400 miles away from the project's location in Southern CA. For this reason, it was of utmost importance that our chosen contractor communicate clearly and often about the project. From the initial in-person consultation, and every step along the way, Lior was available, responsive, and proactively communicating with me and my family. When construction was underway, in a group text thread, Lior gave a daily summary along with pictures and videos to show what was done that day. In a separate email to me, he communicated questions about ordering, payments, design preferences, and the like. We would frequently FaceTime during the day if he had questions that warranted immediate attention. Even on evenings and weekends, Lior would make himself available if that was the only time that I could devote to managing the project. Timeline and Budget: A+ The initial contract was detailed in its scope and sequence, and outlined the payment schedule. Lior designed a project that balanced our dream-home hopes with the realities of our budget. There ended up being two change orders to the original scope of work - both arose from issues that were discovered as our elderly home was stripped down to the studs. Both times, Lior explained what was found (corroded water pipe leading from the street up to the house, and a roof with rotted wood and many, many leaks), advised as to the recommended timeline for making those improvements, and did not pressure us into adding these two projects into the scope. Ultimately, we decided to move forward, and Oakasa installed a beautiful new roof and gutter/downspout system (repairing any wood rot along the way) and ensured that our new plumbing could work as intended thanks to the replacement of the main water line. These two additional projects did add to the overall cost of the project, but there was never any pressure put on us to use Oakasa for the work - it just made sense to do so. And the project was still finished TWO WEEKS EARLY!! Quality of Work: A+ I had nightmares about my home being invaded by construction workers who couldn't care less about anything but their paycheck, with the quality of the work taking the back seat. This could not be further from the truth. Before signing the contract, I understood that a consistent group of workers would be assigned to the project. Lior introduced me to Pedro, the project foreman, who led the main group of three workers (Robert [Pedro's son], Hector, and Juan) in completing the project. There was no trash. No cigarette butts. No soda bottles hidden in the studs behind the drywall. These men were professional, conscientious, and skilled. They took personal pride in their work. And it shows - just look at the photos! After the initial plumbing and wiring work, Lior brought in other specialty teams - the cabinet guys, the painters, the floor guys, the tile guys, etc. - who provided equally excellent quality work. We have been looking to remodel our old kitchen for a while; however, it seems like looking for a good contractor is much harder than buying a house. From Broken and Archaic Kitchen to Functional and Contemporary My kitchen remodel journey started approximately three years ago. During this time I met with approximately, five different contractors, but was not comfortable moving forward with any of them. My goal was to remodel the late 1950's brown kitchen. To use the range, I would have to turn on the gas and light the pilot each time. The oven was very small, and the door was held closed with a screw. The brown range, oven, and kitchen tile was very dated, and not at all attractive. To complete the picture, the kitchen also had formica countertops and linoleum flooring. In April 2023, my friends and I went to the Pasadena Home Show where we met and made appointments with two contractors - ProStar and Oakasa. After meeting with ProStar and Oakasa, I made the decision to contract with Oakasa. The main reason for contracting with Oakasa was Oakasa's owner, Lior. Lior is very friendly and personable, and assured me the process would be as pain free as possible. Also, the price quoted included items that were outside of other price quotes - cabinets, counters, and two sliding glass doors and four windows. Construction started in early August 2023, with an expected completion time of 8 weeks. The demo of my very dated, barely functioning kitchen happened in the blink of an eye. Rough plumbing and electrical was completed in week 1, and the project passed its first inspection at the start of week 2. New windows and sliding glass doors were installed; recessed lighting installed; drywall replaced, repaired, and patched; paint; cabinets installed; flooring installed; tile installed; appliances installed; and lastly, final inspection. Throughout the process, Lior was very responsive and communicative via text messages and pictures. Lior responded to all of my text messages regarding things that weren't just right and made them right. Juan (the electrician) and Darvin (the painters) were both very nice and did excellent work. I appreciate when someone pays attention to the "little" details like making sure the screws on electrical faceplates all face the same direction and using a level to ensure the washer and dryer are level. I'll start off by saying we had a smooth and easy experience with Oakasa Inc. on our first ever remodel. More specifically, Lior and his various team members, from demolition to plumbing, electrical, tile, and finishing touches, were respectful, professional, fast and efficient, and no trouble to have in the house at all. Lior and the craftsmen who worked with him really listened to what we were going for at the various stages and were all around good at communication. They did their best to give us what we wanted. Lior checked in with us every step of the way, and was fun in the process. I got five estimates, and Oakasa's was right in the middle. The project took one month, and I don't see how it could have gone any quicker. There were no delays, and our bathroom turned out just as beautiful as we hoped.
