I'd give this business and its owners 10 stars if I could. In late June 2016 I went in to have an…read moreofficial photograph taken a week before the cutoff date for an Army promotion board and just three days before I had to leave for a family vacation to the east coast. I had checked my uniform the week prior and it was good, but when I arrived at the photo lab my coat and pants were so wrinkled I didn't bother taking the photo. With time of the essence I needed a cleaner who would be competent and quick. Every cleaner near Fort Sam Houston had poor reviews, and I get my hair cut a few door down from Arcadia Grove Cleaners, so I said a prayer and took the uniform in. The woman who greeted me appeared to be the owner's daughter. She was polite initially, but after talking with her a bit she warmed up more and was genuinely nice. The gentleman I presume is the owner and her dad came off a touch gruff initially but was also very nice once we talked for a moment. (I later thought about this, and it occurred to me that in this area of San Antonio a business sees all kinds of customers: many are relatively wealthy and think they are special; some are poor and trying to rip businesses off to "get by;" and some people are just plain rude or unreasonably demanding. One of the most important lessons I've learned as a white-collar professional is the importance and value of protecting my time, which includes refusing unreasonable demands or those that completely break down systems I have in place to operate efficiently. I'm not saying those who have negative reviews of this business are unreasonable; I'm saying I can understand if business owners are initially a bit careful in their interactions with new customers to avoid being taken advantage of.) Bottom line: they turned the uniform around in a day for me so I could get my official photo taken before the family vacation, and it was flawless. I don't use dry cleaners very often, but when I need dry cleaning services I won't go anywhere else. Highly recommended! Post script: I was recently selected for promotion and promoted to lieutenant colonel. Because of the absurd importance the Army places on official photographs a career's worth of hard work could have been wasted because of a wrinkled uniform. Arcadia Grove Cleaners literally saved my career. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism!

The owner sold his business however the service was not the same mind you I lived 5 blocks from Save Cleaners on Quintana Rd so I decided to give them a try which worked out great for a while however the quality started to deteriorate & decided to take my business to Five Star Cleaners on Culebra Rd. with Jeannie as suggested by one of my sons on Culebra with Jeannie my sons. I've been going there for about 4 years now. I retired & moved to Devine. TX August of 2002 & tried the local cleaners to no avail. Needless to say I decided the only solution was taking my clothes back to Five Star Cleaners about 41 miles away, appearance is paramount in my previous employment & even now that I'm retired I still strongly believe appearance is something that cannot be compromised so I gladly continue to drive to their location because of the service. My sincere thanks to Jeannie & her entire team for their quality & very pleasant demeanor. I do not feel bad traveling that far to get the quality of service they continuously provide. Again my sincere thanks for all your efforts & I strongly recommend them. Catarino De Luna

Dropped off on a Thursday. Was ready on Friday. Went to pick up and when they scanned my ticket, the computer froze. After a while, I decided to come back for them the next day. I showed up the next day and when they scannned the ticket, it looked like it was still frozen on the same computer. They asked me if I had cash and I did not after about 20 minutes, I asked if there's anything else that could be done because I didn't want to have to leave and come back again. They eventually scanned my ticket a different way. I don't understand why they didn't do so in the first place so I didn't have to go out of my way the next day The staff members were very apologetic and very friendly. My pants came out just as I expected. Parking is available on site and some are designated for the business, but the majority is shared with the other businesses.

I'm not sure why, but the lady who assisted me at the counter was asking for so much of my personal information (name, address, phone number...). I guess it makes sense if someone is dropping off several garments for repair or cleaning...but I just needed one button to be sewn onto a dress, a task that would take less than a minute for even the most beginner tailor... After about 20 minutes of giving all this unnecessary info, the computer shutting down, and sharing all this info again, I was told I would have to wait a week before I could get my dress back. What??? I emphasized again that my ask was as small as could be---should a button repair really take a week? All it took was for the counter-lady to take it to the back and have the tailor fix it up then-and-there. Cost me about $1.50. That's all I wanted and needed, and that's what I got...even if I had to waste 20 minutes in the beginning.
