From there, you have a choice of three gated areas to enter after. There are two areas for dogs over 30 lbs and one for smaller dogs. Each area has a bench or two for humans and a large area for dogs to run. There are bags and receptacles for cleaning up after your pooch, please use them! There is a fire hydrant in each gated section for fun. I would not drive a long distance to go to this park since it is really only a gated yard. It's new, so maybe there are plans for adding some type of agility obstacles or something, that would make it five stars since the only one like that is in Dayton... but it is nice to have close by. Could it use some updates, sure, but I'm sure Kettering is getting there. The front of the park is a skate park and the back has a playground, path, disc golf course, picnic shelters, and a pond. The park also leads you to the Kettering Rec Center. I love that the park is rubber mulch. I also like the really cool and unique play structure. I do not remember the pond being so big so I feel like that has had an upgrade in the last few years. It looked nice. I'm not sure if you fish there or not. I do think they need to figure out how to get bathrooms back near where the shelters and playground are because if not you are walking up to the way front. The paths are in nice condition and connect to the neighborhoods for longer walks or runs.

From 3 shelters you can rent, to a playground, an awesome lake with a pier and pavilion at the end of it (you can rent the pavilion I believe) to soccer, baseball, softball, sand volleyball and a BMX bike track they really fit a lot into a tight urban park. And parking for the most part isn't an issue. This is the park where Kettering has their 4th or July fireworks and it's packed (like 15,000) with people. They have lots of other fun festivals kids fishing derbies and it's home to Metro futbol club and their home fields and practices. The reason for not a 5 star is there is only one bathroom facility in the whole park. But other than that I love the trail around the park and all the sparks fields are in great shape. They really do a great job maintaining everything. Ooo, check this out if you love Pokémon Go! This place is the spot. Large, with many things to do. A shelter right next to it for the parents, and some benches around too. She didn't want to leave. We went up the hill thinking there was another exit, but no, another park area- with another playground! Smaller, and busier, but still fun. Parking right next to it, plenty of shade. Loads of ball fields, plenty of open space, a splash pad, shelters, bathrooms, lots of parking. A veterans memorial at the base of the hill. Room for anything you want to do, and lots of facilities. It's nice that this connects to Bill Yeck for additional trail fun. Forest Field has a paved path, a gravel path, and some grass trails. They also have indoor bathrooms and water refill during the warmer months. During the winter they bring a port-a-potty in. Very nice place to enjoy some outside time.
