Oak Burger and hand cut fries are DELICIOUS! Fish is just OK, kids may like it? Ranch dressing & tartar sauce is very good. They just opened today 3/01/2022 and are accepting suggestions for what menu items we'd like to see so don't hesitate to mention something. Veggie option would be lovely! Maybe a veggie patty or Beyond/Impossible (plant based) burger would be FANTASTIC!!!

Food was decent, some lady charged us for an extra meal that we didn't order. I didn't eat inside, gives small town vibes.

Tucked away in Elma, Smitty's has that classic small-town, roadside burger-joint appeal that makes stopping there feel like part of the experience rather than simply grabbing another fast-food meal. The simple drive-in setup, casual atmosphere, and straightforward menu give the place a genuine nostalgic charm. The prices are another big reason to like Smitty's. You can get a satisfying burger-and-fries meal without feeling like you are paying premium modern day inflation price. The same burger fry and shake would be 50%-100% more in cost in Tacoma or Seattle. The portions are generous, and the food delivers the kind of comfort-food experience you want from a local drive-in. The burgers are definitely the highlight. They are flavorful, have that grilled taste, and have that classic burger-joint taste that you just don't get from the big national chains. Whether you go with a basic burger or something more loaded, the quality and flavor make it clear that Smitty's knows what it is doing. The menu also has plenty of classic sides and other options if you want to mix things up. The wait time was perfectly reasonable for a small, popular drive-in. Smitty's prepares food to order, so you may have to wait a little longer than you would at a typical fast-food chain, but that is a tradeoff I am happy to make for hot, fresh food. It never felt like an unreasonable wait, and the friendly staff made the experience even better. The service was good. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which adds to the small-town character of the restaurant. There is something refreshing about getting good food from people who actually seem happy to have you there. Overall, Smitty's is a great example of what a local drive-in should be: old-school atmosphere, reasonable prices, tasty burgers, fresh comfort food, friendly service, and a relaxed small-town feel. It may not be the fastest stop in town, but the combination of quality, value, and nostalgia makes it well worth the visit. If you are passing through Elma, Smitty's is absolutely worth stopping for.

On our map showed up Out and About with amazing reveiws. What we did not realize was that it is in a U-Haul parking lot. This makes it a little bit of a tight squeeze if there is a long line but the staff here work fast to get your food out quickly to you. In total, it took less than 10 minutes from when we turned in and ordered to when we were leaving with our food. The burgers here are delicious - as many have compared, I would say they are akin to an In and Out burger, which is one of my favorite burgers. If I went back, I would bypass the fries. I like mine crispy and these were a bit limp. That's okay though because, again, the burger is amazing. Definitely worth a stop in. And in my opinion, the perfect stop if you're hungry and heading back to Seattle from a hike at Mt. Rainier.

First off, I'd just like to say that the location is kind of a nightmare. The drive-thru setup is…read morepretty confusing. It's a really tiny little trailer, so I understand they're working with limited space, but having cars loop around in what feels like a figure-eight can be chaotic. People get impatient, start honking, and it's easy to accidentally cut someone off without realizing it. They're just burgers, people--everyone needs to relax a little! That said, despite how busy it was, the line moved surprisingly fast. I ordered a double cheeseburger with everything, a side of onion rings, and a black raspberry shake. The shake was fantastic--definitely a highlight of the meal. The burger was also really good: flavorful, fresh, and exactly what I was hoping for. The only disappointment was the onion rings. They were incredibly greasy--so much so that they actually upset my stomach. I'm not sure if that's typical, but I probably wouldn't order them again. Next time I'd give the fries a try instead. One thing that really stood out was the pricing. It's refreshing to find a place that still offers fair prices when it feels like everything else costs an arm and a leg these days. Overall, I'd definitely come back. The burger and shake were worth it, and as long as I skip the onion rings, I think it'll be a solid meal.
