This is a tiny restaurant, but had a table for five with no trouble. Service was a little slow at first, but the restaurant was full. We ordered three fish and chips and one Guinness Irish beef stew (you do get to choose between beef and lamb stew. They serve both !) that came with a pint of Guinness. (one serving of the fish and chips seemed to be lacking half of the fish and was only breading, but we did not complain.) Fish and chips were delicious and the Guinness stew was unbelievably good!! I'm not a Brown bread fan, but it was better than some I've had. I don't really care for Guinness beer but this one was smooth and good tasting surprisingly! Tab for the four meals as two people shared with the pint of Guinness and three tap waters was just under $70. Quite a good deal for being right in the temple bar area!!! read more

Be prepared to get scammed if you are a tourist looking for a place to eat. This place advertises a 15 euro special of an Irish Stew and a Pint- and I ended up paying over 30 for the same special. I paid 40 euros for 2 beers, an order of bread and 1 Irish stew. We specifically asked for the special they advertise outside- and when my brother brought this to the attention to the waitress she denied the interaction and did not offer any solutions. Nice little spot on a side street in the Temple Bar area. I will say that my fiance and I were seated quickly and served immediately, the food came out quickly as well, the menu is well priced for the area. I ordered an omelette, which I thought was a safe and healthy choice but it was heavily buttered / fried. It tasted fine but wasn't what I was expecting. Place was clean and bright. For lunch we had had a beef stew made with Guinness and the traditional lamb stew, both served with brown bread. Had a couple of well poured pints of Guinness with lunch. Beef stew was piping hot, lamb stew was barely warm, although both were delicious with a slight tangy/vinegary finish I've not had in stews before. I'm not sure what the low reviews are for. We wandered in here because we were starving, the place was very busy, and it was warm n toasty on the inside. Small little place with maybe 10 tables on the inside, and a few on the patio. The staff is helpful, and very nice. If your American the location, and the set up will remind you of one of the many cafes & restaurants in San Francisco City. Small, tight, and cozy. I'll be honest with you. I fully enjoyed my Irish Stew. They ran out of lamb but asked if they could substitute with beef, and it was delicious! Big fatty chunks of beef, large chunks of onion, carrots, and potato. They give a large brown loaf for dunking in the stew. Large portion, normal price for food. It was so sweet, and thick, so filling! You could taste all the herbs, and spices. I was 100% satisfied, and HAPPY! My companion had the chief special: lamb chops, salad, and his choice of a baked potato or steak fries. He cleared his plate as he always does. But he enjoyed his meal as well. The mint sauce was strong so just a quick dip is all you needed with the lamb. He mentioned the lamb was a little dry but it was very good. Pretty average food with a clear football/soccer theme, you can do better than O'sheas Restaurant. Delirious from our red eye flight and walking around Dublin all my morning, my girlfriend and I found our way into O'sheas Restaurant. A small hole-in-the-wall with a few seats out doors and football/soccer memorabilia on the walls, we walked in on a whim (and ignorant of the negative yelp reviews). After being a little confused if you just sit down or wait to be seated (this seems to be an American-only problem) we made our way to our table and looked over the menu. They have about everything you can imagine an Irish restaurant would have, and it being breakfast I ordered the Smoked Salmon and eggs. The eggs were a little overcooked and the salmon a bit bland, served along with dry bread that is inedible without butter or something else on it. It filled me up but was by far not the best meal I had in Ireland. Overall, with all the restaurants in the Temple Bar area, you can safely skip O'sheas. read more

We bought grupon for steak dinner, came in with 3 people while table appeared to be reserved for 2. Quick action from the man and we sat at the table outside which was great for one of us being smoker... The guy was very attentive making sure we're happy. We had a guest with us whom we wanted to treat with nice traditional Irish dinner. The food was great! Beautiful piece of meat! I can't say anything bad about the place. Made a reservation for 2:30 for st Patrick's day bc I knew it would be insane. Made the reservation WEEKS ago. Showed up 15 min before my reservation and was rudely told "were full. Go away. this is st Patrick's day. We don't do reservations." I said wait but I made this reservation weeks ago, why didn't you all contact me at all before today to tell me you wouldn't honoring reservations today and he said "were full, we don't do reservations on st Patrick's day" and slammed the door in my face. This was a place we chose for our Christmas dinner because it was the only place open in the Temple Bar area. We were not expecting much but this turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Dublin. The service was good, quick and attentive without being intrusive. The food was good. We had soup to start which was very flavorful. The main course was split between steak (cooked to perfection), Irish stew and king prawns. Good portions, good taste. After reading some negative reviews, my wife, sister in law and I went in with low expectations. The Guiness stew was delicious, served with a hunk of brown bread. My wife had the vegetable medley with rice which she enjoyed. Our server was adorable, efficient, and helpful. Dessert was a crepe served with ice cream and chocolate syrup. We had dinner here on our last night in Dublin. I will be honest, this was like our fourth or fifth place that we stopped out to get food. We were amazed at how busy it was on a Sunday evening at 9 PM. However, we are really glad that things turned out the way they did. This place is tiny, but the service and food was fantastic. Our waiter was Mahmoud, and he really went out of his way to provide us with great food and service. In fact, my friend that was with me is a vegetarian, which is not really an easy thing in a country like Ireland. But we explained that she will eat fish, but would not eat any other types of meat, and he even brought her a special smoked salmon dish from the kitchen. All in all, it was a great meal, and I definitely encourage you to visit. Do not be turned off by the simple appearance on the outside or the tiny feel inside.
