Withnell has been my Hyundai service department for years, and a recent experience reminded me why…read more I brought my Ioniq PHEV to Withnell after an unsafe repair at a dodgy Portland-area Hyundai dealership left me with more questions than answers. Withnell's Shop Foreman, Perry, took the time to actually inspect the work, found a hold-down bracket and terminal cover that hadn't been properly secured near the high-voltage area, and fixed it correctly. No hand-waving, no defensiveness, no condescension: he showed me the problem and clearly explained the solution. The entire Withnell team has been consistently incredible over the years, which I'm sure is due in no small part to Service Manager Duncan Berry, who is exactly the kind of person that you would want overseeing the department. Duncan is unfailingly kind, thoughtful and will always make sure that you have the most accurate information. I know that his job must be difficult sometimes, but the integrity and warmth that this man brings to every interaction is second to none. It's also worth mentioning that several of the service center staff have been with Withnell for nearly 20 years, which says a lot in an area with an exceptionally high-demand for qualified mechanics. On the front desk, Kristopher and Bradley have been fantastic advisors: always responsive, knowledgeable and straightforward. In the garage with Perry, I've been fortunate enough to meet Kyle, Colby, Ray, Andrew and Eric -- I always appreciate their work and fun banter. In the parts department, I'm not sure that there's anything that Rob, Tyler and Jake don't already have in stock. I've never had to wait or reschedule, which is pretty wild given some of the Ioniq part backorders over the years. You'll be in good hands with Withnell-- they are always worth the drive (or tow) from Portland. Promise.

I was able to drive it to my sister's house but knew it needed significant body repair. The next day, upon my sister's 100% recommendation, we took my car to Traditional Auto Body & Paint in West Salem. We arrived before the shop was open but Susan came to us and said, "Come inside where it is warm, to wait for the technicians." This much-needed kindness set the tone for five weeks of incredible care and patience. Jonathan Mayorga, Robert Anderson, and all the technicians paid attention to my unique/personal situation in dealing with insurance, my health issues and even getting back home. The professional expertise given to repair my car motivates me to post a FIVE STAR review AND 100% recommendation for TRADITIONAL AUTO BODY & PAINT. The initial examination of my vehicle was thorough, and details were well explained to me. I was updated frequently via phone calls and email regarding estimates and insurance coverage. The full repair of my car was completed in a timely manner, done to my 100% satisfaction, and was cleaned, inside and out, better than it has ever been. I was pleased to be given a detailed report of all the repair that was done, so that I will be able to share this with my repair shop in Bellevue, WA. I certainly do not wish the necessity of auto repair for anyone but, if the occasion does occur, I would highly recommend TRADITIONAL AUTO BODY & PAINT, Salem, Oregon. My sincere thanks to all professionals there! Roberta Mock

They worked with me to triage the work that needed done to keep it from ballooning out of hand. When they actually got in to do the work, they found out the faulty alternator was the result of a shoddy job done by the previous owner and was going to require them to drop the engine to remove and place new mounting bolts. I panicked. My estimated repair cost had almost tripled. I scrambled to get the money together because I needed my car and approved the repair. Their mechanic decided to take an extra hour and see if there was any way they could get it done without dropping the engine, and miraculously, he was! It cost an extra hour of labor, but I was relieved beyond measure. Throughout this entire rollercoaster ride, Valley Specialists kept me informed, made me feel my business was important to them, did a fantastic job (ahead of schedule!,)and- I can't stress this enough- was honest through and through. I had already approved the additional $2k of work and would never have known it they'd just charged it anyway. Neither I nor my family will take our cars anywhere else any more.
