I have never encountered such unhelpful staff at an auto shop. The man working had no idea how to help me replace the battery in my key fob. Rather than ask anyone else or make any effort, he just responded with good luck. Luckily, I found an autozone across the street and they provided excellent service and replaced my battery for me with no problem. I highly DON'T recommend O Reily's and recommend you try autozone first. read more

Call the store today to get a battery for my car. They told me they carry the battery but they won't put it in? I've never had such a ridiculous answer. They will sell you the battery but we won't install it. Just a heads up I wouldn't go there if you need a car battery and someone to actually put it in. It might not seem like a huge deal to everyone but I was kind of dreading walking into a car parts store. I needed new windshield wipers for a while so today I went in to get them. I will do my best to spread the word and tell people to NEVER do business with O'Reilly Poway. I'm pretty sure I was victim of Xenophobia in that place. As I entry the place this guy (white, blond almost redhead, curly medium haircut) I heard a welcome at distance for he was carrying a box in the back of the store. As soon as he saw my ethnicity (Asian), he changed his friendly tone; rudely interrupting in the middle of my question. Showing no interest in helping at all, he wrote in a piece of paper where I would find that in the back of the store. I doubt that this is the way clients should be treated! Outrageous! I had a specific milk gone bad smell in my car after a weekend and it was pretty bad as it would not go away even after a few days. So finally after my complaints and sitting in my car, Mr. W convinced me to get a air filter as he watched a video and saw it was not very hard to change it. We went in store looking for the air filter for my 2015 toyota corolla. This location did not have it in stock but their other location in Escondido had it. Spencer was the one who helped us out and suggested that we leave them with a phone number and they will have the product after 4pm and they will give us a call. Was glad we did mot have to drive all the way up. That was what we did and we got a call around 4-5 in which we dropped by afterwards. My car was still running but I was told by the guy at the Oil Change Shop that my battery was shot and I need it right away. He wanted to charge me $250 for a 600 amp battery but me being the way I am, I wanted to shop around. I went to O'Reilly's down the street. I told Jaden what I needed and he said he will test my battery to confirm. He was very nice , polite and efficient. Of course I was a little stressed because who likes repairs and extra costs! I was able to get a 600 amp battery for $150 and with a $15. Rebate . His nice personality made me more calm and grateful. He is a great asset to O'Reilly and I would go there now for other auto needs. read more

OK, I'm the first to admit I'm not mechanically inclined when it comes to cars... My wife's Prius had the low beam headlight burn out on the passenger side, so my first stop was YouTube, saw a couple and thought I know which part to get. Nope! The bulb assembly I bought from O'Reilly didn't fit (they gave me exactly what I asked for) so I brought it back and a very nice young lady named Heaven helped me out, refunded me on the bulb that wasn't correct even though the packaging was torn open etc... She seemed a bit confused and tried to clarify that it was probably the high beam light not the low beam light, but I didn't listen. Well she was right, I had to go back one last time to get the proper bulb once again and now things are good. Everyone was very nice and patient at this store, I'll go back there for any auto parts needs any time. read more

We had to make a few trips here over the past week. One for a new battery for my wife's car and then another couple times for my truck. Associate was kind enough to install her new battery for her right there to make it easy for her. As for my truck, it had recently developed an intolerable squealing which I narrowed down to the serpentine belt or pulleys. I dropped by O'Reilly to see what they thought since my hearing isn't all that great and I had expected to replace my idler pulley. Keri took a listen and determined that it was actually my tensioner as well as my belt that were the culprit and not my idler. Bought new parts which together ran me about $70 and got them installed when I got home and now my truck doesn't sound like the incessant noise of nails on a chalkboard. read more

Don't know what happened to this O'Reilly's it used to be a great place to shop. Now, the kids that work the counter are rude and don't have the first concept of customer service as I saw again this weekend. I didn't hear the conversation completely, but one customer left very pissed at the attitude of the employee. Fortunately, I was being help by the old timer. He was the only person working the front counter when I got there and he had to call 3 or 4 times for help. Customers where lining up to talk to my guy behind me. Finally, a couple of guys out from the back. The one employee that was helping the pissed off customer look bothered that he had to come up to help customers. He even "threw' he's pen down while he was talking to that customer. It didn't look like a pleasant exchange. I am not a big fan of Yelp and hardly ever post but seeing how rude the employee appeared to be, I had to say something. This O'Reilly's has been going done hill for a while now. Maybe management will see this and train these guys in customer service or just hire better people. I would have giving them just one or two stars but my guy is good. He's all ways good and I look for him when I go in. Hopefully, he doesn't go anytime soon, otherwise I will be headed across the street to Autozone. read more

The guy who runs this store is the spitting image of Wilford Brimley, and every bit as cool. Probably cooler now that I think about it. He's been the alpha-dog here since I could pronounce the word 'Wilford'. Come to think of it he sounds just like Wilford Brimley too. Anyway I ended up here because I was the unwitting victim of what amounted to the most unsuccessful auto theft attempt in burglar history. I have a feeling this was a 2 man team for some reason, like a Beavis and Butthead duo but on meth. Instead of breaking the window like respectable thieves they decided to jar the driver door lock-cylinder loose with what appeared to be a multi-use camping tool, leaving it mangled like some strange Salvador Dali art project. All they got in return was a gym bag full of molded sweaty tees and charcoal starter. I'm surprised they didn't leave a note sayin' 'Fuck, man, you win.' Wilford hooked me up right away with a replacement. As a point of advice that will save you time, make sure you know the make, model, year, engine, and so forth of your car ahead of time as Wilford will grill you hard. If you can pass the test, you will be handsomely rewarded. I'll go to this store from now on. read more
