I stopped by this location on Monument Boulevard after picking up my 1969 Camaro from having some repairs done. I realize that the battery appeared to be dead. I went into the shop and was immediately greeted by Brandon. He was very friendly and very helpful in determining the proper battery for the car. Natalie did he determine the proper battery for the car but he also went out to the vehicle with me and remove the old battery. In addition, he put the brand new battery in for me and make sure everything was running great before leaving the store. That was a very high level of service and unexpected. I understand, I must have not been speaking clearly, or could not voice my train of thought .. therefore I got a "you're looking for a wadda wadda?" I understand, it's oreilly auto parts, you shouldn't expect the best employees - however, the young man could have at least assure me that he could not understand what I was saying.. Preferably a "I'm sorry could you repeat that? I don't think I'm understanding your question." Although I don't frequent this O'Reilly as often as I do their competitor, I have to say that the employees go above and beyond here. The store is always clean and the customer service is top notch. The staff is always willing to help me and they can usually answer all of my questions with ease. I love that they're open until 10 pm which is a lot later than many of the other auto parts stores in the area. They have an excellent rewards program that allows you to earn points and discounts on your purchases. I needed to replace my windshield wipers and my regular auto parts store was closed. I stopped by O'Reilly and one of the associates guided me straight to where I needed to go and even gave me suggestions on my options. I hate reading through that big ass book of car models, so the fact that the associate already knew where everything was saved me time and a headache. I chose a brand recommended by the associate that assisted me. I wish I knew his name because he was very helpful. He even went out of his way to help me install the windshield wipers! I'm not handy at all when it comes to anything that has to do with cars, so I was very grateful. Unfortunately, one of the wipers ended up being defective and I had to come back in to replace it. The replacement process was pretty painless, and they made sure to test the new wiper for me to ensure that everything worked properly. Talk about stand up service! I will never shop here again. Hector put a part on hold for me. I came in and showed him my iPhone with the Napa Auto Parts app pulled up. The part at Napa was $33.99. The part at O'Reilly was $59.99. I was told by a manager at another store who did not have the part that if I found the part at a different parts store that O'Reilly price matches. When I went to pick up the part in Concord, Hector not only said that O'Reilly does not price match against Napa Auto Parts but that he would only go as low at $50 and no lower. I had to step away and get the manager from the other store on the phone. I never knew there was a manger at his store I could speak to. I even asked for one. I had to wait in line again to tell him that he was incorrect and that I can call the manager at the other store so he can speak to him. Only then did he walk to the back of the store to get his manager who not only price matched but apologized. It is not NOT ok that employees are not properly trained on O'Reilly's policies. I will be submitting a complaint with corporate. Sounds like Hector is picking and choosing how he wants this store to be run and this is also NOT ok. A lousy store filled with morons, starting from the store manager down to the parts guy. I dropped off around 2m 2 front brake rotors for resurfacing. At the counter I was told I can pick up in the evening or next day in am. The "store associate " asked me to write down a year, make and model for the vehicle. Which I did. After that he said:-"Ok see you later". I was like, -"uhm, don't you want to write down at least the phone number of your client?" Oh yes he did. The next day about her same time as I dropped off the rotors, I decided to call them , since they didn't call me. On the phone (Miguel) I was told that nobody touched the rotors.. What???? After 3 minutes he told me that after resurfacing, the rotors will be below minimum of required thickness. Uhm, how can you judge how thin they will be if you just look at them???. These rotors have 20 miles on. 20 miles!. They are just rusty because my RV was sitting outside. I asked the manager.."Neff"? Got the manager on the phone. Now the manager is telling me that they can't resurface because they are over heated. Uhm...they are rusty, you can't even see any discoloration, 20 miles old! I called the store to see if they could help diagnose what is going on and they said they were happy to help I arrived later that day and Ricky was so kind to give a thorough inspection of my car, so I could have an idea of what was wrong. Asked us to hold... then picked phone up 5 mins later asked us to hold again without even waiting for our response. At first he said they didn't have part.. but then checked with his manager who said they did have it in stock. He "pulled" it and put it under my name. We drove from Brentwood and when we got there nobody pulled anything.. come to find out.. they didn't even have it. Poor attitude from employees not even attempting to rectify situation. worst service EVER in concord ! I bought a battery twice at this place, last time for my scion and was in a rush so did not change it on site. Came back with the old battery a couple of weeks later and they did not want to dispose the battery even though I paid for it. unfortunately i did not have the receipt on me. in their electronic record they say the battery was already disposed. I said it is not true - and the staff accused me basically of lying and was not nice at all, instead of thinking a second they could have made a mistake. zero customer empathy and quite rude, especially a short guy at the counter who serviced me. they lost a customer today for sure. AVOID THIS PLACE ! They should have dispose the battery - they refused for some reason & instead I got Insulted ! My 1999 Subaru Legacy seems to wear out headlights on a regular basis. I've previously notices some electrical system quirks (like occasionally fast flashing turn signals) and wonder whether that's shortening that particular shelf life. On the other hand, I've had my Subaru for over 10 years, have close to 180,000 miles on it, and the car has run like a champ overall. Tried to return a product that I didn't like (armor all leather wipes, and btw, I don't recommend), and they wouldn't do it even though there's a 100% money back guarantee printed on the product, a warranty printed on the receipt, and their customer service phone rep said that it was their in store policy to return the product themselves rather than making me go through the manufacturer. I promise I wasn't one of those people who comes in and yells when they don't get their butt's licked, I was conscious about keeping my cool. They guys working weren't rude necessarily, but they definitely made it clear that I either had seats that were beyond cleaning due to serious cracking or that the seats "must be really, really dirty". The seats aren't "really, really dirty" and they are absolutely NOT cracking. Its just their time to be spiffed up... as that tends happens with the daily driver, am I right? Its not that I'm all hot and bothered because I didn't get my way and its not really even about the money ($4.29), its just like.... Come on, man. You're the manager of the store. This would have been a 5 star review if it was not for one employee. I originally went in to replace my dead battery. Andrew helped me out and was super helpful and knowledgeable. He even let me borrow a jump start kit to get my car to take home and bring my car back so we can test the battery to see if it fell under warranty. This was the good part. The bad. There was an employee named "DEE" who walks in to work with a bad attitude and starts yelling at a co worker saying " well that is not my job, and i am not going to help. She is the manager so act like one". He was very combative and negative. He than starts to say "man I should have just called into work sick today. " while andrew was helping me with my battery there was another lady outside who just needed a battery check. Andrews ask if anyone can help her since he was busy with me and there were 2 employees standing behind the register. Before Andrew can finish his sentence, Dee says" I am not changing no battery today, am not going to do all that". Everyone in the store seems helpful and very focus on customer satisfaction accept the one employee Dee. There should be a no star option. I came in to get an OBDII scanner and was immediately told by another employee ("Dee") in a loud and aggressive tone (three times), "You can't return that! Once you buy it, it's yours!" Then I asked the employee helping me, "Can I return it if it's unopened?" He said, "Yea." After paying $260 for a scanner, it took me about 20 minutes to realize that I didn't like Dee's attitude. I went back to the store to return the UNOPENED scanner. Low and behold, Dee was at the register. I approached him and said "You know what. I just want to return this. I actually don't need it." With his insipid looking stare he laughed and said, "What I tell you? I said you can't return it! It's yours now!" Then, he flagged down the guy that had helped me and shouted to him, "Didn't I tell him he couldn't return it?!" I flipped over the receipt and pointed at the policy that clearly stated, UNOPENED PACKAGES MAY BE RETURNED WITHIN 90 DAYS. He shouted back saying, "I don't care what it says!" A female employee approached me saying that only a manager could overrun the transaction because they had a "special password" that would allow a return. Came to find out this is a lie. Then, she suggested I go to Pleasant Hill and return it. Annoyed and angry at how I had been treated, I realized that there were about 8 customers standing and watching. I left the store, but I decided to go back in and get this guys name. I approached him and asked him for his name. He reluctantly said "Dee." As I turned to walk away he yelled out, "Mother fucker!" No care in the world that customers were around. Since then, I've spoken to the manager, assistant manager and an employee at the Pleasant Hill location and was informed that they all knew him because of his "attitude." I reported this guy to that manager, the corporate HQ and the district manager. All seemed to have sympathized with my situation and apologized. However, after almost one week, I have found out that he STILL works there! The worst and most ugliest display of service I've ever encountered. And I'm shocked even more by management to allow such a despicable person to represent the O'Reily brand. After years of shopping at O'Reily, you've lost a customer that's spent hundreds of dollars. But their suppliers are so cheap that they don't put the studs for the pulley in the water pump. Naturally, the studs won't come out of the old pump. Crap. Can you imagine spending all day getting the new water pump in, only to find that you can't put things back together because the pump is incomplete.
