On our initial call, he gave me a valuation in the neighborhood of $12,000 to $12,500, with some flexibility depending on the vehicle's condition. He said, understandably, that he would need to see the vehicle in person before finalizing an offer. I completely agree with that. A used car's condition needs to be verified, and I have no issue with a price changing based on what is actually found. What happened when I arrived, however, was completely different. After looking at the Yukon and "crunching the numbers," Brian quoted $7,500. His explanation was that the vehicle supposedly needed approximately $3,500 in repairs. The problem is that neither the numbers nor the explanation make sense. Brian already knew this vehicle had exceptionally well-documented service history, including the fact that I had recently spent approximately $8,000 at this dealership replacing the transmission and the entire AC system. Those are two major repairs on a Yukon of this age and mileage, and they had just been completed. He had access to the service records and knew exactly what had been done. More importantly, the math simply does not work. If the initial valuation was approximately $12,000 to $12,500 and the alleged repairs were $3,500, that does not logically get you to a $7,500 offer. And using retail repair costs to justify a dealer's acquisition price is also misleading, because a dealership is not paying retail customer pricing for repairs. I also told Brian that Carvana had offered $12,000. His response was that I should take it because Carvana is a national company that would likely send the vehicle to auction rather than retail it. The irony is that on our initial conversation, Brian had described the same basic approach for his dealership, that they could take the vehicle and send it to auction. Once I was standing there with the car, however, the explanation changed to, essentially, "we would need to repair it before we could sell it." I drove to the dealership based on the valuation Brian had discussed with me, only to have the offer reduced by roughly $5,000 after I arrived, with no credible explanation for how the numbers got there. If this isn't a classic bait-and-switch, I don't know what is. It was an absolute waste of my time, and frankly, an insult after having just spent thousands of dollars having major work done at this same dealership. Very disappointing and, in my opinion, extremely unprofessional. I would expect much more transparency and integrity from a dealership, especially when dealing with a customer who has a vehicle with extensive service records from that very dealership.

As for the truck, I also want to acknowledge Abdul, the sales manager, for stepping in and making things right there as well. We got our truck, and while I wish all of these issues could have been avoided from the start, I can appreciate that in the end they were addressed and resolved.

I just saw these guys about a half hour ago…read more My car spun out with the wet weather this morning and the tire came completely off the rim. i was stuck on the side of the freeway. I called for a tow and then called my mechanic and told him that I was going to have my car towed over to his shop - he told me he wouldn't be able service my car for another few days. Luckily a good samaritan stopped and offered me help - he told me that his mechanic Decarlo's is around the corner. Good Samaritan called them and they said "come on over." Tow Truck came and took me to Decarlo's - immediately Chad came out to greet me and gave my car attention straight away. They were so nice and attentive. I was told that if they needed to keep the car then they would have someone drive me back to my office. But they were able to fix the tire straight away, Chad test drove it to make sure it was good and then sent me on my way - without payment... what an amazing guy! I will be going to these guys from now on with all my auto needs! This place restores your faith in humanity - it's good to know there is an auto repair shop that is honest, not all about money, attentive and friendly. THANKS DECARLO'S!

Before coming in, we called and agreed on the purchase price. When we arrived, they had prepared all the paperwork for financing, even though we had never said we wanted to finance or discussed financing at all. After correcting that mistake, the dealership asked us to sign documents for a vehicle that wasn't even ours. The VIN and registration belonged to another customer's car, and we were shown that customer's information. We were the ones who caught the mistake. After they finally located the correct paperwork for our vehicle, the purchase price was suddenly $500 higher than the price we had agreed on over the phone. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes or honoring the agreed-upon price, the sales manager told us, "If you don't like it, you can just return the car. We're not trying to sell a car." That comment was both shocking and unprofessional. It made me wonder: if a car dealership isn't trying to sell cars, what exactly are they doing? Everyone makes mistakes, but professionalism is measured by how those mistakes are handled. Between the incorrect paperwork, the disclosure of another customer's information, the change in price, and the rude attitude from management, this was one of the most unprofessional dealership experiences we've ever had. If you're considering doing business here, double-check every document before signing and verify every price carefully.
