I deal with this company on a daily basis...and they leave a lot to be desired!…read more Example of a VERY common occurrence: Call at 10 a.m. to place an order. They say they "show" it in stock but they will call you back to let you know. At noon you are calling back to see if they actually had it in stock and you are told that they still don't know (all this time MY customer is waiting to hear from ME to see if they can get this part today or not). Call again at 1 to check, only to find out they didn't have it. They tell you that they will order you one and have it "tomorrow" (so, 3 hours later I am calling my customer and eating crow because I can't get it today). Call the next day to make sure it came in so you can pick it up only to find out that it didn't make the 2 p.m. ordering cut-off time the previous day (remember...they KNEW they didn't have it at 1 p.m. but couldn't make the 2 p.m. cut-off). Once again, I am calling my customer to apologize and see if they can wait one more day. This company is the most disorganized organization I have ever dealt with in 25 years of being in the automotive business. I truly don't know if the root cause is poor employee attitude or lack of proper leadership (or both). If I ran my business in this manner I can't help but think I would be out of business very quickly. Unfortunately, price is the only reason I must continue to tolerate their incompetence.

Pull-A-Part Memphis - Junkyard

Pull-A-Part Memphis

This Pull-A-Part location is great. For those people who appreciate the joys of owning and…read moreoperation an older (10 years +) vehicle, most likely paid off too, this place pays us dividends. This is not a typical junkyard. Rather, vehicles are sectioned off by Manufacturer and Type. All on a gravel surface, no muddy fields and kudzu here. My current vehicles have many, many, many miles on them and the youngest is 13 years old. When a part fails or a body panel needs replacing, I come to Pull-A-Part. This place saves me money. For instance, I spotted a like new Duralast (Autozone) alternator from a vehicle for $20-$30 dollars, installed it in an F150, and it's been fine for years. Pull-A-Part is absolutely fantastic for those hard to find interior, engine, brake, suspension, etc. parts. I have replaced many different interior knobs, handles, trim pieces from vehicles here. I needed a set of cadmium plated power steering pump bolts and didn't see any on online auction sight. So, went to Pull-A-Part with my stubby ratchet and metric sockets...problem solved! Also, this place is great for upgrading your base trim vehicle to luxury trim levels. Put some $$$ Lariat seats into that base model XLT. Try going into Autozone and asking for an ashtray for an old Cutlass Brougham or a Lariat dome light bezel for an 1989 Ford XLT. Won't likely happen. Pull-A-Part also has a neat feature where people can search for new vehicles this place brings into the lot. There inventory rotates frequently and when a car is used up, it's likely sent to the crusher for recycling. However, if you're looking for a popular part, you have to act fast as some people will pull parts even if they don't need them and resell them on the market. There is a $2 admission fee and you have to bring your own tools. Also, go see Miss Carolyn at the register. She is so helpful and enthusiastic about her job!

I wanted to keep my car, but fixing it would've cost more than what the car was actually worth and it was also near 150K miles. For Pull-A-Part, you can go online for an estimate of what your vehicle is worth, and someone will call you to make arrangements for pickup. The towing is free and all you'll need is your driver's license, the title (I think it can't have any liens/debts on it), the key, and they give you your money on the spot.
