My barber was Ashley D Page (there were two Ashely's so the last name is for clarification). She did a great job on my hair. She listened to what I wanted and executed. It kind of bothered me for some reason that she would never remember who I was. After going a few times and having personal conversations (I even bought her a sub one day because she said she never tried DB's Cheesesteaks across the street) you would think that person would at least remember that she's seen you in real life before. She did give an amazing cut though and was fun to chat with so I let it slide... haha. I love being able to use an app to see available times and book right there, but I don't like that it would often only give me the option to book a cut with Ashley and have someone else do the shampoo/scalp massage. Obviously it's the available booking times and the computer isn't going to have overlap but I appreciate going through the whole process with one person and I could rarely book it that way. Even when I did, I was sometimes passed off to someone else because they were running behind. When it came time for my next cut, I logged into the Vagaro app to book an appointment and there was nothing available... for anyone. I did some Googling and Facebook stalking to find out that a bunch of barbers all left around the same time. Maybe a mutiny of some sort... I don't have the deets. I thought about booking another appointment with someone else but I was turned off by the manager/owner commenting on the Facebook posts that stylists walked out on customers leaving them high and dry. Maybe that happened, maybe it didn't but either way, it's not a good look to be badmouthing your former employees on social. I found out that Ashley landed at Broad Street Barber which I'm not a fan of (personal reasons that may not be an issue for you... feel free to see my review) so I decided not to follow her. It seems that BSS has hired new barbers and are back on track. No real issue for me with the quality of the shop and their cuts but after the fallout they had, I think I'm moving on to a fresh start elsewhere.

It took me awhile to use the certificate but I finally did last week and I wish I would have done it sooner! Amber was very nice, easy to talk to, accommodating and beyond talented! I went in with damaged hair from a boxed bleach job that left patches of dark hair throughout and over a year of roots. Amber suggested adding some highlights and lowlights in order to blend my roots into the bleached ends and she topped it off by trimming my split ends and styling my hair to perfection. I couldn't be happier! Everyone that has seen me loves the new look as well. The vibe at the shop was cute and laid back. Perfect for Park Circle. I will definitely be returning the next time I need my hair done. I've actually already spoken to Amber about doing a Brazilian blowout next. Highly recommend this salon.

Trash. Cut hair on the floor. Cut hair being blown around with the hairdryers. Customers being impacted. Combs - not being cleaned or disinfected. Owner's white combs have dark stains between the "teeth." When dropped on floor not cleaned or disinfected. Disinfecting Jars - not being utilized and do not appear to be cleaned or replenished as the levels are low and nothing is in them to be disinfected. Floors - dirty and stained. Windowsills - dirty. Hair and dust on each level of the aluminum rails. Work Stations - space under the cabinets - dirty - trash - children play items still there for more than 6 weeks. Complete mess. Can no one clean under the cabinets? Football helmets - layer of dust. Likely not cleaned since the Sale. Veteran items - layer of dust and appear to lack attention. If you cannot maintain; maybe best to remove it. Barbershop Chairs - dirty and getting worst. Barbershop Chair Cushions - aging and cupping on the 4 sides. Potential trip hazards. The problem was he kept asking for a good online review by scanning a QR code. I went ahead and posted a 5 star review right then and there to help them out. The salon booked me with level 4 stylist, Amie. She is very personable and we chatted the whole time. All of the employees that work for the salon seem to enjoy the work environment and culture, which always makes the experience pleasant for customers. I went in with very dark, box color-treated hair and some weird orange balyage and came out with shiny, smooth perfectly highlighted hair.
