This wooded boardwalk skirts a nature area, winding part-way around a marshy pond in the…read moresoutheastern section of O'Fallon's large Winghaven subdivision. A sidewalk continues the walk along the marsh. The boardwalk is best found by locating the Air Evac headquarters across the street. It's a wonderful natural teaching area and birdwatching location--especially for ducks and geese. Though not a long boardwalk it's probably a suitable distance for a busy toddler. The walkway above the marsh is in very good shape and safe for children. Though a larger child might climb over the railings it would be virtually impossible for a small child to work through them. There's plenty to see and point out in the marsh, which has a different character throughout the seasons. A gazebo at the western entrance offers a rest spot. Ramps at either end allow wheelchair accessibility. The marsh is maintained by the MO Department of Conservation while the subdivision maintains the boardwalk. This is not an O'Fallon city park; there are no restroom facilities. There is no designated area for parking.

Tucked into neighborhoods on the north side, Westhoff also offers its own unique attractions, including: -Courts or fields for baseball, softball, basketball, roller hockey, pickleball, horseshoes, sand volleyball, and tennis. -The city's only skate/BMX park. -Two playgrounds, including Brendan's Playground, which is the city's only fully accessible, unlimited play spot for children with special needs (though available to children of all ages and abilities). -Water splash pad. I also like that they have a paved walking area, a covered pavilion, picnic tables and 2 play areas (one in sun, one in a wooded/shaded area). There are shaded overwatch towers for parents to watch their kids in any part of the park, there is a splash park and multiple playground areas dependent on your child's size. We stayed for over two hours and the kids did not want to leave. Our kids ages range from 10-4 and everyone had a good time. My mother in law walked the trail several times. The other parents/kids were very friendly too, great park, great atmosphere. The only downside, which isn't even bad, it's expected, is that the bathrooms were not that clean, but it was manageable for what was needed for the kiddos to pee and go back to playing. When I'm St Louis again, we would come back!!
