We had a great family night! Fun games every inning. Lots of special events. Sit in the outfield…read moreand toss a tennis ball or right behind home plate in general admission for $10. Free parking. Beautiful field. Check it out!

I tried to come up with a catchy title for this one, but with the comedy of errors, the only thing…read moreI could come up with was... "Hoots on first? I don't know... Third Base!'" I'll.be honest, I hate most major league ballparks. There just so "stuffy and expensive". And I grew up an Astros fan, so being a Cards fan wasn't' "in the cards", so I need a local non-Cardinals associated team.. and to be honest before the Hoots came around, I was a huge River City Rascals fan (before they moved out). So why not try the "new" team? I can spare a 'tenner', right? So let's start with the comedy of errors. Gates opened at 5:30 (not the game start). If a schedule says x o'clock that's the first pitch guys, not gates opening! Current cost: $10 So I buy a ticket an hour before the gates open and have to wait. Good news is, met a crew from the Veterans hospital and they were absolutely hilarious crew to hang with (before and during) the game. Chuck and crew, I hope we get to do that again! Okay, back to the comedy of errors... so I get my ticket out for the gate. And it won't scan!!! All of the sudden we realize the clerk gave me a ticket for next week's game. Really guys? It's that easy to print the wrong game? (-1 star) Thankfully one of the girls recognized me and got me a new Valid ticket quickly. (+.5 star) So now it's time to go look around, and I'll be honest other than a couple of signs, NOTHING really appears to have gotten an update since I was last here (Even a wastecan still had the Rascals logo!). I think even the Perch seems unchanged and just still feels "old", but as I'm soloing I don't need to spend the $$$ to reserve the area, so I'm not 100% sure here. So off to the gift shop. Something that always disappointed me previously, and I'm sorry to say the product selection hasn't improved much. Mostly kids t-shirts (understandable) and hats, but no jerseys for adult sizes beyond a few XL. But I will say they did have a nice variety of Hoots bobbleheads in various outfits. So there's something to work around! But they need to showcase the goods and not just leave them near a back(front?) window. Along with the limited selection of goods, it was DARK, lighten up the room guys.. make it inviting! Late at night it felt like a tomb, more so than gift shop! (-1 full star) But now its food and drink time. It's not busy, so only three eateries are open.. It's baseball, so a brat is mandatory.. only guess what! The least busiest food stand didn't have yet delivered from the main line... Yep, the comedy of errors continue. Well I promise the server I'll be back and she promises to have some. When I realize the foodshops all stocked differently! But this is a little comedy of errors, as I can go with something different, just to order at one find stand... Updated cost: $22 (12 for 1 brat/beer. OUCH a bit!) Uniformity guys or specialize!! (PS: Even the "mystery beer" food cart wasn't running and honestly, it was a "prize" I think should be going for every home game. Great gimmick idea but inactive?) (-.5 stars) The food cart restocks and all is well until they realize they don't have my adult beverage of choice.. the other ones do, but I really can pick 'em huh? (-.5) (So better not ask me for my fanduel bets.. unless you're going opposite and voila. Winner!) Entertainment: So the basic entertaining is for the kids. Rightfully so, but they do have something for the adults! But bring a pen. as you will see. After home half of the inning, they do baseball bingo where every player is assigned 8 bingo letter/# combos, based on the result of their AB (Single, pop fly, walk, etc) and their position. You get 5 cards, and any 5 #'s in a row on any card gives you a prize. That's great til you realize you got nothing to mark your #'s with, and it may take two innings for enough # and with 5 cards, hope you got a good memory! Great idea.. but a big board of numbers might be nice for those of us who need to be reminded to check our tickets, much less track bingo #'s. (No penalty - just consider it). Which takes me to the staff, very friendly, w/both adults and kids, so huge thumbs up for all the smiles, even on an overcast day. (PS: Cotton-eyed joe is a CIRCLE dance :P ) (+1) Which finally brings me to the seating, and while it appears that absolutely nothing has changed in that part of the stadium either, this is a case of you don't fix what isn't broken. I selected 3 different locations to watch from the infield, (general admission is a great thing) and not a bad view of the field from anywhere. (Although I should have done one from the wall, just to heckle the outfielders instead of the ump). And one more adult beverage for another 7. So $29 bucks in all, not a bad 4 hours out at the park. Not MLB prices, but not total budget friendly anymore. But the real q is why haven't you used my "Hoots on first" slogan yet? (Feel free to use, but I want slgoan credit!!)

Can't say enough great things about the summer camp and the focus on developing wrestlers, and as important good people and teammates. There are discussions about the mental side of wrestling- often forgotten about, how techniques can conquer all, nutrition and weights/cardio, and the honest truth that wrestling is hard and a grind and is not for everyone- you, the wrestler, need to want it - it is not the coach or the parent (although they are important to support the wrestler). It really helped my son to focus on his goals and how he can obtain them. 5 stars is not enough for Purler

He has scars on his arms that he now has to live with for the rest of his life because of the irresponsible "adults" and "coaches" at this camp! GROSS! Do not ever send your child to this camp!!! Also, we have been in touch with the kids my son wrestled and they were diagnosed with all of the above AND Covid!

This place is fairly easy to get to, although parking was a bit tricky (I parked on the side and was unaware there was more parking on the other side of the building); also, I was unaware this was place was shared with an event space. When you first walk in, you'll see a sign for the event space upstairs and the 18 N Central place below. There are several computers for you to sign in (which consists of retrieving your info, picking a username and swiping a card (which I believe you can use for next time) and is also given to you from the front desk. The activities determine where you go. Since we were doing laser tag, we walked around the corner and were given a brief set of rules and instructions. Then we were assigned a team, our gear, and led to the actual laser tag area. We played a series of games and it was cool because throughout the games you could see your shooting percentage, kills, and etc. I had no expectations since this was my first time ever playing laser tag, but my competitive side refused to let me come in dead last. All in all, I had a great time. My only constructive criticism is to slow down when giving the directions. While it seemed like most people had experience, it was intimidating for those who didn't, especially when it came down to doing anything with the gun. Additionally, it made me feel like I was in the military for a second because the guy was talking so fast and made it as if he didn't want/need to repeat himself. The bright side, there is a bar and they serve food, so you can always people watch, too!
