What is not great is waiting over an hour for food. We didn't come to play trivia. The focus should be on food, not game night since not everyone is there for trivia. Table behind us who came 20/30 minutes after us got their food before us. Went here on a visit to see our son and daughter in law, based on some good things they had heard about the wings. They have a special way to double fry their buffalo wings, and they were very good. My son's Philly cheese steak looked awesome and he said it was. Wife and DIL split a quesadilla and said it was pretty good. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was average. We all had the seasoned fries, and they are awesome. The reason for 3 stars instead of 4, was the drinks. DIL and I ordered diet Pepsi, which was undrinkable. Had a funny taste, like it was running out of syrup. Our waitress said "yeah, our diet Pepsi is not very good". So my DIL went with water, and decided to try the diet mountain dew. It was worse than the DP, and it had black "stuff" in the bottom of the glass. When I handed this one back to the waitress and told her, the response was "we have problems with our fountain drinks". What? Why wouldn't you warn customers in advance that you're having problems, instead of just letting them order the drinks? All in all, I would be willing to try them again. Never been here before but first experience was pretty bitter. Called ahead and order 24 wings, was given a 20 min wait time, cool. I get here 25 minutes later, they are fairly slow, get ignored for 5 minutes before asked if I'd been helped, I gave them the order they walked off to check and ignored me for an additional 35 minutes I assume because they knew my order had been forgotten. This a no frills kind of bar. Don't go in here looking for cocktails like an Old Fashion for example. Get a beer, a jack and coke or something simple. The service I received was pretty good. I wasn't expecting much from the prior reviews. I went here to meet a friend who was in town, and I haven't seen in a long time. If i could give this place no stars, I would. Sadly this place is a dump and could have potential if the manager Kenny wasn't all over the place. He's not a good manager especially yelling at the employees in front of customers. The food is great but the experience is a total waste of time. Ok so every time I go here the service is a gamble. There's new staff from week to week. Sometimes great service and sometimes terrible. The closing time is always different than what is posted on the door. You can hear the manager, Kenny, screaming from the kitchen. Either it's a small kitchen or he's really blowing the roof off the barn. The wings are awesome but really this is not a place that you should spend your money, especially after the way I have heard the owner and manager treat their employees. Horrible ineffective bartender day shift on Feb 16 2019. Very unfriendly and rude. Everyone at the bar was happy when she got off of her shift. Her co workers and staff were laughing because they knew she has a personality of a rock and shouldn't be a bartender. Bad drinks and bad service. I'm sorry I tipped you 20 percent. Wish I could give this place zero stars. Our experience was mortifying. The waiter was extremely rude with an attitude all night. He sat down at the table next to us to smoke throughout the night. Were there for about 2.5 hours and got checked on 3-4 times. When it was time for the bill I got my card snatched from my hand. Because of our crappy experience we wrote on the checks for the waiter to be nicer and we had horrible service. The waiter flipped and said, and I quote, "you don't write shit like that on my tickets you fucking bitches". He told the guy we were with that him and his bitches needed to leave. We got told to "get the fuck out" by a manager and another staff member. This was on a Saturday night. Monday I called and left my name and number for the owner. I have called every other day. Bathroom smelled like a pig pen. Had bugs in my drink. The one bartender was completely unprofessional. Other than that it was gross.

New and Improved! O'Cool's is now under new ownership and management with an updated menu. The restaurant has been completely cleaned and renovated with new floors, new bathrooms, new bar top, tables, modern chairs and even a new ceiling, no more piles of swamp dirt like from previous decades of being Wilson's sportiest dive bar. Looking forward to sample the new menu. 5 stars now because the previous O'Cools was a shithole. read more

I'm actually a fan of ocool's. when i was in college, i use to go for food and drinks ever once in a while. i heard you could not drink liquor out on the patio anymore, which is bummer, but great food and decent prices. I definitely miss having a pitcher of yuengling under 10 bucks. Decent spot. Wilson has changed in the last 3 years, so i'm the last person to ask if this is still the spot to go. read more

Went here last night with some friends. The beer was cold, the wings were hot and the homemade chips and cheese dip were the bomb! Patrick, the manager was also out waiter as they did not have a lot of help and he did an awesome job. Will definitely be going back. read more

I am AMAZED at the changes of this place. I moved away from Wilson, NC summer of 2015, and O'Cools was heading down the drain.....that place was just nasty, half the time they were out of Wings, the waitresses looked unprofessional, the never had a beer list, the ceiling in the bathroom looked like it was going to fall down on me....fast forward to now, while I was away I was told they got new owners and remodeled the place. We went back July 2, 2016 and HOLY CRAP, that place is so nice now! Everything has been remodeled, new chairs, new tables, new menus, A BEER LIST AT EVERY TABLE!!!. The wings are STILL the same, amazing! We had an amazing server, didn't catch his name, but he had blonde hair and wore a hat....he was very attentive, even though they were short staffed. If I still lived in Wilson, I would be at O'Cool's every weekend, no doubt about that. I'm just sad that they didn't remodel sooner while I lived there. Kudos to O'Cools and their new owners, keep it up! :) (p.s. please never run out of wings). LOL :) read more

I have eaten many times at this very nice bar and grill but tonite we decided to do take out. Josh was super helpful and a very polite person on the phone as he took my order and the battered refried buffalo wings were the best I have had from there as well as the cheese fries and Pepperjack cheese dip!!
