Great food and atmosphere! Taco's are really good! I've never had a bad meal here. Drinks are reasonably priced.

Also has more than a few drinks. The food offerings are basic and greasy. Basic looking place in one of the unfortunate suburbs around. It's a great fit for the area at least. The inside of it is quite small and is always crowded no matter whenever. Has a list of drink specials that are daily. It's always $5 to get a pint of Bud Light or a shot of whiskey. As for the food it's the usual fried and meaty. It's about $7 to get things like burgers, sandwiches, or whatever. Again the menu is mostly meaty. They have chips and popcorn. For sure it's not a high class establishment. It's open late. They have lots of games such as slots.

Some days the bar itself can get impossibly crowded as a lot of people go here in large groups. They have great lunch specials and cheap beer specials too. Beer options are standard, mostly domestic bottles and cans with only a few craft options like Founders All Day IPA and 1-4 from Blue Island Beer Company. There's just a few taps, maybe 4 total? The best things for me are probably the grill behind the bar where all the food is cooked to order by your bartender, as well as all the cool events that their owner organizes. He's super involved in the community which is awesome! There's local bean bag tournaments, meat auctions, put put golf tournaments, and roast beef events. It's all super fun. Definitely worth checking out for a cheap burger and beer special. Cheers!

A true throwback, Riverside Tap is frequented by locals who always seem to be happy to meet a new regular. Tucked away from the street and near the Little Calumet River, Riverside Tap boasts one of the BEST outdoor spaces I've sat down to have a drink in. Grab a cheap n cold classic (Old Style or the like - nothing too fancy here) and head out the side door for an amazing beer garden filled with horseshoe pits, barbeque grills, and cozy decks. You'll feel far from home, and the dull roar of the interstate and nearby freight trains start to seem relaxing as you settle in for a drink with friends. Honestly, I don't know why this place isn't packed every weekend, but to be fair, it's probably best that it's not. It's a secret you might want to keep, but can't resist sharing. There's nothing else like it. You can't buy this sort of authenticity these days. The owners are great, the bartenders are friendly, the regulars full of stories and happy to share. I'd hate to call it a dive bar, because it's just too damn fantastic. But if you're looking for the sunniest dive in Blue Island, this is your spot.

The tv and lights were in but no one in sight. We called, there was no answer. More people started coming, they finally opened the doors around 5:30ish. We had to go through a TSA security style pat down, id check, and purse search. At this point I'm wondering what clientele are they used to where a patron has to be subjected to such a violation. All we wanted were some drinks and appetizers. Once we get passed security check, there was no hostess to tell us where to go since ALL the seats were marked "Reserved" so we go to the upstairs bar, same thing ALL the seats were "Reserved". Now our frustration is beginning to turn into a " oh hell naw" moment. We ask the bartender who was a lovely lady what's the protocol. She said all seating was bottle service only and everyone else had to stand up. We asked how much, she didn't know. Someone finally came back and said... drumroll... $600-$700 a bottle. Get the heck out of here with that b.s.!!! Why on earth would anyone who's not a drug dealer pay $600/$700 a bottle for a something that retails $35. I try so hard to support black owned businesses but crap like this is why I take my business out of the community. Poor customer service, false advertising, unorganized, and bad attitudes. I understand the pandemic has the restaurant business cash strapped but to take advantage of patrons with some fake bougee crap is a stretch. We ended up at Bourbon St in Marionette Park where we paid $80 for a 5 drinks and 4 appetizers. I really wanted to give my people my money but after that poor PR stunt me and my friends won't be going back ever.
