Neighborhood bar with great vibes. They have strong community connections. Everyone knows everyone…read morehere.

I went to the endzone after a long day with my boyfriend, we met my sister and her boy friend…read morethere. The night started off okay and we were having an okay time. We kept getting our conversation interrupted by the bar tender whose name was Val. We were talking about old navy and she interrupted our convo and started being fatphobic about the sizes they offered "why do they have so many sizes, it's wild, who even wears that size" and when my by chimed in about how inclusive they are and how some people need it and, she started putting her foot in her mouth and tripping over her words, strike one. My boy friend then stated to talk to another patron in he bar and she kept interrupting their conversation and making it about her and her bf, but the thing is no one was talking to her once again, the patron ended up leaving after the 3rd interruption, strike 2. This final strike caused us to leave the bar and we won't ever be coming back. We were once again having a conversation, without her and she come up to us and loudly called us "Ladies" in front of everyone, this is after I had already introduced him as my boyfriend. He corrected her and I also corrected her and she just stood there with a stupid blank expression over her face like she didn't hear what we said. She then tried to give a half ass apology about her being drunk/tipsy and she didn't mean any harm by it, but the damage was done. She was obviously off of some drug or something because she couldn't sit still and she kept twitching. She never apologized and we left right after. After being a patron of this bar for over 2 years, I expected more respect or just common decency. It is soooooo unsafe and dangerous to be so unaware, especially with the political landscape of the city being what it is. She is able to go on with her life and it's not a good look for the bar and I will not be returning and telling my friends to also not return to the bar. Her behavior was beyond unacceptable and not be returning.

We recently hosted a party in Lawlor's back room and it was perfect. 60 people fit just right for a…read moresit down meal. It's a perk to have your own bar and bartender. The staff was attentive and accommodated our every wish and went out of their way to make us happy. The food was delicious; we ordered baked chicken, Italian beef, potatoes, mac n cheese, green beans and salad. The price was more than fair and the portions were incredibly generous, loads of guests even left with containers of food for the next day. One of our guests commented that the room was the perfect mix of a sports bar and nice restaurant. I would highly recommended them for any special event.

Lawlor's is one of the many such places around here if it wasn't already obvious. A little farther away from the Beverly bars and hangouts. The menu is basic and there's pretty good prices. Basically we walked over here after hitting a few other of the area bars. It's actually in a new location. The older one used to be located closer to 111th and Pulaski. It was a true dive. This one though is a lot more modern looking. Has the same drinks but with food that's also edible. There's still a charm to it though. It's about $5 to get Jameson. There's also plenty on tap. It's about $7 for the Pretzel Bites. Kind of basic with a side of cheese sauce. I used mustard. The rest of the menu has meaty items like pork chops and things like that. Good place to come hang a bit. It's in a new location about a mile away from the old one. This is worth checking out getting away from the more popular places on Western.
