Not really knowing whats good or bad we kind of walked into the blind thinking that we would probably find something to take home. Right off the bat we could see that they had a wide selection of different brands to pick from ranging in different price ranges. They had a couple cans to taste but we also noticed that the ones they were tasting were on the higher end of the price spectrum. We ended up just picking a couple cans from a few different brands including tuna, sardines, smoked fish, octopus, etc. Back in the main part of town we also passed another store that was similar but it looked like it was just a singular brand. Regardless of what your interests are, i would definitely recommend stopping.

It was difficult to only pick a few entrées, to try, but I think our favorite was the seafood. It was crowded and a little difficult to maneuver with a stroller when we arrived around 3 PM. The tables are set up for sharing and we were lucky to share ours with a wonderful family finding out we had connections to the same state in the US.

There's a variety of options and cuisines available, plus beers, wine and cocktails for purchase. Desserts are also available.

I'd been to other Time Out Markets, in the US, and found them places which I had little desire to return to. Not this one, to which I returned at least 3 other times. It wasn't just the easy appeal of an amply-poured glass of great wine at an equally great price, but the whole vibe of the place, featuring the best of Portugal's best. Literally, everything looked appealing here; choosing what to eat to accompany that wine? That was my sole dilemma. One side of this place has eateries that feature really well-priced nightly specials, often selling out, which gives you an idea of their popularity. I frequently found myself in another stretch of the place, opting for a wonderfully fresh sushi platter that ran about $30US. If you do nothing more than come for food and drink you'll likely not notice that there's a really wonderful, artsy shop (A Vida Portuguesa) that features unique and beautiful gifts for yourself or others. Also, a bookstore upstairs and, during the daytime, a huge farmer's market/green-grocery in another space attached to the main hall, but easily overlooked. I highly recommend this Time Out Market, even suggesting you plan your stay to be in close proximity. That's how much I liked it.

We ended up getting three from Portugal (all different types), a blue from Spain, and a pecorino from Italy. We also got a salad with burrata, as well as a plate of Portuguese ham. Everything was outstanding, but the Spanish blue was the biggest standout for me. I really can't recommend this place enough -- the staff was fantastic, and the food was even better.

They also sell cured meats and wine. The place is split into two parts. One side is more of a market, and the other side is the tasting room. After the sampling, we sat down and ordered our plates and some wine and kicked back to an amazing meal. The server was great and they even had high chairs. We were the only ones in the whole place too so that helped. It is nicely decorated and well priced. What else can be better?!
Awesome owner.

Today I'm thankful for this, one of my favorite places to eat in Lisbon…read more It's off the beaten path, and a lot quieter and more accessible than the Time Out Market. If you're looking for a good daytime activity in Lisbon, get over here with all your friends, eat all the things, and then window shop/actually shop as you wander back toward the city center. There are a LOT of different stalls manned by very personable people, and we split up, ordered whatever we wanted, and reconvened at all of the very comfortable tables to eat everything. We had: ramen, two different steaks, rice and beans, salad, fries, oysters, shawarma, a few different baos, candied nuts, and one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. And honestly, it was all pretty affordable. There are even some cute little clothing shops, if you ever get tired of eating. I don't, really. Truly, a great stop in Lisbon.

We bought a red and a white and a white that were excellent. They accepted credit cards .I'm told there is a good farmer's market there on Saturday's. Some basic Portuguese was needed for the vegetables vendor but the young woman in the olive oil store offered to speak English. This was a fun experience we won't forget.

The one stand out dish was definitely the Fried Seabass. It was really good! Sadly the Octopus Hot Dog was a bit underwhelming as I kept getting some hard pieces with every bite. We loved everything that we ordered but especially the lobster roll (their take don't expect a Maine style roll), sardine nigiri, garlic shrimp (the sauce was incredible and came with bread) and the dessert. The food came out very quickly but we were having dinner at 7pm. The total for two people was around 80 euro with the discount, but we did not get drinks other than still water.

A unique concept and makes for a great (and affordable) gift!…read more Meia Dúzia is pretty much Portugal in a tube. There are a variety of jams, chutneys and pastes to choose from in a sleek packaging and all of the flavors are truly complex. The spreads can be used however you please: on cheeses, on toast, on desserts, on a spoon. And if you're on the fence, they do have a tasting center with their helpful staff as well! We ended up with a set of 3 tubes in a snazzy box for about 15 euros and will be using those for gifts, which is not terribly priced at all!
