There's a variety of options and cuisines available, plus beers, wine and cocktails for purchase. I would leave small children at home with a babysitter, as trying to maneuver through the crowds with a stroller is just too much to deal with. We liked the tacos, burgers and pad Thai. Desserts are also available.

Jamie W and I have been to the smaller Time Out Markets in NYC (Union Square and DUMBO), but we could never find our footing in these places. This one has the distinction of being the original Time Out Market, so it's had over a dozen years since its opening in 2014 to develop its cred with dilettante foodies and insufferable vloggers. At the same time, the rigid conformity of the food vendors to the Time Out brand makes this place feel far removed from the family-run businesses where you can get a more authentic ambiance and for the most part, cheaper prices. Paying the equivalent of $8 for an overdecorated donut may produce momentary Instagram gratification but little else (Photo 8). That's not to say the layout here isn't well organized, but basically you're relegated to long communal tables where your movements are restricted. Being elbows-to-elbow with famished, arm-waving tourists is not ideal. We were even here during off-peak hours, so I'm presuming it becomes more chaotic and cacophonous during lunch and dinner rushes, especially with the reverberations created from the high ceilings (Photo 9). With dozens upon dozens of food choices, this place is ideal for large groups who have no interest in exploring their own dining options, the ones who are perfectly satisfied with hanging out in food courts in shopping malls. If you're looking for a good daytime activity in Lisbon, get over here with all your friends, eat all the things, and then window shop/actually shop as you wander back toward the city center. There are a LOT of different stalls manned by very personable people, and we split up, ordered whatever we wanted, and reconvened at all of the very comfortable tables to eat everything. We had: ramen, two different steaks, rice and beans, salad, fries, oysters, shawarma, a few different baos, candied nuts, and one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. And honestly, it was all pretty affordable. There are even some cute little clothing shops, if you ever get tired of eating. I don't, really. Truly, a great stop in Lisbon.

We stopped into an organic olive oil place and the lovely and informative purveyor gave us an olive oil tasting. I mentioned the next day was U.S. Thanksgiving and we were making an all vegetarian meal. She ,wisely, suggested we check out their selections of organic wines. We bought a red and a white and a white that were excellent. They accepted credit cards .I'm told there is a good farmer's market there on Saturday's. Some basic Portuguese was needed for the vegetables vendor but the young woman in the olive oil store offered to speak English. This was a fun experience we won't forget.

A friend had highly recommended this spot when I said I was going to Lisbon. It was conveniently…read morelocated across the street from the hotel I stayed at. We had reservations for a party of 2 on a Saturday at 6 PM. When you check in, they give you a slip of paper which has a QR code on it for you to access the menu later, and we were promptly seated upstairs. The menu is conveniently available in several languages (you select your language at the bottom of the main menu page). We were at a long table for 6, with us sitting on the inside and another couple sitting at the end, and the table settings in between us were cleared, so it didn't feel like we were on top of one another. I appreciated that the server gave recommendations that would be good for two people. We went with most of his recommendations (shrimps on garlic sauce (it's labeled as spicy, but it's really not), clams on garlic, tiger prawns grilled on bed of salt) and added some of our own (razor clams and lobster roll). All the seafood tasted fresh, bursting with flavor from the buttery garlic sauce, which we sopped up with garlic bread. The bread is brought to the table when you first get seated. It's not free, which I was aware of, but I knew it would go well with the dishes we ordered. The razor clams were juicy and sweet. The lobster roll was good, but not something I would order again when there's so many other fantastic seafood choices. I usually don't drink beer, but felt that it was appropriate since we were at a cervejaria, so I ordered a bottle of Sagres Bohemia. It went perfectly with the seafood. My SO, who doesn't drink alcohol, got peach iced tea. I wanted to get the prego sandwich for dessert, but my SO was pretty much full at that point, so I ordered a tarte whisky and a cappuccino for myself. The whisky ice cream layer in the tarte was nice and refreshing. I was shocked when we got the bill and it came out to less than 50€. This meal would have cost so much more in the US. You pay via tablet at the end and I left a generous tip in appreciation of the wonderful meal and service. They get you in and out of there quick, but it never felt like we were being rushed out. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for some fresh, delicious seafood in Lisbon.

You check in and then they ask you wait in their waiting area next door which looks a little bare and the outside patio seems like a smoking area. After we were called, we walked upstairs to a brightly-lit dining room. Lots of serving staff and all very friendly. Their menu is extensive and it's great they have photos too! My favorites had to be the giant tiger prawn, razor clams, and the crab head, but everything was tasted good and the seafood tasted fresh. Would recommend!
