A fun place to eat Have you ever visited the Ferry Building Market Place in San Francisco or Pike Place Market in Seattle? Mercado de Campo de Ourique or Campo de Ourique Market in Lisbon, Portugal, is very much like these two. Campo de Ourique Market is a neighborhood food market that opened in 1934. It has been remodeled twice since then, once in 1991 and again in 2013, by António Maria Braga, a Portuguese architect specializing in traditional Portuguese architecture. The market offers fresh fish and vegetables daily. The stalls of the traditional market and those serving different types of traditional Portuguese to Japanese food surround the tables of the food hall. If you are into wines, they are served by glass or bottle. Cocktails are also available. We were walking the neighborhood and happened to get to the market at lunchtime. It was a pleasant experience which I recommend to all who visit Lisbon.

Very nice place, clearly recommend to go. Various offers of food and drinks. Better to go in the morning as the fish market is then open too. The market is close to the cemetery, which is also recommended to visit.

Although there are less choices here, it's a lot quieter than the Time Out Market You can find vendors that sell seafood, steak, salads and desserts. We got the steaks with this to die for prevance housemade sauce that tasted like truffle cream. The meat was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Even the rice was cooked with flavor. Probably salt and fat. Shouldn't be missed if you're in the area riding Tram 28 till the end.

Smaller, more humble, perhaps original, version of Timeout Market. Less crazy, so worth the visit. We had a delicious meal of grilled seabream from the seafood stall.

It is a market for the locals to buy food. A foodies delight. Fish, meat, veggies, and many specialty shops. 10OCT2017 We came again and had a similar lunch experience. €29 30SEP2017 We came for lunch. A very upscale food court. Vinho rosé, Herdade de Peso Sossego, €12. It comes with wine glasses. Cold. Tracie had the super trendy Ravioli Allan Bolognese. Served on a black slate plate with micro arugula and balsamic vinegar. My Liguini Carbonara was cooked al dente, lots of cream sauce and bits of ham in a large ceramic bowl. + Wi-Fi + Awesome food court. Why can't we have these in the USA? €29.50 for lunch.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Farmers market plus great food. Steak sandwich plus wine, sangria, and bruschetta. All so good. A must if visiting.

It's close to where the 25E tram terminates, making it accessible, but still off the beaten path for most tourists.

There's a variety of options and cuisines available, plus beers, wine and cocktails for purchase. I'd been to other Time Out Markets, in the US, and found them places which I had little desire to return to. Not this one, to which I returned at least 3 other times. It wasn't just the easy appeal of an amply-poured glass of great wine at an equally great price, but the whole vibe of the place, featuring the best of Portugal's best. Literally, everything looked appealing here; choosing what to eat to accompany that wine? That was my sole dilemma. One side of this place has eateries that feature really well-priced nightly specials, often selling out, which gives you an idea of their popularity. I frequently found myself in another stretch of the place, opting for a wonderfully fresh sushi platter that ran about $30US. If you do nothing more than come for food and drink you'll likely not notice that there's a really wonderful, artsy shop (A Vida Portuguesa) that features unique and beautiful gifts for yourself or others. Also, a bookstore upstairs and, during the daytime, a huge farmer's market/green-grocery in another space attached to the main hall, but easily overlooked. I highly recommend this Time Out Market, even suggesting you plan your stay to be in close proximity. That's how much I liked it.

Occurring on Tuesdays and Saturdays, this open air flea market or, "thieve's market" (the literal translation), stretches from the bottom of one hill to the top, both sides of the street, with what's easily over a hundred vendors. I'd heard that bargaining isn't welcomed here and didn't try but even though I loved looking at everything, only a couple of things interested me enough to inquire about price. In the end, I tired of looking at everything before I ran out of everything to be looked at, but didn't come away empty-handed. A small art print was my prized-possession as well as a belief that everyone serious about vintage finds should make time for this during time spent in Lisbon.

There were tons and tons of vendors with all sorts of things at great prices for several city blocks with roads blocked off for pedestrians making it easy to shop. There was a nice mix of antiques and ceramics and old and new. I got a few small keepsakes as well as some totes and clothing for my daughter at fair prices. Definitely worth the visit. Plus, we walked through the charming Alfama and did additional shopping and snacking along the way. Several really cute breakfast spots can be found here.

Again, when we went it wasn't happening. They offer 2 for 1 drinks Thursday through Saturday for after work hours. Again, it wasn't the same time we went. So, the possibilities here are abound. I had seafood and it was great. The salad I had with my salmon was great, the veggies not so much. The grilled pepper and shrimp was really good. My husband had the Asian food and his soup was way too salty. My son had the spaghetti bolognese and he liked it, but I tried and not so much. He liked it, so whatever. We had a sangria that was sooooo good. I am obsessed with the sangria's here. The inside seating was rather hot so we went outside and it was nicer, but we felt the music was rather loud. Maybe because there wasn't too many people if felt loud. Regardless, we will definitely be back!! Hope to make it to one of their many events.

For me, looking for a good dinner, it feels like a sad indoor shopping mall food court. The food options are undesirable, the drinks are overpriced for this venue. Inside, there was an odd smell.
