They are all so sweet and welcoming. Dr. Mackey is well experienced and is great at explaining things. For nearly all of my visits. I have had Lindsey clean my teeth who was super sweet and gentle. My last visit I had Amanda who was welcoming and super thorough! It was slightly uncomfortable, but i appreciate her thoroughness. For cleaning flavors. I recommend the birthday cake! During the visit, there's a small waiting room with a tv and keurig. In the cleaning rooms, there's a tv on the wall and ceiling to make time go by. At the end, you get a goody bag with a new toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste.

Before moving to Texas, I had a dentist who was very personable and listened to my concerns. In contrast, this dentist feels a bit more rushed. Maybe because it was a Saturday? I noticed she tends to speak over me, and while she's trying to maintain a professional demeanor, you can tell she's on a strict time crunch. It's hard to feel fully heard when it feels like the clock is the top priority. For now, I'll likely stay with this practice primarily for the convenience. It's a lot of legwork to find a new provider and transfer records, so as long as the work is competent, I'm staying put. However, if any major issues arise, I'll probably take that as my cue to look for a place that feels like a better personal fit.

I originally came in for a routine cleaning that was covered by my dental insurance before my sister's wedding. Instead, I was immediately told I couldn't have a regular cleaning and that I had to get a deep cleaning instead. It felt like a bait-and-switch from the very beginning. I initially refused because I only wanted the preventive cleaning I came in for, but after enough pressure, I eventually agreed. After the deep cleaning, the office instructed me to return every three months for maintenance cleanings instead of every six months. I trusted their professional judgment and followed every recommendation they gave me. Three months later, I returned for my scheduled maintenance cleaning, and everything went as expected. Another three months later--approximately six months after my original deep cleaning--I returned for the next maintenance cleaning that they had scheduled. They administered approximately six to eight anesthetic injections because they knew I have severe dental anxiety. My entire mouth was completely numb, I could barely speak, and I was ready for the cleaning to begin. Only then did the office manager, Maria, come into the room and tell me they were not going to perform the cleaning I had been scheduled for. Instead, I was told I needed another deep cleaning and would have to pay approximately $2,000 before they would do anything. I was sitting in the dental chair, completely numb, unable to speak clearly, drooling from the anesthesia, and being told that unless I agreed to spend thousands of dollars, I would receive no treatment at all. I asked Maria to let me speak with the staff member who had treated me during my previous visits because they knew my history and had been involved in my previous treatment. I was told everyone was too busy and no one would come speak with me. I left without receiving any treatment after enduring multiple injections for absolutely nothing. I have never felt so humiliated in a healthcare setting. I walked into that office trusting the people treating me and walked out feeling pressured, embarrassed, and completely defeated. The experience destroyed the trust I had built with that office and has made me genuinely afraid of going to another dentist. Patients deserve honesty. Patients deserve to know what treatment they're receiving and what it will cost BEFORE needles go into their mouths--not afterward, when they're already numb and vulnerable. If this is how patients are treated after following every recommendation the office makes, I cannot recommend this practice to anyone.
