My husband and I found ourselves in the area on St. Patrick's Day and I insisted on a meal of corned beef with cabbage. The place that we initially thought to go to wasn't serving until later in the evening, and since we had a plane to catch later that day, we decided on this place. And I sure am glad we did. My meal really didn't look like much but it was amazing. I'm not usually one for carrots, but these carrots were absolutely perfect, as was everything else. I've made several trips to Bradenton and this was the place to be. Just a block up from the water with nice patio seating and a very eclectic menu. Don't let the name of the restaurant fool you, this is no average Irish Pub. The menu is unique and extensive. They also have daily Chef specials which I strongly recommend you ask your server about if its not mentioned. On this particular night we tried the Carpaccio, the Lobstergot, the Lamb Chops, and the Stuffed Peppers. Some even more special items: Martin Monday all day for $7. 1/2 off bottles of Wine and Wednesdays and Happy Hour DAILY (yes, every day) Happy Hour from 2-7pm. I can't wait to go back! read more

The lobster sandwich was tasty on a hot day very filling ! The homemade chips were even better as I always compare this to a favorite Chicago resturant of mine! We stopped in looking for a beer and a bite and were not disappointed. Although crowded at a little after noon, we were quickly seated. Service was above average, being nicely looked after, but not being pestered. They have a nice selection of beer on tap, and I decided on a Harp. The ambience is very nice, light and bright, and the AC was keeping everyone cool on an August day. They even had some acoustic tiles suspended from the cieling so it didn't seem like an echo chamber and it worked. My wife ordered the fish tacos and I went with the standard burger and fries. The food came out quickly and piping hot. Everything was delicious; the fries were very nicely seasoned. Atmosphere - Very nice. This is actually my second experience dining at the restaurant. The first time I sat inside in the bar area and had lunch Inside, the place has a classy pub feel. I will say that it is very loud inside. This time, we sat outside at one of the table that sit along the sidewalk. The tables and chairs are nothing fancy. Service - Good, not great. Initially everything was fine. However, the service from the bar when we ordered drinks was painfully slow. Food - Very Good! I ordered the grouper grilled with the lemon butter. The grouper was absolutely perfect in every way. For sides, I had a double starch (mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese). The mashed potatoes were also excellent. However, the Mac n Cheese was sub par. The pasta was a spiral and there was very little cheese. Overall Value - Very Good. The prices were very reasonable, especially during Happy Hour. read more

To be honest this is my second time here. Last night I came over without my girlfriend a.k.a. the wife. Pull up a seat at the bar with a buddy of mine whose name excuse me we were total strangers looking for a couple seats. Ricks was packed. It's a very popular place to go. So I had the shrimp appetizer. It was good. Even better they had my rum and you know me I like my rum particularly when it's my brand. So after the great shrimp went home back to the hotel. Next night which is tonight I brought my girlfriend with me. The wife just in case you forgot. Peggy was in the mood for Cuban. It was OK it did not strike a cord. Don't look at this as a strike because it's not it's just wasn't our taste. So whenever Peggy's going to share something with me always schedule something else. In this case I had their white chicken chili. It was great. I would highly recommend it. So let me talk about the staff for a minute. Last night and tonight they've all been outstanding. This is a great reflection on management because you don't get great staff without great management. And you know what the perfect thing is? I'm sitting here talking about management and what do they do they show up and check and see how our evening is going and how the dinner is. How perfect is that? So if you're looking for a great place to try you should check out Bricks . We're gonna be here for a few days so we'll probably be back, OK not probably but we will be back. This downtown eatery offers ample outdoor seating with large awnings that provide shade and a relaxing spot from which to eat, drink and people watch. For those that prefer indoor dining there is plenty of that too, including a private dining room if things ever get back to "normal" Service is prompt and attentive, staff is masked and tables & chairs get a thorough cleaning between customers. We've eaten there a few times now - all lunches - and each meal has been delicious. This last stop I had a cup of lobster bisque and half a sandwich- the Shillelagh while my better half enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich. A nice cold Guinness was a perfect accompaniment. Really nice atmosphere and excellent food and service. I was in town for an event and swung by to have dinner. Sat at the bar. I started with the chili garlic cauliflower, which was a lot different than a lot of the cauliflower appetizers I've had. This one was broken into small pieces and stir fried in an Asian style chili sauce. It had a thick outer coasting and was amazing. Quite possibly the best cauliflower appetizer I've ever eaten. Followed it up with the halibut special on the menu that night. It's pretty hard to wreck halibut, but you can dry it out if you're not careful. This was a very generous piece of fish with a cocoanut glazed outer coating that was excellent. Green beans and broccoli sides, were great. In all, a very good meal. read more

Worst 'dining' experience of 2023. I put 'dining' in quotes because we never got our food. Arrived 6:24, sat on the patio and ordered a couple happy hour drinks. Placed our order 2 minutes after the couple next to us. We ordered a spicy shrimp app, meatloaf, and a salad. Multiple couples ordered after us on the patio. The couple next to us received their food and finished eating. Other couples around us received their food. Meanwhile, no appetizer and just a brush by excuse "checking on your shrimp; should be right out". Eventually, the waitress blew by us and said that she needs to "check with the manager". Blah, blah, the usual. At 7:24PM, we put a $20 under my wife's empty drink - more than enough to cover two happy hour drinks - and walked away. Extremely hungry and extremely pissed. WTF? Came to O'Bricks with my classmates to celebrate the end of a semester in college. I had a lemon drop martini and cosmopolitan. Both were good and we happened to go here during happy hour so the martinis were only 7$ a piece which is a steal. They offer a small portion salad and a full portion salad. I got the full portion which was huge! I ate some there and was able to take the rest home and split the rest onto two full plates between me and my husband. He raved about the salad too. I ordered the blackened salmon as an add on with my salad which was cooked to perfection. My friend ordered the stuffed banana peppers as an appetizer with bread which I can't wait to return and try again. Don't be fooled by the Irish pub facade--this is one of the best restaurants in Bradenton. Our party of 6 made a reservation online (for indoor seating) at dinner. There is outdoor seating, but for smaller parties. The service was amazing, as we were brought fresh bread to the table almost immediately. The drinks were fantastic--I recommend the martinis, especially the Key Lime Martini. The extensive menu is priced affordably, with fresh seafood options and burgers for those who aren't interested. I needed specific dietary restrictions, and the staff was accommodating and willing to work with me to make my alternative order delicious. Four of us enjoyed fish dishes and my wife had the filet. All very good. I had the red snapper special, my son-in-law had the Chilean Bass, and my daughters had the blackened grouper. We tried a flat bread pizza and Rockefeller oysters. The service was outstanding and the portions were the perfect size. We were able to enjoy several drinks during their happy hour (2-7 everyday) take advantage of that you won't go wrong. Can't wait to come back. We had no intention of stopping in Bradenton, but ended up here 2 nights waiting on auto repair. Best takeway? O'Bricks. We ate here for 2 dinners and one lunch, and I'm totally smitten. Fantastic & very unusual martini selection, and their drink prices are as reasonable as any I've ever seen. They have Wine Down Wednesday with half-price selections, and just happened to have one of my faves (Quilt Cab) this week! $4 Captain Morgan drinks all day every day, and good happy hour specials, too. The wings (whole wing pieces) were delish; the bao buns with shrimp (a special) were divine. Brussels sprouts were great & crispy. Firecracker shrimp, yum. The lobstergot was AMAZING, one of my top choices. The pièce de résistance, though, was the lobster salad BLT I had for lunch today. Now maybe you're thinking, like I was initially, that bacon would overwhelm the lobster and it would all just be too much, a waste of good lobster as it were, but push past that and just do it, it is INCREDIBLE. The lobster seafood salad has plenty of huge lobster chunks in it, and I believe it's dressed with a tarragon mayo, which really rounds it out. Served on a Hawaiian sweet bun, it's about the size of 4 sliders put together, so it's plenty of food and the price is super reasonable. I recommend the house-made chips with it, they were perfect with this and not as much filler as fries might have been. We loved this dish SO much that we got 2 additional orders to take with us for the drive home - it is THAT good. Last but not least, the service has been exceptional on every single visit. It's so apparent that this place is a labor of love, and love and care go into every bite. Will beat a path back here every chance I get! read more

Our entrees were beautifully displayed and tasted almost as good. I got the petit portion of the crab cakes and our fantastic waiter did warn me that there was only one, but it did include two sides and we got an appetizer which was more than enough food for me. The service was super friendly and quite fast considering how busy the restaurant was on a Tuesday evening. They have outdoor seating on the sidewalk which is a nice option to enjoy the ambiance of the cutest street in downtown Bradenton. Definitely a must try spot, but I will admit we did only visit due to a gift card we had received and though the food was good we were not blown away. read more

My in-laws, who live in Florida in the winter, love it here so of course it is the first place we went when visiting. The bloody Marys were delicious and only $4, regardless of the number of "toppings" you select. I got a crab cake and it was the real deal...lots of crab and barely any stuffing. Went to dinner with my family last night. Two things the waiter should have done but never did. He never told us that the Gaspacho Soup is served cold. My daughter said not only that but it tasted like a bowl of salsa dip. Two spoonfuls and it was pushed away. He never asked if there was a reason it was not being enjoyed by the person who ordered it. Also a slice of raspberry cheesecake was ordered. 1 bite and it was never assaulted again. I told him that it was not good. He took it away. Never asked if we wanted something else in its place for either items. Never took them off the almost $300 dollar bill. I won't frequent this restaurant again and definitely won't recommend it. The waiter needs to learn a little bit more on table service. read more
