My goodness we weren't disappointed - the service AND food were outstanding! We wanted seafood but I'm a little squeamish about eating whole fish. So our waiter ensured that our super fresh sea bass was nicely filleted for us. We also got various vegetable sides including a delicious pimientos de padron, and garlic-marinated olives. We also got a really delicious wine recommendation from the region that went perfectly with the sea bass. They have a wide variety of seafood, all of which looked delicious, but we went for their special razor clam rice with fried squid, which was delicious (and huge! The half portion was honestly enough for two) We also got the veal stuffed with ham, raisins, and chestnuts in a cream sauce which was unique and tasty. Prices were an excellent value for the quality of the food, and they also have a menu of the day (lunch special) which is an even better deal for around 12e, which had either a fish or meat option when we were there (you have to ask about it, it's on the menu outside but not listed on the inside menu). One downside was that it was pretty hot in there mid-afternoon. We got there right at the end of lunch service so maybe they had shut off the AC? In any case, worth a stop especially if driving north to Lisbon (they have plenty of free parking too!)-would definitely return and maybe explore Sines a bit more as well (castle was cool and beach looked beautiful from afar!)

The menu is small and the fish options are regularly changing and updating as to what is fresh catch that day. This meal was for my girlfriends birthday and I had popped in a few days before to book the table and to ask if I could arrange for a birthday 'token' for the girlfriend. I had a cake with a candle in mind but Daniel, head waiter and son of the Chef arranged for some fresh flowers to be set on the table as we arrived - a fantastic touch and one greatly appreciated! On to the food! My girlfriend and I both fancied Seabass so we opted for the large fish to share, this came with potatoes and fresh vegetables. The best part is that they come and Fillet the fish right in front of your eyes. Daniel, head waiter, used just a fork and a spoon to perfectly remove the fish of all bones and place some fantastic Seabass on our plates. Perhaps one of the higher end places in Burgau but most definitely worth the money. Bread starter, Fish dinner for 2 and a bottle of wine set us back €63 euros. €63 euros well spent.

The best part of our entire dining experience was the kind beautiful smile and expert service by the young woman with beautiful black braids. Her name may have been Erika (she's expecting also).
