Lovely place but very average food. We had the fried rolls, korrokke, soft tofu stew and seafood pancake. They weren't bad but they weren't delicious either. The pancake was very thin and all I could taste was the cabbage. The soft tofu stew was good. The other 2 appetizers weren't impressive. The place is small and cute but there weren't any AC. The service was fast and the waiter was quite nice.

Ample space , friendly service and good flavor. The portions were a bit small, and the prices of appetizers were overpriced. I miss so much Korean's BBQ but they only offer beef ribs BBQ. Brewed beer was great for me. Not recommended budae chigae for two ~just like instant noodles and a few meats with some kimchi

I went there on a quiet monday night and we had a good service. I really enjoyed most of everything i ordered: korean seafood pancake, tofu bibimbap, beef spicy soup, sapporo beer. The only thing i thought was okay the sweet soju soup with a honeydew popsicle, but i blame myself as it's usually not my kind of drink.

Bibimbap!!!

Went with their Bibimbap dish ($13) which was served in a piping hot stone bowl. The presentation of the plate was excellent, very colourful and appealing. As a side-dish I was also given soup since the Bibimbap is quite a dry fish and the occasional sip of the soup allows you to keep going. The plate was full-flavoured and quite enjoyable. I don't have extensive experience with Korean cuisine but I definitely want to after this meal. Service was fast and polite. Soup refill without even asking! Waitress didn't speak much, if at all, not sure if this is how service is done so... I'll go with traditional Asian experience. :) Negasake has a nice dining setting without being overbearing on the Asian theme. Pretty fake tree? Very quiet, no other patrons so I'm unsure if location is bad or I came in at the wrong time. Or perhaps there's much better elsewhere? Either way, I liked it and I want to experience more Korean cuisine!

Ooo fake tree

Comfortable, cozy, and minimalistic natural atmosphere. There's this cute fake cherry blossom tree we sat under. Came here on a weekday for lunch so there were no other customers there. Service was fast and friendly. There menu has an array of appetizers, as well as mains and drinks. We got shrimp tempura, takoyaki, beef tartare and soba. The tempura was actually ebi fry (the breading is panko and not tempura batter), so they need to rename that. Takoyaki and the soba were both pretty good. Portions were a bit on the small size but it was tasty and what you would expect. The beef tartare however, was frozen. Like icy chunks of raw meat frozen. We ended up asking them to fry up our tartare so it became bulgogi of sorts. I thought tartare was made from fresh meat only? Also, I got the sweet pancake and rice drink which were a delight! I think the food is priced reasonably, but can be improved. I would come here again to try their other items though! It seems that they are better at Korean food so maybe I just chose the wrong items.

Place is good, bibimap was great. Go before it becomes crowed

Really liked the bibimap on the stone bowl ( was very hot) and the miso soup. Dumplings were ok, because they are fried and not steamed Place is gorgeous and very clean.

Came here because the line at Kantapia was too long haha. I had the bibimbap and it was pretty good! A sufficient portion for $13. I didn't like the kimchi much though and the soup was pretty salty. I did really like the interior and atmosphere (granted it was a little empty) and service was decent. I think I may come here but not if Kantapia has space.

Below average food. Chicken was sort of an off putting color. Not much flavor. Wouldn't order again.

Their ramen is literally just instant noodles boiled with a few veggies and few seafood bits...Not worth it for $13 at all.

Food and service could be better... just not worth it. Many good restaurants on that street tho.

Great little place. Kimchi dumplings and bibimpop were both very good. Service was stellar. Glad we made it our first stop in Montreal.

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again! The staff are very friendly and quick. Give it a try! They have multiple locations, especially if you're looking for something new, yet comforting.

While I was in Montreal, I had to check out the FAMOUS Kinton Ramen (yes, I know about this spot…read morefrom their graphic t shirt collaboration with Uniqlo LOL). I stopped by around 8:45 PM, 15 minutes before they closed, but the staff were so kind and lovely, let me dine in, gave me a free drink on the house, and even told me to take my time and not worry about closing. I ordered the spicy garlic pork ramen with thick noodles, and I was blown away with how flavorful the broth and QQ (chewy) the noodles were. I didn't like the pork that much and found it a bit tough and gamey, but they do have two other types of meat (chicken, beef) as well as a vegetarian option available, as well as seasonal menu specials. If I was at McGill, I'd probably visit this spot a bit too often LOL, and I highly recommend checking them out for their comforting ramen bowls and incredibly kind service!

The staff member was very friendly, service was quick and the food came out fast. The Karaage was perfectly fried, seasoned and delicious. However, no dipping sauce is provided, all other joints that I've been to will give you a mayo dipping sauce, not here. The Ramen - noodles were perfectly cooked, however honestly package ramen had a better flavor than their Original pork ramen unfortunately. I had expected this rich and creaminess of the pork broth, that was sticky-lipped intensifying, but it was not. This was disappointing and thus can only give 2 stars. I can't say for other noodle type, but original pork ramen needs a lot of work.

You can also order to go here I believe. They really operate efficiently, expect fast service! Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.

Once seated, things happen very quickly...it is go, go, go (in the best possible way.) We ordered appetizers first, the tempura green beans with a delicious truffle mayo, gyoza and the tofu salad (they make it fresh every Sunday). Green beans were everyone's fave, but I have to mention the (pickled?) vegetables on the salad. So flavourful! Also tried the egg drop soup which is so tasty. Mains were the salmon tuna bowl, the beef short ribs, the shrimp burger, and 48 hour pork with curry sauce. Everything was wonderful! Finished with their soft serve ice cream, I had the cherry blossom but one of us had the sake, which is a shot of sake poured on top. Amazing! You can even have wasabi or ginger... I'll try that next time (and there will be a next time soon!)

Where to begin. This establishment is all around AMAZING!!! All the staff are friendly, outgoing,…read moreattentive, and really know their craft. I thought I had pre-booked a reservation, and we were running late. Parking in this area can be a trick. I dropped my wife off and continued to locate parking. She contacted me and said there was no reservation. I panicked as I parked my truck and sifted through my emails for a confirmation. I hustled the 0.4 miles back to her. When I went in the hostess said it wouldn't be a problem and brought us to a table. My wife later told me she was offered tea while she waited. The waiter was on spot. He knew their menu and provided us with his insights. All the food was Devine. Beautifully laid out and brought out each course in the perfect time. My wife loved the hibachi, she doesn't eat much in general and I do most of the cooking at home. She couldn't get enough of putting items in the hibachi and moving them around. Guess I need a hibachi at home lol. Also my wife is 86 pounds, so she gets cold easy. The hibachi was the perfect personal heater too!! We had a great time together. The ambiance had that perfect Japanese appeal, while still modern. I used to live in Japan so I can be skeptical when it comes to Japanese flair & food. This establishment did not disappoint. So if you are in Montreal, I highly recommend giving this place a go. Side note, pricing is very reasonable considering what is included in packages. And the Saki I had was delicious and looking it up for the going rate they make around $5 per bottle based on what they sell it for and market retail price (place around the corner up charges 110%). So you are more than getting what you pay for in my opinion. And sometimes you just cannot put a price on excellent service! We will definitely be returning when we venture. To Montreal again.

Service was very attentive although the kitchen was quite slow. Our appetizers came 1 hour after our meats arrived, which was a bit strange. Ambiance is a bit cold since the tables are so close to the doors, so we constantly felt a gust of cold air during our visit.
