Great brewers and brews and the kitchen never disappoints, definitely the highlight of this area.

We shared their signature plate, the pork knuckle and it was delicious! I'm glad we shared it though cause it was a ton of food. The meat was tender and the skin was extra crispy. It's served with a delicious mustard sauce that goes well with the pork. It sits on a bed of mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies (cabbage, green beans and carrots). The beer selection is massive so it's also great for beer lovers. I would highly recommend this place to locals and tourists alike!

I actually wanted something 'lighter' but I asked for his recommendation, and of course he said the signature item that they are "famous" for. I also paired it with some whale, because I like eating protected and endangered species. The whale was the best part. Tastes like those cute little puffins, vaguely like a tender beef jerky. As for the caveman chunk of pork on a bone. Woof. I mean, it's good. The crackling is like pork rinds on steroids and the meat really did fall off the bone. The mustard sauce and the mashed potatoes were loaded with fat. However, the staff friendly and attentive. I love my meats, but this did not blow my mind. Would not go out of my way to come here, and I think the overall ratings are a bit generous.

First the wine list, wine by the glass all start from 100kr & above and most wine by the bottle are from 500kr onwards... As for the menu, guess what, its the "sharing concept" thing which has been such popular for the past 2 years in Oslo. They offer very limited 7 choices that changes whenever... On my visit, there were 3 meat, 3 seafood and 2 vegetables. We were recommended to share at least 5 dishes between 2 person. So, we had the following: 1) fritert kylling (similar to chicken karaage) 65kr: salty & boring 2) Rå kveite (halibut ceviche) 110kr: overpowering oyster sause that make it more fishy 3) Skorsonnerot (some kind of root vege) 80kr: gruyere sauce was good but just boring 4) Rå ytrefilet (carpaccio sirloin) 150kr: very balanced & one of the best 5) Torsk (cod) 110kr: one of the worst & a waste of a good piece of cod due to the bad mushroom sauce. Overall, the food were mainly salty drenched in heavy sauces (some are reuse in other dishes) to cover up their mediocre food. Here's something for the owner to consider... If you are charging so high with such limited menu and putting so much sauce in your dishes, why dont you even offer some bread on the table so we can at least wipe off those sauces from the plate and at the same time fill up our tummy with the bread??? Extra Note: The interior seems unfinished with minimal ecstatic with bright light throughout the restaurant with no ambiance, thus, not a place for romantic dinner. You will find some random and unrelated portraits like Jerry Seinfeld & wheelchair bound Christopher Reese in the bathroom which i thought it's a bit morbid and bad taste for a restaurant...

The interior is rustic and the outside courtyard is like a beer garten style surrounded by quaint windows and doors. The custom made Sangria was easy to straw up and the local beer selections on tap and bottle was good. Enjoyed the gravy meatballs with mini potatoes, green peas and berry sauce. The berry sauce was outstanding. I put it on every bite. The lamb burger was a marvelous mix of ingredients on a soft bread. The orange spicy sauce was tolerated by Mr. Bland.

Just like most of Oslo, this place (even the front area) was undergoing some kind of construction…read moreso it could be easily missed...our airbnb host recommended this place as A good local spot near the apartment serving Norwegian food and not too expensive. We arrived and the outdoor sitting area was sooo cute like a beergarden with most people drinking (not eating). We went inside and the bartender first didn't seem to care but a waitress greeted us and told us to just find a seat and she would bring us the menu. She was very kind, she also explained how things work..you order by the bar inside, they give you a pager to pick up your food. Hubby ordered the Norwegian meatloaf (meatballs!) With gravy and I opted for a pork dish. The food on the menu was not cheap! Average around 179 kr! We also ordered 1 Pepsi and 1 glass of beer. Total for our meal was 528 kr = 65 usd! The food came within 15 minutes. Portion was ok. Not American size but not small, enough. They were a bit on the salty side, especially the meatballs. The berry preserves that came with it helped to tone down the saltiness a bit. Loved the mashed peas that came with the meatballs though. My pork dish was ok, the meat had little amount of fat so some parts was a bit dry. I didn't care for the wine sauce that they drenched all over the meat and palenta. I prefer the parents with no juice from the pork stew. The beets were good. Also on the salty side but not as salty as the meatballs. The beer was good and refreshing but again not cheap at 68 kr (smallest glass). The place seemed very happening and we'll known by local and tourists (probably bc yelp and trip advisor gave it 4 stars)...imo, 3 stars seem more fair.
