Doing my due diligence, I also contacted two other contractors for a quote. N & T provided the middle quote, which is was good sign. But what most impressed me and convinced me to go with them, was the high level of customer service. From start to finish, everything was explained clearly and in an honest, friendly manner. I never felt pressured to go in any specific direction, but also trusted their experience to open my mind to new possibilities in the garden. The folks who did the actual work were professional craftspeople. They arrived on time, worked through difficult (hot, wet) weather conditions, and solved the small issues that inevitably cropped up along the way. Hence when we hire contractors for any work around our house, we get multiple estimates (or at least try too), interview the contractors when they come to the house, and I also do research on their companies (read reviews, check their licenses, etc.). We contacted 5 different roofing companies and only 2 of them got back to us with estimates. We chose to go with DeFalco Roofing because we found Christian very knowledgeable, forthcoming with information and willingness to address all our concerns. AN EXTRA BONUS ~ he offered financing with a reputable company who has access to many different lenders to choose from if we wanted to finance the project. When the materials were delivered to the house, we weren't home, but Christian made sure to keep us in the loop of what was being delivered and where it was being placed on our property. The morning of the install we were greeted by Christian, his father and their team of workers that got to work right away and kept the worksite cleaned throughout the day. By the end of the day our old house had a brand-new roof installed without any issues. It was even tested the next day with a nice steady rain. If had to do it all over again, I would hire DeFalco Roofing without hesitation because of the excellent experience we had with them.

I called Tom again for another job. My garage door stopped working. I have used him twice. The woman on the phone tells me it's a $175.00 charge to give me an estimate. This money does not go towards a repair. The repair is completely separate. I ask her if Tom could call me. She says sure. He never called. Many other companies with much better reviews than "L & L Overhead Garage Doors" will give FREE estimates. Why would I, or anyone pay $175.00 for an estimate? I wouldn't and you shouldn't. I got two estimates. It took them 10 minutes to know what was wrong. I just saved $175.00 that will go towards my repair costs. I will be honest here. I liked Tom and I thought we got along great. The first job he did with his son. A great kid. I gave his son a $100.00 tip. The second job was a new garage door that cost around $1,500.00. I asked Tom if he could look at the electric eye in my other garage (right next door). This took him 5 minutes. He asked me for an additional $80.00. Really? I liked Tom and It's his business so I won't tell him how to run it, but he lost a job that was easily his, all my future work and anyone I know that would need his services. If his estimate cost was $50.00 or $75.00, I would have paid it. His work is good. I will not take that away from him. but I really don't understand his business practices Goodbye Tom
