I decided that the best alternative to Covid-19 anxiety was kitchen renovation anxiety, was this…read moreinsane or what? I worked out the plans at the Ikeea Design Studio on March 18th -- I was the last customer seen and literally they shut the place down for three months after I waled out the door (and took the subway home). Over the next few months I watched a gazillion YouTube videos thinking I could do a lot of the projects myself. I was wrong. Then I cooked up some schemes to honor my building's stingent requirements but still keep the reno moving forward, like detaching all my cabinet doors and driving them over to the painter to spray in his building basement. What a mess. By the time Ikea opened up again and the shipping backlogs eased I had learned my lesson -- and signed up for Ikea's contruction services for the installation. They assigned Turn Key. This team's work was the only part of the reno that came off without a hitch. I was completely bowled over when Lance contacted me the day before the installation to ask if he could send his carpenter up to check out the space and figure the out the logistics. This meant when the team arrived the next morning, they were all ready to go at it. And go at it they did. They worked swiftly, cleanly and without incident. I was here the entire time, and they never took a break until they were done -- earlier than projected, at which point they cleaned up and left me with my new kitchen. If I could give TurnKey six stars, I would.

I found JNH Construction by accident while looking for something else on Yelp. The reviews were…read morevery good so I called them. Hasan and I made an appointment for a few days later. He listened as I explained what I wanted. He described in explicit detail what could be done to remedy the situation concerning the brownstoning of the stoop and cementing beneath the stoop. At his point I had already had several price quotes and description from other vendors. Hasan's description and price was by far the best. We set a start date for 3 weeks later. Hassan's contract was in detail as was discussed. His payment plan was even better: 10% at the signing of the contract, 40% at the start of the project, 40% midway through the project, and 10% upon completion. Unbeknownst to him, this made the project even more affordable because it would take a few weeks to be completed. Additionally, he gave a timetable/estimate of how many days the work would take (depending on the weather) as well how the work would be divided into sections. Hasan came with his workers on the very first day and outlined what was to be done. He would come on a daily basis unannounced (I think) to inspect and examine completed work. His level of professionalism, skills set, and competence is unmatched by any other contractor that I have come in contact with. Hassan's workers have an excellent work ethic. They report to work in promptly and begin to work immediately. They are prepared to work complete with the appropriate materials and tools. As you watch them work one can see they are well versed in their profession. They work proficiently, diligently, skillfully, neatly, and quietly. They were very accommodating and followed requested specifications exactly. Each day they left the area they worked on spotless. I would hire them again and I strongly recommend JNH Construction Co.

I worked with reBUILD Workshop on the design/build of my apartment in Prospect Heights. You can…read moreactually see some of the photos on reBUILD's current landing page (the 5th, 13th, and 14th). My wife and I were incredibly pleased with the work that was done. Originally we were working with Peter, but he transitioned the project to Themis subsequent to some of the initial work. Themis both maintained the aesthetic vision for the apartment as well as closely managed the work of Jimmy, our general contractor. Themis was excellent and very much on top of things in a number of ways: 1. He met with us weekly (or more frequently, if needed) at the apartment to walk through details or issues we had spotted during construction. 2. Themis responded in a very prompt fashion to any e-mails / questions we had. Almost all correspondence was answered within on day, and typically within a couple of hours. If urgent questions arose that required a longer conversation, he was flexible about finding time to have a quick chat during the day. 3. Themis helped insert his aesthetic preferences and vision at points when we had no strong beliefs; that's part of the reason our apartment looks so great! 4. At a critical juncture in the process, the GC had installed our master bathroom fixtures in the second/communal bathroom. We had two different sets of fixtures and so the "expensive" ones were placed in the wrong bathroom. Rather than rip out the fixtures and place them in the master bathroom, Themis suggested we just buy a duplicate set of fixtures for the master bathroom. Though it was largely the GC's "fault," reBUILD picked up the additional cost with no questions asked. This is the reason why design/build should be preferred by residential buyers. I could go on and on, but Themis and team were incredibly helpful in getting us the apartment we imagined. Please reach out to me if you have any further questions - I recommend reBUILD wholeheartedly!

The end results exceeded my expectations and my home not only looks excellent, but is much more usable now. We actually had specific requests on how to build out the apartment, but after in depth consulting with the team, they recommended much better options and now the place looks much more aesthetically pleasing than before! I am extremely happy with the quality work and the open communication throughout the project. Having worked with other contractors before, the biggest problem is always the lacked of communication leading to a sense of distrust. There was absolutely no such feeling with the A+ crew at reBuild. In fact all the craftsmen were a delight to have around, especially Jimmy and George who both had a great sense of humor and many wonderful stories from all their years in the business. Lastly, I cannot stress how impressed I was with the respect they gave our home. Each time I would return to the condo to take a look at the progress, I would find everything meticulously covered, taped up and treated properly. Even my super commended their professionalism. I highly recommend rebuild and will certainly look to them for my future projects.
