Recently had an issue with my RAV4 wiring. They took a look and found the problem really quick, a blown fuse. I had them look because they wired the vehicle for towing 3 years ago. I had no idea where to find said fuse. They replaced it, no charge! I will be back and recommend N W Running Boards for any of your towing needs. read more

Had a great experience here, I first called and was able to get clear fast pricing over the phone. They were very friendly and answered all my questions. I price shopped around and they were by far the friendliest and had the best price. I called back a few weeks later and scheduled my appointment for a line-x bed liner on my truck and was able to get an appointment that Saturday. The lady in the office who checked me is was very nice and she got me taken care of right away. Came back a few hours later for pickup and the bed liner looked great! Recently got a Nissan Pathfinder and wanted running boards and tint for the car. The tint is done through a 3rd party but at the store. He did a great job and the tinting looks amazing. The price was also cheaper then some other stores quoted in Clackamas and comes with a life time waranty. Really happy with that. The running boards look great. I was told that the Pathfinder wasn't really meant to have running boards, and in some ways I guess I shouldn't be surprised since they are tucked under the doors and are usuable only when the doors open. At the same time, I'm a short guy, so this is exactly what I wanted. Overall pretty happy. I sat in the office during install and it took about 4 hours for both the tint and the running boards. read more

So I wish I wrote this sooner, but now I get a chance to complement them on two different occasions. The first time to there store they were supper nice and fixed me up with a set of running boards for my Ram 1500 so my wife could get in and out of the truck with are little one. There price was supper reasonable and they even hooked me up with a military discount on top of that. I tend to shop more at stores that support the military, so I added on some mud flaps, tinted visors on the outside and all weather mats. It was worth it and they were knowledgeable so I was cool with it. Then I made a big mistake and took my truck to a different store for my leveling kit. The other store was closer and a little less expensive. Well after three months of constant squeaks and issues, the dealership had no clue what was wrong with my truck or what how to fix it, I took it back to NW RB. Troy Identified the issue, fixed the problem, got me a missing part and swapped out the bad parts from the first guys mistake. Three moths of problems solved by one determined guy. Since I was so happy with the work they did I had them tint my windows a week later. The guy who did that job, had a lot of knowledge on the laws around window tint and was able to help me make an informed decision. After all that, I decided to get a step put on my truck (step to get into the bed) in a couple weeks as well. Troy ordered the part and set the appointment up on the spot. These guys are fair, affordable and honest. They will tell you if something doesn't work and why. I have read some of the reviews prior to mine and I don't know if they changed or people's perceptions where off, but I have never had a problem with them and on top of that they fixed my truck when no onelse could. Lastly they support the military can't go wrong there. My only regret was not talking to them first about a linex bed liner. I went with a rino liner and it isn't bad but the linex is way better. read more

Took my Dodge 2500 in to have a set of back up lights, and an led light bar wired. I mounted the lights myself so I would be sure they were where I wanted. I can do the wiring, but was unsure of how best to get the wires in the cab and have a professional look. I won't say good or bad on the price. They gave me an estimate and I agreed. Issue I had was the quality of the job. 1. I showed the tech how I was going to run the light bar wire along the headache rack, so please leave me enough wire. Ended up a good 4" short of what was needed to look good. 2. Light bar connections were wrapped with electrical tape? Where's the professional shrink wrap covering. 3. Switches, lastly they mounted the switches upside down. Everyone knows up is on, and down is off. I turned the lights on by accident 4 times in 2 days. I turned them around myself. We just bought a new truck which which did not come with running boards and we walked in off the street to discuss what we could we could add to our vehicle. Crystal was so friendly and knowledgeable and she showed us all of the different options and explained the benefits and drawbacks of each. We had the electronic step installed and it looks beautiful! Unfortunately I was 15 minutes late to my appointment. I called ahead and was advised I could still come in for the service. As I was asking the technician some questions, another person came out from the office and said "we are running behind, no time for questions, we gotta get this going". Seems like someone spending over $1,000 should be able to ask a few questions about warranty, etc. The two technicians were very polite and thorough, until our conversation was cut short. In the end, everything turned out fine and am happy with the quality of work they did. read more

I had some running boards installed a few months ago on my 2014 FJ Cruiser. I love them !! They helped me pick out some that complimented my vehicle and worked for the configuration of my suicide doors. The price was very reasonable and they were installed in about an hour. Very good service and friendly too. Love their cute dogs ! My husband then got some installed on his Tundra and they are different and fit the style of his truck well. They had to remove and replace my exterior visor so my glass could be replaced. After the first rain (5 days later), my truck was leaking. I called to notify them as well as the glass shop. The glass shop determined that the leak was coming from the exterior visor as there was a bolt one missing (actually it was a nut) and left an area open for leaks.The glass shop recommended that when they fix the leak they should also be responsible for removing the musty odor from the truck. Took it back, they resealed the exterior visor, and left me a voice message that there was no part missing, but they resealed it anyway. When I called to inquire about the musty smell, I was told that there was a nut missing when I brought the truck in and they listed it on my receipt. I looked at my receipt, no mention anywhere of a missing nut and according to their own voice message, nothing was missing. Upon picking up my truck, I was treated rudely and the person who left the voice message was conveniently gone. I asked if they wanted to see my receipt (showing no mention of missing nut) or the paperwork from the glass shop indicating where the leak was coming and how NW running boards should be responsible for removing the musty smell. I was told no and then he stated "I was not previ to any conversation" then he turned his back to me. FYI NW running boards, one of the basic principles of ethics is to do the right thing when no one else is looking. You failed. My truck leaked and now smells musty over a 17 cent part (which if was missing I would have gladly paid for). Regardless if it was or was not missing, you knew it would leak. You had an opportunity to make things right by accepting responsibility, offering an apology and try to remove the musty smell. But instead you have encouraged me to share my story with family and friends. read more

Just like all the rest of the 4 wheel drive shops. Make sure you check around. Overcharged $70 more for a hitch than GMC dealer, when I asked them about it, didn't offer to make right. The..... behind the counter said DUH... don't know how they do that. Obviously, THEY'RE NOT RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!! $50 cheaper on Amazon. Weigh Safe Hitches. Look um up! MAKE SURE YOU CHECK AROUND BEFORE YOU GO HERE!! That's what I get for trying to help a local brick and mortar shop. Was going to get tonneau there. HA! Got better deal at CCR and KNOW the quality of work will be excellent. read more

I had NW Running Boards install a bed cover on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma in early February. At some point, I noticed rain water collecting in two indentations on the panel closest to the cab. I looked it over pretty carefully because I thought something came in contact with the panel when it was folded back. Everything looked ok and I had not even opened the cover more than three times since I bought it. I made a trip back to NW and explained the situation and the tech said he needed to see it. We went out and that was basically the end of the conversation. He told me that I had not properly stowed the latches and had caused the damage. I told him I had not had the cover opened but a few times and things were stowed properly. He told me that someone else must have opened it, which is pretty difficult since I keep it locked. This tech basically dismissed me and sent me on my way. I left dissatisfied and a bit angry. After stewing for a period of time, I contacted the manufacturer and told them the situation. They asked me to send pictures and submit a form. I did so and heard back from them in May. They told me they were going to replace my cover. I was appreciative that they covered the damage because I spent $1000.00 on the cover plus install. When I removed the damaged cover, I could clearly see that NW had over tightened the hardware that holds the cover in place. The directions clearly say "do not over tighten or you will cause permanent damage". NW would not even consider that they had done something wrong. They should be reimbursing the fee for install, but I'm certainly not going to bother with that. I will not be doing business with NW Running Boards in the future. read more

Brought my brand new 2018 F-150 in for a Line-X installation. I called several shops in the area and all the shops were almost identical in price. I pay attention to detail and the Line-X bed liner looks amazing! I love the fact that Line-X comes with a lifetime warranty. They obviously have a technician that knows what he's doing. When they called for me to pick the truck up I asked if I could leave it for two full days and they said yes. I felt bad for asking but was grateful they let me leave it. I appreciated the explanation I was given at my truck of the Line-X process and where everything would go. They did a full walk around the vehicle to check for damage before accepting the vehicle which I appreciated. Northwest Running Boards definitely has a local maybe family owned business vibe which I like. Would recommend NW Running Boards for Line-X work. I was impressed with their process. read more
